Chapter 9
“Are you sure this is the way?” Helen asked.
“Yes,” Jackson said, quietly. “This way those that are in charge can see how well they are together.”
“Who is in charge, anyway?”
He shrugged. “I honestly don’t know.”
“How come?”
“Because I don’t talk to anyone. I just get a feeling and then I vision of where I need to go.”
“How do you get from place to place to quickly?”
“I’m not exactly alive.”
“You’re a ghost?”
“I’m not exactly dead.”
“Then what are you?”
Jackson shrugs again. “To be perfectly honest, I’m not sure.”
“So there are no such things as the Elders or anything like that?”
“Not to my knowledge and this isn’t Charmed you know. This is real life. Weird.”
“So none of that stuff is real?”
“Premonitions are real, telekinesis is real. I think some of those other elemental powers might be real. Orbing and such, no.”
“Bummer.”
“If you say so.”
“I think being able to just go to where you want to so easily, would be great. Plus the power to heal would be great.”
“True enough. I guess.”
“What do you mean?”
“Seems like a great responsibility. Who wants that?”
“I would. Not the responsibility, but the fun part of it.”
“What if none of its fun?”
“I can still go wherever I want.”
“Possibly.”
“You think there’d be limits?”
“There is in everything else. Why wouldn’t orbing be any different?”
“What is going to happen? Will she be in any trouble?”
“No. I’m still not sure how things happened or why they happened. I’m not sure how she found out, but I can’t help but wonder how she found out.”
“I don’t know. Are you sure she can’t get in trouble?”
“There’s no one for her to get in trouble with. There is no higher power that I know of and no Elders, no God. Again that I know of and my apologizes if you believe in Him. I don’t report to anyone. I just know things sometimes.”
“Okay.”
