Chapter 35.
Mason’s adoptive dad, Anthony spoke to me about pressing charges against the scientists and I willingly obliged to do so. He told me there was no need for me to make a statement in the courtroom. I could record myself explaining everything and that I did.
I have other pressing matters that I couldn’t put off.
Mason dropped me home and after all the hugging and the scolding from Kalina and my friends, I was ready to address the matter head on.
Mason stayed because I asked him to. He witnessed the whole thing after all.
Kalina called Gran on Skype and we were sitting on the couch with her on the laptop screen on the coffee table. Kalina sat to my left while Mason sat to my right. Kalina was extremely nervous because she had no clue why I was being so edgy.
“What happened in Florida Xayla?” Gran asked.
I looked at Mason and he gave me a brief nod.
“Well other than them poking around my brain and running these different kind of tests, I heard them say something. ” I paused.
“Telekinesis.” I sighed, reading Gran’s facial expression.
“Tell me what happened that led up to that.” She instructed
“Well after I was abducted from my front lawn, I woke up and I felt something holding down both my ankles and wrists. I also had something over my eyes so I couldn’t see a thing. I was so..” I paused.
“I was so mad.” I sneered. “I begun screaming telling them to let me go then I heard a clashing sound like metal stuff hitting the ground and then one of them shouted Telekinesis.”
Gran got up and she was no longer in sight. She came a second later with a thick book in hand, skipping the pages furiously.
“Is it possible...” I heard her murmur.
“What is it Gran?” Kalina asked getting impatient.
Gran looked up at us from the book and said something that I never thought could be possible.
“Psychic Enchantress.” She whispered, her eyes bulging open.
“Wait what does that mean?” Mason asked, confused.
“It means that i’m not only Psychic. ” I stated, looking at him.
“So what else are you?” He baffled.
“A Witch.” Gran answered. “A special kind of Witch. It makes so much sense now as to why your eyes are that shade.”
“I’m a Psychic Enchantress.” I breathed, lost in my own thoughts.
“Wait what?” Kalina questioned.
“A little confused here.” Mason muttered. “What or who is a Psychic Enchantress?” He baffled.
“Its a Witch who is also a Psychic, or the other way around. We haven’t had one in over a century. ” Gran pondered.
“So that’s why you could strangle by just raising your hand?” Mason muttered, touching his neck.
“You strangled him?” Gran questioned.
“Yeah I sorta did.” I replied, looking embarrassed.
“Why would you strangle your friend?” Gran asked.
“Its like she didn’t recognize me or something. She was so pissed to even look at me properly.” Mason explained.
“This is bad Xayla.” Gran said lowly.
“What why?” I baffled.
“The last Psychic Enchantress, was evil. It seemed as though that, that dark matter from her is somewhere inside you and was triggered by your wave of anger.” She explained.
“So I guess that’s why I felt killing the entire staff at the hospital.” I sighed. “Does this mean i’m evil!” I exclaimed.
“No Xayla, you can’t be evil.” Kalina hugged me.
“There’s a possibility.” Gran stated.
“Gran!” I cried.
“There’s a possibility that the last enchantress that went by the name Davilla, has somehow found her way into your soul. She hasn’t taken it over but there is a possibility that she could and will. But keep in mind, whenever you get upset at something or someone, she takes over your mind and body until the anger subsides.” Gran explained a little too calmly. Because i’m freaking out.
“Oh wow. So the evil witch is trying to take over my body!” I exclaimed getting up.
“Yes. She died by someone very close to her and her ghost has been around ever since, looking for another witch like her, so she can take over that body and live once more.” She added.
“Okay so how do we prevent her from doing that?” Mason asked sternly.
“Well, for now, try avoid getting angry, because you’ll end up hurting a lot of people.” Gran stated.
I was pacing behind the couch having a mental break down.
“Come back and sit Xay” Kalina called.
“What if she takes over my body and then capiche, am no more.” I cried.
“It won’t get that far. I promise.” Gran soothingly told me.
“How do you know that?” I screamed.
“Because I’ll be there to get rid of her ghost once and for all.” She conluded.
“How?” I stopped pacing and leaned over the couch, looking at her questionably.
“Never mind that. In the meantime, i’m coming to New York. You have a lot to learn regarding witchcraft.” She smiled.
I was a bit comforted knowing that she’ll be here in case something went wrong and I started a massacre.
“When you were strangling me...I saw...you weren’t you Xayla. I saw pure darkness and your eyes were glowing.” Mason breathed, looked down at his hands.
“Wow. Just when I got the scientists off my back, this Davilla person is out to get me.” I hissed.
“Why me!” I shouted, dramatically, covering my eyes.
“There’s a lot you need to know about your abilities. You know all about your psychic abilities but not your witch ones. I’m coming there tomorrow. Have the guest room ready.” And with that she was no longer on the screen of my laptop.
Mason and Kalina turned to look at me with concerned expressions.
“Don’t, you guys. I don’t wanna talk about this anymore. I’m hungry and I want pizza.” I claimed walking towards the kitchen.
“But Xa..” Mason started.
“No Mason.” I cut him off.
“Xay..” Kalina begun.
“I said no!” I shreaked, stopping in my tracks to glare at her.
“I just wanted to ask if you want pepperoni or meat pizza..” She defended, raising her palms to face me.
“Oh.” I muttered.
Mason giggled but he stopped and cleared his throat when I glared at him.
“Meat.” I answered Kalina, turning on my heels and head to my bedroom. I really needed some alone time.
I plopped my self in my bed and closed my eyes.
My life is filled with so much drama I can’t manage.
I sensed someone was in the room with me and I groaned.
“I wanna be alone right now.” I sighed.
“Oh I just wanted to ask if you were up for our date Friday night..” I heard Mason ponder.
I opened my eyes to see him standing in the middle of my room, scratching the back of his head.
“Oh.. Ummm.” I paused.
“Its cool if you don’t want to knowing all that you’re going through.” He rushed in, suddenly nervous.
I got up and walked over to him, wrapping my arms around his torso.
“Friday is perfect.” I smiled, pecking him on the cheek.
