Prophecy Of Doom

Chapter 24:

The next day in Amara’s room

Ryan: “Love?”

Amara: “Yes?”

In Ryan’s head: Why is she looking dangerously calm?

Ryan: “Aren’t you like…angry?”

Amara: “Why would I be angry? Did you do something which can make me angry?”

Ryan: “I forgot to tell you about my trip.”

Amara: “Is there a reason why everyone knew except me?”

Ryan: “When I left the room you were sleeping looking peaceful. I didn’t wanna wake you then everything happened so fast and it slipped my mind.”

Amara: “It’s okay, I know it’s all new to you, to us. So it’s okay but I wanted to ask. Is there something you wanna tell me?”

Ryan: “Like what?”

Amara: “Like something I don’t know but I should know.”

In Ryan’s head: Yes, there’s a lot of things but you won’t be able to accept them.

Ryan: “I’ll tell you if there’s anything you should know.”

Amara: “Is the pup all right? I didn’t get a chance to visit him.”

Ryan: “Yes. (later on in the kitchen)”

Amara: “Oh hey.”

Arnold: “Hello.”

In Amara’s head: Who’s he? I’ve never seen him before.

Amara: “Are you hungry?”

Arnold: “Um…y-yes.”

Amara: “Come here. What’s your name? Do you live here? But I’m seeing you for the first time.”

Arnold: “No, I don’t live here. I came yesterday from the hospital. My name is Arnold.”

Amara: “From the hospital? Are you okay?”

Arnold: “Yes, I’m fine now.”

Amara: “I’m Amara and this is Rico.”

Arnold: “Nice to meet you. You’re beautiful.”

Amara: “And you’re cute.”

In Arnold’s head: This has a familiar taste.

Amara: “What happened? You didn’t like it?”

Arnold: “No, it’s delicious. My moms used to make me these. It reminded me of them.”

In Amara’s head: What have you gone through, kid?

Arnold: “Thank you.”

In Arnold’s head: For the cupcakes and saving my life that day.

Amara: “What?”

Ryan: “Nothing. (later on outside the house). I heard you have an important thing to talk to me about.”

Emmett: “Yes, I wanna join your pack.”

Ryan: “Did I hear that right?”

Emmett: “Yes, I wanna join this pack.”

Ryan: “Okay.”

Emmett: “I heard you never allow an outsider to join your pack.”

Ryan: “That’s practically true. I don’t allow an outsider to even step foot on my territory but you’ve made your intentions very clear and haven’t given me any reason to behead

you. So I guess we can try the ritual.”

Emmett: “What ritual?”

Ryan: “This isn’t a normal pack where the alpha just gives you his permission to join the pack. Things work differently. I can only allow you to join the ritual, there’s someone else who decides whether you’re worthy of joining this pack or not.”

Emmett: “Who?”

Ryan: “The spirits.”

Emmett: “May I ask what I have to do for this ritual?”

Ryan: “Just be ready, we’ll do the ritual tomorrow at midnight.”

Emmett: “I heard about the kid you rescued.”

Ryan: “Amara rescued him. He was from the Moonstone Pack which no longer exists. The Legion killed them. I talked to Alpha Josiah of The Shadow Pack, he’s moving to a different place.”

Emmett: “When will their tyranny end?”

Ryan: “I don’t know. I was ready to start a war a few years ago but not a single alpha came forward to support me and I told them there’ll come a day where they’ll become unstoppable and you guys will deal with the consequences. They believed I was just a young kid seeking revenge for my parents and that’s why I tried to start this war. They couldn’t see what I saw at the time and now they’re paying for it. You should know if the ritual doesn’t fail, your previous pack scar will be replaced by our scar. (fifteen minutes later in the garden)”

Amara: “Emmett?”

Emmett: “Is everything okay?”

Rico: “Have you seen Arnold?”

Emmett: “Who’s Arnold?”

Amara: “The new kid, he came yesterday from the hospital.”

Emmett: “Oh no, I haven’t met him yet.”

Rico: “Where did he go?”

Amara: “Maybe he needed some time alone. He’ll be back soon.”

Rico: “Why did he need alone time?”

Amara: “Because he was upset about something, let’s go, you have school.”

Rico: “Okay, angel. (later on, on the other side of the garden)”

Emmett: “Kid, what are you doing here alone? Amara and Rico were looking for you.”

Arnold: “I wanted to be alone. I wasn’t feeling good.”

Emmett: “Do you wanna talk about it?”

Arnold: “I’m missing my mom’s. I wanna see them again, hug them. I wanna tell them everything that happened to me.”

Emmett: “How old are you?”

Arnold: “I’m eleven.”

Emmett: “You know I had a son who was almost your age.”

Arnold: “Where is he?”

Emmett: “He was taken away from me by the same people who attacked your pack.”

Arnold: “Does that mean he’s no more?”

Emmett: “Yes, it’s the painful truth I had to accept. Someone told me, ‘life puts us through things we don’t deserve but we should never give up’. We should keep moving, that’s the only way to survive.”

Arnold: “Did they kill my moms?”

Emmett: “Perhaps but we don’t know for sure but I would say don’t lose hope just yet. It’s good to hold onto hope, it makes our life a little worth living but don’t isolate yourself, you have to keep moving, do what makes you happy and you can spend time with Rico, he’s a good kid and a wolf like you.”

Arnold: “And what about Amara? What is she? She’s so kind but my wolf says she’s not a werewolf or a human.”

In Emmett’s head: Good thing he didn’t see her the night of the gathering.

Emmett: “She is kind but she has other sides and we don’t know what creature she is.”

Arnold: “She saved me, it’s because of her that I’m here. My wolf also likes her, he doesn’t see her as a threat.”

Emmett: “I know, I admire her too. Now come on, let’s go back to the mansion. It’s gonna be dark soon. (the next day at midnight)”

In Ryan’s head: I’ll be back soon. I wish you could attend the ritual with us. Maybe one day. (in the woods)

Emmett: “I, Emmett Hart, swear loyalty to Alpha Diavolo and the Bloodwalker pack. I’ll guard its secrets and obey your commands, fight by your side till my last breath. Your battle will be mine and your enemies will be my enemies.”

Ryan: “I, Ryan Diavolo Accardi son of Arthur Salvatore Accardi, as alpha, welcome you to my pack. We live a dangerous life and we don’t fear death. We all have a purpose and we protect each other because we’re family. You have a place to call home. It was your destiny to be in this pack. The spirits have accepted you because you’re worthy to be a member of this pack and carry that scar to the day you die.”

Emmett: “I’m grateful. (the next morning in the gym)”

In Amara’s head: I was expecting him to be here and not like this. All shirtless and showing off his body. It’s not like I haven’t seen a man shirtless before but this is the first time this kind of you and made me feel things I never felt before. Although I’ve tried hard not to become attached to this man more than I anticipated earlier. But I’m falling. How can anyone resist a man like him? It was easy for me at first because he was just a grumpy ass, tall, handsome, dangerous man who kidnapped my brother. I heard things about him that made me think he’s just like any other man. Then I got to know him and he showed me a side of him which no one has ever seen and I love it when he treats me the same way I treat myself. Fourteen year old me had known she was gonna meet a man like him, she’d consider herself lucky. Though I’m not like my fourteen year old self now, everything she was is gone now. I said we’re gonna take things slow and I meant it because there’s still a lot to know. And not once did he try to make me feel like he wants to rush things. He respects my decision and I like this about him the most. come on legs, don’t you dare get weak and the presents of this handsome devil.

Amara: “I didn’t know you were here.”

Ryan: “I love it.”

Amara: “Love what?”

Ryan: “When you check me out.”

Amara: “You were in my room last night.”

Ryan: “And when you get shy and try to change the topic.”

Amara: “Don’t tempt me, Diavolo.”

Ryan: “I haven’t even started doing that and when I’ll try to tempt you, you’re a magnificent mouth will be too busy in mind to say don’t tempt me.”

In Amara’s head: Get a hold of yourself, woman.

Ryan: “And to answer your question, yes. My room feels empty and cold these days. I wonder why. so I end up in your room and Trust me, now I sleep better than I ever did.”

In Amara’s head: Me too.

Ryan: “On top of that I get to see you sleep. Did I mention how I love to see you sleep?”

Amara: “Careful, you’re ruining your image. No one can imagine the big bad gangster to have any kind of feelings for someone.”

Ryan: “I can ruin everything for you, love and that for someone I feel all the feelings for you and you only. No one could ever make me feel anything and my whole life before you. I love the fact that only I can make you blush.”

Amara: “I don’t know what you’re talking about.”

Ryan: “Tell it to your flustered cheeks, love.”

Amara: “Are you done punching the bag or do you want to go a few rounds with me?”

Ryan: “A few? I can do that all day and all night if you want.”

Amara: “I meant…train with me.”

Ryan: “And I meant what I meant. Come closer, I don’t like it when you stay far away from me. And yes, we can train. Just make sure you don’t get too distracted.”

Amara: “Tell it to yourself.”

Ryan: “No need, I’m already distracted. (an hour later). Look at you…may I ask who trained you to fight like that?”

Amara: “I’ve learned different styles all by myself. There are books and the internet but if you must know about a teacher…a monk. I met him when I was in Japan. I could relate to him in a way. His life was also chaotic, he was an assassin but things changed and he became a monk later on. He taught me things on a spiritual level and intellectual level more than any physical fighting skills because I already knew many.”

In Ryan’s head: So that’s what you were doing in Japan. Damon was telling the truth when he said you disappeared for three months straight one time.

Ryan: “Is there anything you can’t do or you aren’t perfect at?”

Amara: “There can be a lot of things. I’d rather focus on my perfections than my flaws.”

Ryan: “I don’t believe you have any flaws.”

In Amara’s head: All of a sudden he grabbed my hand and I lost my balance. But God, he wasn’t going to catch me. He had some other intention.

Amara: “You could’ve caught me.”

Ryan: “Yes, but I didn’t want to. I have to ask something.”

Amara: “We could’ve had this conversation standing on our feet, you know?”

Ryan: “But I’d prefer this position. Let me take you on a date.”

Amara: “Are you serious?”

Ryan: “I’m dead serious. So?”

Amara: “I’d like to go on a date with you.”

Ryan: “I’m glad you agreed.”

Amara: “But tomorrow I’m going on a girl’s night out.”

Ryan: “You’re not going anywhere alone. I’m going with you.”

Luca: “Boss…you’ve got a problem! (in the living room)”

Ryan: “What the hell is going on here?”

Jenna: “Diavolo!! Your daddy is here.”

Amara: “What?!”
