Chapter 65 - Back Up
Our next days consisted of me being snuck out of the room, helping Matheus and talking to the JAG lawyers. I was ready for the whole court date to be over. I was tired and out of sorts. The one thing to happen was I was fully mated to Matheus now. I thought it would be a painful experience but Matheus made everything feel right and good, damn good. For a virgin he knew a lot of positions but I could guess his jaguar was helping as mine was. They have the pervert part down in great detail. Rawr was sleeping and leaving me alone, thank God. I don’t think I could handle hearing her orders in my head.
I was helping Matheus on a new project, since Mateo was on vacation with his mate. He was frustrated until we sat down and talked about the problem. After we discussed the problem we got down to making the electric components. We were making a helmet ready guidance system. It was a full face helmet, hiding every soldiers face. It almost like the rifles we used to take out Barbosa’s men. It would tell wind speed, range, zone in on a tango, alert the user if there was someone behind them, and it had a built in microphone. It took over a month to figure out the components and test the helmet. Okay, it took two weeks to make it and another two weeks of testing the helmet. We had too much fun testing the helmet out but I think it helped having both of us playing with helmet. Now, it was time to have the Shadow Cats and Madrid test the helmets out.
Madrid, Dragon, Warrior, Digger, Claw, Flirt, and Eagle walked into the warehouse. They were loud and excited about the new project, joking about having a Mrs. go-go gadget until I growled at them.
Madrid threw up his hands in the universal sign for I surrender. “Let’s see what we get to play with now. I can’t wait,” he said, rubbing his hands together.
Matheus smiled. “Selina and I came up with project. She’s been a lot of help.”
All the men, once again, gaped at me. “I’m not just a soldier, I’m a tech wiz too.”
Madrid nodded his head, all the men following his example as I went by the guys and closed their mouths.
“I’ve already spoken to the Commander and Chief about keeping you on. He liked the idea of having you help Matheus. I may or may not have told him you were joining the Navy but would be stateside to help Matheus. He was good with it,” Madrid informed me.
“What? I can’t help the Shadow Cats if Matheus goes?” I questioned, crossing my arms over my chest and scowling.
“Uh, yes you can as long as Matheus is there. It’s my only stipulation considering your pregnant.”
The blood drained out of my face, causing me to reach out and grab Matheus. I looked at Madrid and Matheus. “But, I don’t know how to be a mother. Mine was killed when I was one.”
“Good thing you have eight uncles. We love children as long as they aren’t ours,” Flirt added, smiling a wicked smile.
“No, Flirt, you stay away from our child. You will not corrupt him or her,” Matheus sternly said, glaring at Flirt as the other men laughed.
“Oh, God, why didn’t I know. My jaguars a lazy bitch but I thought she would tell me,” I commented, looking at everyone.
"Well, I’ve been tired because of the pregnancy hormones. Why do you think I have been sleeping so much. But, if anyone messes with us or this pup I will tear them apart,” Rawr growled out.
“Stupid jaguar,” I muttered. “Lazy bitch.”
All the men started laughing at me. I glared at them. “My jaguar warned me that if anyone messes with our pup she would tear them limb from limb, uncles,” I said sickly sweet, smiling a wicked smile.
The men backed up, gulping as one. “How about we let Selina have some time to get used to the idea,” Madrid commanded. All the men nodded, including Matheus.
“Okay, back to the test,” Matheus handed out each helmet.
“To turn on your helmet just say it. It will come up and you need to state your name to activate everything,” I explained. I couldn’t wait. This would blow their mind.
“Wow!” Madrid yelled. “This is fantastic.”
I couldn’t wait for them to find out about the camera behind their head. I was going to enjoy testing the helmets. Especially with what the guys said about me being Mrs. go-go gadget. I walked off to the restroom, making them think I had to go. But, at the last minute I ran up behind them, causing them to jump. I guess they were surprised they could see behind them.
I started laughing at them. “Yes, there’s a camera to show you if anyone is behind you.”
Matheus snickered at them. “Let’s go test the rest of the helmet. But, when you shoot you’re going to have to say go-go gadgets to power them to full mode.”
“What?” Madrid asked. “She got mad at me calling her Mrs. go-go gadget now she’s okay?”
I snickered as Matheus explained, “Why yes she did. But, can you imagine a bunch of soldiers having to say go-go gadgets?”
“You’re going to have to change the password. I don’t think the Navy will be happy about it. But, I think it’s funny as hell,” Madrid stated. “No, don’t change it. I can’t wait to hear the soldiers saying the password.” He laughed loudly, the other men joining him.
I smiled and grabbed my own helmet, Matheus following my actions. We walked into the shooting range Matheus had built to test his projects. I was excited to see their reaction. I remembered ours when we got everything working right. I jumped around with Matheus as if I was a kangaroo. I was glad no one was around to see me.
