Chapter 64 - Ice

It took us awhile to make it to Washington. I was tired, hungry and in desperate need of a shower, not necessarily in that order. I was hoping I wouldn’t have to go through the photos tonight but I would if I had to. I didn’t want this guy to get away, especially if he heard of Barbosa going down. Madrid had ordered the men to keep their mouths shut about this operation or they wouldn’t have leave for months. They were also ordered to keep my name out of their reports and their reports to be only given to him.

I was whisked to Matheus’s room - a room he stayed while at the base. It was a normal military room, meaning it was plain and white, mostly, Matheus had a little color to the room with his comforter and sheets. Matheus had his own home in Washington but we couldn’t leave the base until the case went to court. Madrid was afraid the guy would try and take me out. I, on the other hand, didn’t think so. I thought he would be running for the hills if he heard I survived.

“Do you want to take a shower while I go get some food?” Matheus asked me. I nodded vigorously He walked over and gave me a kiss and left.

I dug around in rucksack until I found a tee-shirt and shorts. I headed into the bathroom and turned around, forgetting my shampoo and conditioner. I had forgotten I packed them. Considering how long it’s been since I have had a shower I wasn’t surprised. I returned to the bathroom, grabbed a towel and stripped. I turned on the shower, getting it nice and hot, jumping in when it was hot. I scrubbed my face first, getting all the camouflaged paints off my face. When I was finished with my face I started cleaning my body, scrubbing just as hard. I might have felt as if I had taken several layers of skin off but I was clean. I forgot I hadn’t washed my hair. I washed my hair and conditioned it, rinsing and stepping out of the shower. I dried my hair with a towel and brushed it, braiding my hair when I was done. I grabbed my lotion, slathering on my dry skin and got dressed. I dabbed at the water my lotion hadn’t soaked up.

I was about to open the bathroom door when there was a knock on the door. I heard a whistle, telling me it was Matheus or Madrid. I opened the door and smiled. Matheus had brought us both huge plates of food. I thanked Matheus and we started eating. It didn’t take us long to finish eating. Now, I felt as if I was a fat cat and needed a nap until I heard...

"Mate, mate. He’s so perfect. I want mate. Can we mate with him now?” Rawr harped.

"No! Not yet. Behave, you lazy cat,” I answered her, growling at her.

I heard Matheus growl and I started laughing. He looked at me, tilting his head. He caught on quickly and started laughing with me. Both of us calling our jaguars pervert. I felt free after years and years of abuse. I was so glad Barbosa was behind me. I had won and he never thought I would.

I sure hoped he loved it in hell.

We were interrupted by a knock on the door. I moved quickly to stand behind the door. Matheus opened the door and sighed. I knew who it was by the sigh. “Come on in, General.”

I popped up from behind the door and smiled. “Behind the door again, huh?” Madrid asked.

“Always, well, unless I’m underground, in a tube, in a tunnel, or fading into the trees,” I answered and smiled.

“Feel like doing this right now? We need to take this guy down before he tries to rabbit,” Madrid asked and explained all at one time as I nodded my head.

I walked over to a table in the corner of Matheus’s room and sat down. Matheus sat across from me and Madrid sat next to me. He handed me the first book. I went through the first one quickly and handed it back to him, shaking my head no. He handed me the second book. I figured I would be looking at pictures the rest of the night. But, on the second to the last page I found him.

“This is him. There is no doubt. I remember the small scar on his cheek and his cold grey eyes,” I told Madrid. “What’s his handle? He went by Ice with Barbosa.”

Madrid took a hard breath in. “His handle is Ice. He’s a soldier in one of the other units,” Madrid confirmed.

Madrid looked mad as hell. I couldn’t wait to testify against this shit-stain. He made sure weapons were sold to drug dealers - weapons of the U.S. Government. I couldn’t wait for him to be branded as a traitor.

“Thank you, Selina. I’m going to let the Commander know who has been stealing the weapons and let him know we have a witness. Stay safe. I’m not sure what he will try.”

“I would love to show this shit-stain what can melt ice. If he comes at me I will be ready. My mind is always on alert,” I assured Madrid with a wicked smile on my face.

Madrid and Matheus started laughing. I joined them in their laugh-fest. Madrid stood up and saluted me in a cocky manner, leaving just about as quick as he came.

“I’m going to take a shower. I know you have to be tired.” Matheus smiled at me. “I’ll take the floor if you want me-”

“-no, you can sleep in the bed with me. I’m too tired to think about anything else,” I explained, yawning.

“Go get some sleep, Selina. I’ll be out after I scrub all the dirt off my body and hair. I feel as if I was buried in dirt. Oh wait, I was,” Matheus commented, standing up and giving me a kiss on the cheek.

I went and climbed into the bed, asleep before Matheus was even in the shower.

Matheus walked out of the bathroom. “Goodnight, my little warrior.”
