Princess of Faerl

Chapter 43. Training and Headaches

*Elentari*

The next two days went by quickly. Hep had to go back to his realm for the time being, so it wasn’t exactly easy for me. I spent a lot of time trying to learn as much as I could about the world around me and meditating, bringing my power more up to speed. The next two days went by quickly. Hep had to go back to his realm for the time being, so it wasn’t exactly easy for me. I spent a lot of time trying to learn as much as I could about the world around me and doing a good bit of meditating to bring my powers up to speed. Aranelda had some nasty headaches that made him sleep for an entire day. It wasn’t pleasant for the poor guy. He said he could hear Hades talking. Belle had upped her research into protective spells for him and Selene and Helios were doing all they could as well. My Spirit did all they could to assist Selene as Aranelda’s assisted Helios.

The Clearwater and Bronzetail families stayed at the castle for the next couple of days. It was clear that Eliza was a mate of Aranelda’s and she never left his side. Stacie pouted a bit, but I guess Eliza never realized her own sexuality or acknowledged it, so the bond between them was slow going and would be until the dragon girl stopped hiding herself or the twins turned 18.

I found the training room was a favorite spot for me. I took out the Sai and Alke continued to teach me how to use them. I worked on calling my weapons mid-spar and trying to be at one with my body. I was ALWAYS hungry because of this. It was insane. I looked in the mirror and laughed a bit, “I feel like I’m becoming an Amazon!”

“Not far off.” Alke laughed a bit, “You are tall enough and you’re becoming strong enough to be one of my warrior women. You’ll do us proud as an honorary member.” Her smile was bright. She didn’t smile a lot, but today she was. “Hep told me to tell you he’ll be here for your coronation.”

I took a deep breath. Right, princess shit. “Honestly, I don’t know why I need a coronation to be a princess. I get why they would do it for Aranelda, since he will always be a prince, but someday I’ll have to repeat this shit as a queen. Why do it twice?” I mean, I knew the answer already. It had to be done. Didn’t make it less annoying.

“Royalty and their need for order and titles.” Alke handed me a bag, “This was sent by Hermes for tomorrow. Of course, the messenger god and half brother of Hephaestus would know about something as important as an impossible Fate and Destiny bond.” She rolled her eyes, “He wanted to bring it himself, but I told him no need. I think he really just wanted to be able to see you and be nosey.” She winked at me, “I also think he’s a bit jealous.”

I rolled my eyes in return, “Why would he be jealous?” It didn’t make any sense to me. He’s a damn god, he’s got whatever he wants at his fingertips.

“Because Hephaestus is truly the uhm… least attractive out of all the gods. He… doesn’t have charm or charisma, and it’s been said that you’re quite the catch. So he’s probably trying to figure out why Hephaestus got the bond to begin with, and why he got the bond with a beautiful girl to boot.”

I blushed, “I’m just a girl. I’m average, really.” I looked down at my ring and smiled, “And I like the fact that he’s not stuck up or the vision of perfection like some of the other gods that I could have gotten stuck with. I mean… What if I had gotten stuck with Apollo’s jealous ass?” Now my eyes really rolled.

“That would be dangerous indeed and I doubt he would ever let Selene release the body to you once that happened. Hephaestus is quite content not having his aunt’s soul within you. He’s not quite like the others and isn’t really keen on that whole… family closeness stuff.” She laughed a good bit at that point.

I opened the bag, looking at a black sparkly dress with a low sweetheart neckline and floor-length tulle princess dress skirt. I blinked a bit, “Well, it’s obvious someone who DOESN’T know me sent this. Like… at least it’s black?” I scrunch my nose up, “Why a princess skirt? How much fabric is there? I mean I hoped it was leather with how heavy this bag was.” I went and hung up the dress, and took a deep breath. I imagined the changes I wanted to see in the dress. Less tulle, sleeker, corseted waist, I liked the neckline but lining it with lines of the triple moon symbol embroidered in silver.

“Woah..” Alke whispered, “That is quite a different dress.” My fingers traced the fabric as I opened my eyes. I smiled, very happy with my handiwork. The dress was still floor length, but no longer a tulle skirt. Instead, a classy satin material made up the entire dress, the waist had boning embroidered in silver as well. There was a slight bit of train to the dress, also satin. It looked like a lovely wedding dress in black.

“That’s much more my style. Next time anyone wants to send me a dress, if it’s not classy or gothic, they can keep it.” I smiled at her. Then I closed my eyes and created something similar but different in a sky blue color. It had straps that came up from the neckline for lovely full sleeves to attach to, like most vintage renaissance dresses. No corseting on this one and no fancy embroidery, but instead, it was simple and ended just before the floor, with no heels necessary. “You’re going to be there too, right?” I asked her. “What’s your favorite color?”

“If you are asking because of that beautiful bit of fashion you just had appear out of thin air, that one is absolutely breathtaking. Are you sure you want me there, though? One god being there is quite an affair, more than one, and well, you might draw the attention of possibly unwanted powers that be.”

“I’m sure I want my training master there. I’m sure I am proud of all the people that are helping me and my brother so we don’t have to live in fear anymore. You are special to me, as well.” I smiled a bit. “Besides, I’m going to make two in gold, one for Stacie and one for Eliza, and then one in pink with a splash of white for Lily.”

“You never know when to stop, do you? Just like when you train. I’m sure your family will be very appreciative. What about Belle and Alisee?” I tapped my chin thinking, “What about a black and white queen-style dress for the ‘mothers of the princess’?” She offered.

“I think they would like that. But no sleeves on theirs. Train on Belle’s, but not Alisee’s. Yea, I think that’s what I’ll do. Dude, I could make a shop of all these types of dresses and clothes. I don’t even have to make them by hand, just imagine them. This is insane.”

“Magic isn’t infinite. Just keep that in mind, you can overdo it.” Alke reminded me. I nodded softly, whipping up the other two dresses, and sending them off to the appropriate rooms. I sent Alke’s to a room too. “So, with that, I’m guessing you’re giving me a temporary residence?” She asked.

“Yep, that I am.” My smile was small, but I felt so happy. I can’t remember feeling this happy in all my life.

“Why do I get the feeling you may end up a Goddess in your own right after all this, Princess?”

“Oh don’t curse me like that! I’ll be happy simply being by Hep’s side. I don’t need more than that.” My mind was starting to drift to my now fiancé.

“But, you’re mortal. He’s immortal. Something’s gotta give in all that, Elentari. Would you really turn down the opportunity to become a Goddess if it meant that you could stay with Hep and spare him the hurt of watching his Destined die?” She glanced at me, “I’m not trying to tell you what to do, but I am trying to get you to see the bigger picture, young Princess.”

I nodded. I now have more to think about than I ever thought I would. “I will think about it, but now I gotta get some shut-eye. Next stop, coronation bullshit…” Alke laughed at me and shook her head, heading out of the room, looking for the nearest pixie to tell her where her dress went.

My phone started buzzing. All the females were texting in our group asking where the dresses came from.

Liza: This golden dress is magnificent! There are sun’s all over it! Which one of you beauties are responsible for this?*Picture*

Lils: I got a pink and white dress!*Picture*

The Sister:*Picture* Ours match, Eliza…

Mom B: I think I know who did this….

Mom A: Elentari, did you do this?

Me: I got a really pretty dress too!*picture*

Mom B: I still think you did this, darling. They all match to an extent, and the only one who got a dress bag today was you. Alke mentioned something about a gift from Hep’s brother?

Me: Oh that thing was GHASTLY. It was tulle and puffy and girlie. It was freaking AWFUL. These dresses are so much better, and we all match a bit! How cool.

I was trying to play it off and not let them know I did it.

The Sister: I know you did this, you’re like the only one who would do something this nice for all of us, and you’re the only one with the magic skills and/or bank account big enough for something like this. There are real diamond flecks on these dresses! Those aren’t just sparkles! I mean that and the deity connections too. So thank you, El!

Me:*Pouts* I didn’t wanna tell y’all they were from me. Blah. Someone else can get matching crap for the guys though. I’m not doin that one lol. Now I’m going to get some shut-eye. I have just finished training with Alke.

Mom B: Sleep sweet darling. Alisee and I are going to go check on Aranelda, then we’re all going to meet up for dinner. Tomorrow is a big day!

I closed my eyes, happy. I felt like nothing could go wrong.
