Chapter 19. The Snoring Truth
*Elentari*
The next morning I woke up feeling more refreshed than ever. I had spent my sleeping hours meditating with the five souls and learning about who each one was. Of course I knew most of the stories about Selene since even humans read all sorts of novels relating to stories about her and werewolves and what not. To my surprise most of these stories were written by those with at least some fae or were blood. The bigger shock was the lineage of the other souls. Each was a child of a deity of their kind, all Goddesses in their own right or demigods. This information sent me reeling. I have no idea how no one had felt any of this from me. I technically had the blood to rule four different species besides containing the soul of the Mother of all within me. This was absolutely insane.
I went into Stacie’s bathroom as she snored softly. I tried really hard not to giggle. She would be mortified if she knew she snored. Despite doing everything she could to shed the preppy cheerleader image she was keeping the lady like poise. Snoring was not lady like in her opinion. Her hair was also wild and untamed. I looked down at my feet as I went into the bathroom and felt a bit funny. Were my feet…. bigger? I shook my head and it felt extremely heavy. I realized my hair was down by my knees and still white. My shorts that had been mid thigh when I put them on last night were now the equivalent of booty shorts and my top was threatening to leave very little to the imagination as if my torso had been put in a stretch machine, kinda like in Princess Bride. I laughed at that thought but still was disturbed by this sudden change. I took a deep breath, bracing myself to look at the mirror, unsure of what I would find. My skin color was a bit darker but still looked fairly like my own. I lifted my head and gasped. My normally slightly pudgy belly had become flat and slightly toned, my hips had curves for days, and my eyes looked nothing like the bright blue I was used to. Heterochromia is cool, but this was beyond that. One eye was purple and a light shade of red, while the other was blue and silver. Would that be called quadchromia? I turned my head to look at my backside and gasped a bit. I had a booty. Like a real honest to goodness booty. Looking down at my chest my jaw dropped. My normal A cup had exploded. I closed the door quickly and shed my clothing. I normally wore a size 4 in my pants, small in my tops, and had the figure of a prepubescent girl. Nothing much to look at. I felt like I hit the puberty jackpot overnight. I reached my hand up and could touch the ceiling with my fingertips.
I frown about my hair still being white though. I want my color back. While ogling my own breasts I realized the necklace had turned into a tattoo on my skin, reminiscent of the spirits in my zone. “Wow….” I whispered to myself and I swore I heard giggles in my head, not to mention an overly hearty laugh. A knock at the door pulled me out of my trance and I quickly threw on the excuse for clothes that were on the floor. “Yo!” I greeted Stacie, opening up the door, somewhat hiding behind it and ducking my head down a bit, trying to make up for the height difference.
“Girl, how much longer are you going to hog the bathroom? I gotta pee.” She was groggy, obviously having just woken up. Sleepy hoarse voice is what we generally call it. I opened the door all the way and started to leave the bathroom when I realized she was standing there, frozen. If her jaw could unhinge and hit the floor it would have. “Oh… okay then…” She stammered, stepping past me. She went into the bathroom, closed the door, and turned her music on. I retreated as quickly as I could to my little alcove, shaking a bit. I needed to get clothes that fit me properly.
“Tanz…” I whispered hoping it would work and the pleasant pixie would appear.
“Yes my….” She choked on her words, shaking her head and blinking. “Princess…”
“This is why I called you.” I was desperate to feel presentable. “I am in severe need of clothes that fit not only my body but my style. Some hair dye so I can look more how I used to before I go back to my school and have my… Debutante Ball?” I paused for a moment thinking, “I also need contacts that match the color my eyes used to be.” I bit my lip. “I can’t hide all of the changes, but very few people know how short I was, how small my feet were, the color of my skin, or that I had no hips. Only things that would truly give me away are my eyes and hair.” I explained quickly.
“Of course, Your Highness. I must also inform Their Majesties. They will probably make their way to you before I return.” She paused a second, waving her hand and a large shirt with the word Evanescence splashed across it. It was the 2 XL shirt I had kept after my online shopping trip went awry and I received the wrong size. I heaved a sigh of relief. “This should cover you for now.” I thanked her and waited for her to leave before shedding the too small bra and shirt.
I find a brush and start trying to tame my long mane. It took me a few minutes to braid it down to the tip. Doing so seemed to shorten it by six inches so it was a bit closer to my butt than my knees. I wrapped the braid around itself at the base of my neck creating an impossibly thick bun. Belle was the first to arrive, gasping as her eyes landed on me. Her smile was radiant. Alaric showed up seconds later, but was a bit more reserved with his reaction.
“We expected this to happen yesterday. I’m assuming with all the stress and overload of the day, it was delayed.” He starts off, “We did not expect the hair change or body changes. Normally the eyes are the only parts that physically change when the position of Lunar Guardian is accepted as an indication of the soulmeld.”
“Soulmeld? What in Hades is that?” Confusion filled me. My mind and emotions are in chaos.
Belle clicked her tongue disapprovingly. “Selene and your beast souls should have explained this all before you woke.” I felt annoyance rising in me, but it wasn’t mine. I had to laugh a little.
“There is a lot to learn in a short amount of time. Last night each one was going into details of who they are and their abilities. They didn’t want to overwhelm me too much in one night.” My explanation came as a consensus of all the women within. Belle sighed, resigned to settle for the proved answer. “I called Tanz because I need new clothes.” I began to tell them the basics of our conversation this morning and my interaction with Stacie. I was still quite uncomfortable in my new body. I felt I must have grown almost a foot in my sleep.
Belle and Alaric sat on either side of me and each held a hand. “Close your eyes.” Alaric instructed me with a warm smile. I did as asked, closing them. Electricity shot through me. My hair broke out of the bun and braid. I could feel it flying wildly as it did before when I first fully connected with my souls. When we opened our eyes, they both looked at me with wide eyes and reverence. Without being told, I understood what they now knew. I felt like they knew more than I did.
“You’re my parents, why are you looking at me like you are worshiping me? Please don’t. That is very uncomfortable. It’ll be bad enough when outsiders do it. I don’t want my family treating me differently.” I tried to force a giggle to make the situation less awkward but felt all the more strange.
“As you wish, Little Love.” Alaric’s words made me feel warm and fuzzy. At this point Tanz appeared, arms full of bags. She almost couldn’t fly from the weight of the items.
