Chapter 91
Chapter 91 Romantic Relationships
There were several car exhibitions coming up, and the next one was on this weekend. Emily couldn't afford to relax.
While she was watching makeup tutorial videos, Olivia was playing games beside her.
"Emily, do you think Mr. Satan might have a split personality?" Olivia asked. Emily took out her earphones. "Hm?"
"Oh," Olivia stretched lazily and sighed, "You said he wasn't Allen Parker, right? I've been asking friends for information lately. Although there are many wealthy and powerful young men in New York City, there aren't many as formidable as Mr. Satan. I really can't think of anyone else who could be Mr. Satan."
Emily continued watching the video, but lowered the volume slightly. Her attention couldn't fully concentrate on the video anymore. "Mr. Satan has told me many times that he'll tell me the truth, but not now."
"I know, so I'm thinking, maybe there's some secret he can't let everyone know, like he actually has a split personality? I watched a detective movie last night. The killer in the story had a split personality, one was a detective and the other a killer. Wow, he investigated himself, it was so interesting."
"Are you talking about 'Detective's Journal"?" Emily asked.
"Yes, yes, that movie was so good. I think Mr. Satan's situation now is a bit like that protagonist, how else can we have no clues at all?"
Emily put her phone down, her gaze probing. "Didn't 'Detective's Journal' premiere last night?"
"Yeah, it premiered at midnight, and I went to see the first show."
"Oh," Emily chuckled lightly. "I remember your dad imposed curfew on you. You had to be home by ten-thirty. How did you manage to go to the movies? Who did you go with?"
Olivia instantly put on a mournful face. "Don't even mention it. That dead weirdo, Allen Parker, God knows what he was thinking. He insisted I sneak out last night to watch a movie with him. I almost got caught by my dad! I was terrified. Emily, I sacrificed so much for you. If I didn't want to ask Allen Parker about Mr. Satan's clues, I wouldn't have gone to the movies with him in the middle of the night."
Emily felt a pink bubble forming between Olivia and Allen Parker.
She had previously searched online for a lot of information about Allen Parker. He was remarkably similar to Mr. Satan. He had been single all along and admitted to having feelings for a woman.
The woman he liked....
"Olivia, have you started working at Allen Parker's company?"
"I did, but Allen Parker is such an untrustworthy jerk. He initially said he'd make me a broker, but in the end, he made me his secretary! A secretary! With my careless personality, how can I be a secretary? I think he's deliberately making things difficult for me." Emily became more convinced of her own thoughts. "As long as you're in his company, you'll always have a chance to meet your idol."
"Yes," Olivia cheered up. "Allen
Parker impersonated Mr. Satan
before, and Mr. Satan didn't expose him. That means they must know each other privately, right? Now I'm his secretary, I'm with him every day. If he contacts Mr. Satan, I can also gather some information for you."
Emily hugged her. "Olivia, you're so good. Whoever marries you will be so lucky."
"Oh, come on, I can't cook or do housework, and my temper is like a powder keg. Who would want me as a wife?"
Emily said, "Then do you plan to stay single forever?"
Olivia shrugged. "Why not? Marriage is a choice, not a necessity in life. I think I'm fine alone. Why should I step into the grave of marriage?"
"True," Emily nodded. "It's better to find the right person before getting married. If you choose the wrong person, you'll end up like me, so you should be cautious."
Olivia nodded. "Exactly. My dad told
me that your makeup work at these car exhibitions is getting better and better, Emily. Keep it up. I've always thought you're very clever. Smart people excel at whatever they do. I believe in your abilities. When become a broker in the future, you can come to my company to do makeup for the stars! Or you could become a star yourself."
"Sure, I'll count on you for that."
"Deal."
As Emily looked at Olivia, laughing so hard, she felt even more convinced that Mr. Satan's decision was the right one.
If Mr. Satan was her lifebuoy in drowning waters, then Olivia was a little sun, shining into her life during its darkest moments, holding her hand through the toughest times. She was incredibly lucky to have these two people in her life.
"Emily, are you still learning how to do makeup?" Olivia leaned in, then widened her eyes suddenly. "Wow, what's this makeup look?"
"It's a smoky eye," Emily said. "But
this model is Southeast Asian, and she already has big eyes. Smoky eye makeup usually has the effect of enlarging the eyes, but this look makes her eyes look strange, the proportions of her features are off."
Olivia nodded deeply, pursing her lips. "Looks like makeup should really be tailored to the individual. This makeup looks worse on her than not wearing any at all."
Emily nodded. "Yes, the theme of the next car exhibition is heavy metal, so I need to study more. The proportions of each model's features are different, and I need to be fully prepared to avoid mistakes." Another reason Emily was so anxious was that the next car exhibition was in two days.
The timing of these two exhibitions being so close together left her with no time to rest.
Logan Morgan's sudden appearance disrupted her original plans, but she still had to prioritize work. Mr. Satan was right; she had to be confident and strong to face the future calmly.
