Chapter 112
Chapter 112 I Don't Know Her
Not far away, Sophia was straining to listen to Emily's phone conversation.
But Emily didn't say anything useful, just a few "yes" responses that didn't reveal much.
Mr. Satan said, "From now on, don't hang up the phone. Describe to me everything you see in the haunted house, one by one, and I'll help you find the switches." Emily took a deep breath to calm herself.
She looked around and described the scene to him, "It's a circular area, vampire-themed. There are lots of bats and dry branches..."
Mr. Satan paused for a moment and whispered, "Vampires are symbols of demons. Look carefully, do you see anywhere with pentagrams?"
Sophia finally heard Emily speak and approached gently, "Who are you talking to on the phone?"
Emily immediately stepped back, keeping an appropriate distance, and focused on finding the pentagrams.
Soon, she found a pentagram-shaped necklace above a table.
"I found it, it's a necklace."
"Good," Mr. Satan continued, "Do you see any completely dark areas around you?"
"Yes, in the corner to my left."
"Someone dressed as a vampire should come out from there soon. Stay away from that area."
"Okay." Emily now understood the setup here.
As she found the switch, she suddenly heard a piercing scream behind her, "Ah!!!!"
She turned around. Sophia had sneakily stood behind her. There was indeed a dark door in the dark corner to her left, and inside stood a "vampire" covered in blood. Sophia screamed in terror. Sophia couldn't keep her balance and sat directly on the floor. Her ankles in high heels were twisted, and she screamed in panic.
Emily was prepared and remained calm.
She smoothly pressed the pentagram pendant onto the switch.
The door opened.
Sophia sat on the floor, pale with fear. "Emily! Help me!"
Emily glanced at the "vampire" and chuckled lightly, "You should leave, the next room will be even scarier."
Sophia gritted her teeth and refused to leave, "No, I must stay with you today. Herry is my brother, and I have to find him."
"Then can you stand up first?"
How could Sophia stand up?
Her ankle was throbbing with pain, and despite her efforts, she couldn't get up.
Emily directly addressed the "vampire," "Sorry, she's pregnant. Could you please escort her out? If she miscarries here, it's your responsibility."
The "vampire" was also frightened and quickly took out a walkie-talkie from his pocket, "...A pregnant woman fell, please send someone to escort her out..."
A few minutes later, several staff members arrived on the scene. They carefully helped Sophia up, "Madam, are you okay?"
Sophia's plan failed, and she dropped the act, "I'm fine! I'm not leaving! I want to stay and find my brother! Let go of me!"
"Sorry, we have regulations here, pregnant women are not allowed inside for safety reasons. You should leave first. We will search for your brother."
"Then you shouldn't let her in either!" Sophia pointed at Emily, "She's also pregnant!"
"What?" The staff members all looked bewildered, turning to Emily. "Madam, are you pregnant too? We're sorry, but we don't allow pregnant women to enter..." Emily blinked and whispered softly, "I don't know her."
The staff members were further puzzled, "Huh?"
"Emily, you're talking nonsense! How can you not know me?"
"Madam," Emily's expression turned cold, "Since we entered the haunted house, you've been sticking to me. You've been talking to me, and I haven't responded to you. But your actions are too suspicious. Why do you insist on standing so close to me? What are you up to?
Sophia bit her lip. "I... I'm afraid of the dark! So I wanted to stand closer to you!"
"Oh, I see," Emily chuckled lightly. "Since you're afraid of the dark, you should leave. I don't know you, and if something happens to you, I can't take responsibility." Sophia was angry. "What are you playing at? Why are you pretending not to know me?"
"I'm not lying. There are surveillance cameras here. Since we came in, I haven't acknowledged you. You've been getting close to me, grabbing my arm, and behaving strangely. Are you trying to steal something or extort me?"
As soon as these words came out, the staff members looked at Sophia with a different expression.
Last month, there was news about a
pregnant woman deliberately
playing on a highly dangerous amusement ride and suffered a miscarriage. Eventually, the court awarded the woman $200,000 in compensation from the amusement park.
The staff members became alert all of a sudden.
Sophia was pregnant. Why was she wearing high heels to a haunted house? Did she also intend to extort money by causing a miscarriage? Sophia looked flustered, feeling guilty.
Emily sneered, delivering the final blow, "I have no money. Even if you try to extort me, I have nothing to give you."
She may not have money, but the amusement park does!
The staff members quickly brought in a stretcher, their attitude becoming much firmer. "Madam, we'll take you to the hospital now to ensure your safety."
