Chapter Remarriage You 421
Chapter 421 She Despises Mistresses The Most
Bella was curious. "Wasn't it an accident? What new discovery could there possibly be?"
"I'm not entirely sure. We've already made peace, so the police station shouldn't have continued the investigation. Could it be that Mr. Saltzman's people found something while they were looking for him?" "Hmm, I don't think that's it. I wanted to ask my dad for help at the time, but before he could even lift a finger, the car owner had already been escorted to the police station."
"In that case, I'll go over there and see what's happening first."
Lenora rose to her feet. "You guys carry on; I'll take my leave now. Let's meet again another day."
"All right."
Lenora picked up her bag, left the private room, and headed toward the elevator.
As she rounded the corner, her steps faltered.
Ahead, by the restroom entrance, a woman was tightly embracing a man from behind.
The man had gold-rimmed glasses and was in a light blue shirt, his sleeves rolled up to his elbows.
The woman had long, wavy hair and wore a designer maxi dress.
Her side profile looked somewhat familiar to Lenora.
It seemed to be Alice, whom she had encountered the other day at Rovelton Manor.
Without thinking, Lenora instinctively took out her phone to snap a picture.
Unfortunately, she forgot to turn off the shutter sound.
Click!
The man immediately pulled away from the woman's grasp, striding purposefully toward Lenora. He gazed at her with a serious expression, his eyes deep and inscrutable. "Lenora, delete the photo."
"What if I don't delete it?" Lenora crossed her arms, staring at Zephyr. "Zephyr, you already have a girlfriend, so why are you still bothering Sophia? Do you want her to be the other woman? Don't you know how much she despises mistresses?" "First, delete the photo, then I can explain..."
"Don't worry. As long as you stop pestering Sophia, this photo won't ever appear in her life."
Zephyr took a deep breath and said, "I have no connection with this woman. She's the one who's been clinging to me."
"Oh really?" Lenora scoffed. "Then why didn't you push her away? Why did you wait until I saw you two before taking any action?"
"1..."
"Enough, you don't need to explain anything to me."
Without saying another word to Zephyr, Lenora sidestepped him and left.
Alice moved to stand beside Zephyr, her gaze following the retreating figure of Lenora. She looked up at Zephyr, her eyes filled with curiosity as she asked, "Caesare, do you know her?" Wasn't that Bella's friend, Fay?
Zephyr didn't respond to the question, instead saying, "Alice, I've already made it clear to you, I don't like you. Please don't bother me anymore in the future."
"You're single right now, so why can't I pursue you?" Alice glanced in the direction where Lenora had left. "Or do you already have someone you like?"
"Yes, there is someone, so it's impossible for us to be together. I advise you to give up sooner rather than later."
Alice's face stiffened momentarily before she abruptly turned to look at him. "Who is it?"
Zephyr, however, paid no further heed to her, striding back into the private room.
Alice gritted her teeth.
I clearly heard Caesare explaining to Fay, claiming he has no relationship with me whatsoever. That means he must have feelings for her. Otherwise, he wouldn't have bothered explaining to her. Alice swiftly called Isla.
Isla stealthily slipped out of the private room before answering her phone. "Alice, how did it go? What did Caesare say?"
It was only because Isla had tipped off Alice today that Alice knew Zephyr was here.
Alice lowered her head, a look of disappointment crossing her face. Heartbroken, she said, "He told me he's in love with someone else and that he will never be with me." "That's impossible."
""It's true."
"But all these years, I've never seen him treating any woman in any special way."
"I saw that woman. Just now, I personally witnessed Caesare stopping her and explaining the situation to her, probably afraid that she might misunderstand." Alice sighed, feigning strength. "Isla, let it be. If he doesn't like me, then he just doesn't. I think I'm ready to give
up."
"No, you mustn't give up! You're the daughter-in-law my parents have chosen, my future sister-in-law. Rest assured, my parents will never acknowledge those nobodies and allow them to marry into the Wilson family."
"But he doesn't like me," Alice said, hiding her face as she turned away.
"He will. Do you know the name of the woman he likes? What does she look like?"
"All I know is that it's a Clusian woman named Fay, a friend of Bella's. She must have recently come to Muprary. Didn't Caesare just visit Clusia not too long ago?"
Isla was stunned.
Fay? Clusian? Bella's friend?
There was no need to pause and think about it. Isla was certain it was the same woman she knew.
Isla recalled that Caesare had indeed spent a few months in Clusia not too long ago and had only recently returned.
Similarly, Fay had also arrived in Atharia just a few days prior.
Isla then thought back to the earlier scene in the private room. As soon as Ezekiel mentioned the need to apologize to Fay, Zephyr immediately inquired about the situation and then insisted that she apologize to Fay. Could it be that the person Caesare truly fancied was Fay?
Isla was beyond upset.
D*mn it! I'm utterly livid! Why?
From the moment Fay arrived, she quickly became friends with Bella. Jermaine was always there to lend her a hand, while Ezekiel was always protecting her. Isla's other friends also spoke highly of her, and now, even her brother Caesare had feelings for her! Alice noticed the change in Isla's expression. "What's the matter? Do you know Fay?"
Isla gritted her teeth and replied, "Know her? That's an understatement... Hmph! Just you wait! There's no way I'm letting her marry into the Wilson family!"
How dare that impoverished country bumpkin even think about getting with my brother?
She needs to take a good look at herself in the mirror. Does she seriously think she's worthy?
What a case of asking for the moon!
"Isla, thank you, but I'm scared it might affect your relationship with Caesare."
"It won't. Think about it, he hasn't been back in so many years, so how much affection could he possibly have for Fay? I refuse to believe that he would sever ties with me for a woman. Besides, Mom and Dad like you too."
A glint flashed in Isla's eyes as she further solidified her resolve.
Only after Lenora went to the police station did she learn more about the truth of her run-in with that sedan.
As it turned out, her getting grazed by the vehicle was no accident.
The owner of the sedan had received instructions from someone else, and that mastermind was none other than Ivan.
Lenora was in sheer disbelief.
Why had Ivan targeted her like this?
What had she ever done to offend him?
Despite spending a month in the studio, Lenora was not well-acquainted with the other photographers. This was primarily because the photographers spent most of their time either in the studio or on location.
As for Ivan, she merely knew of his existence, so why did he harbor such a strong hostility toward her?
Ivan had already been brought to the police station.
When questioned by the police, Ivan truthfully confessed everything.
Upon learning about his motive, Lenora found it to be utterly absurd and ridiculous.
Ivan had planned all this because he wanted to personally photograph Bella. However, Bella declined his offer. Driven by jealousy, he then deliberately provided false testimony to Isla.
It was simply outrageous.
There Lenora had been, living her life peacefully, yet somehow she had unknowingly offended Ivan, which led to him going off the deep end.
Lenora was extremely curious, wondering how the police had managed to uncover this matter.
She and Bella both thought it was just an ordinary traffic accident.
The police officer at the station informed her that the person who had discovered this matter was the one who had initially brought the owner of the small sedan to the police station. Such a kind-hearted person.
Lenora speculated that they might have been a witness at that time, so she asked, "Who is it?"
She wanted to express her sincere gratitude toward the person.
The officer said, "His name is Tom, and he didn't leave any contact information."
In an instant, Lenora was reminded of Tom Cat. It was just a pity he had not left any contact information. "All right then."
The following day, Lenora made her way to the cosmetic company to participate in an advertising shoot.
