Chapter 152
Chapter 153: The Rooftop Restaurant
Penelope POV
The shopping was an extravagant affair. I loved it. The best part was that I didn't feel guilty of spending a lot of money. I had to buy dresses for myself and some interior décor that I had thought of for our new house. Gerhardt had given me locations of the shops where I could find antique pieces
After ordering around and asking them to deliver to our hotel, I was feeling hungry
Havel's Mall had a great rooftop restaurant that I had only heard of when I was back in school. It was for all the rich kids whose parents indulge
them. I hadn't been there even once and so it was out of curiosity that I pressed the button for the elevator to go there
Both the warriors who were with me followed me everywhere and I liked it because it gave me a sense of protection. As soon as the doors of the elevator opened, I found myself looking straight into the eyes of Ezra, Madam Lestrange's son. I stiffened. Fear plagued me. He was with a girl who appeared enticed by him. She was looking at Ezra like he was her world. My primal instinct was to warn her that she was with a predator whose mother would sell her in the blink of an eye
'He is nothing,' Ria goaded me from inside
'Don't be afraid of people like him.'
Ezra narrowed his eyes at me and upon recognition, his lips lifted in a smirk. "Hello Penelope," he said in a smug voice
I felt so repulsed that I didn't feel like entering the lift, but if I did that, I would show my weakness to him. I would never show that again to him. The two warriors behind me tensed. I knew that if I asked, they would kill him
Without acknowledging him, I stepped in the elevator, because I felt like confronting him. I wanted to ask him numerous questions but I didn't want to ask them in front of the warriors because I knew that if the word leaked, it would take a few minutes for the whole pack to gossip about their new Luna
The warriors entered behind and punched the button to the rooftop restaurant
"How are you, Penelope?" Ezra said in his smug voice. And I immediately wanted to smother him
"Lam very well, Ezra," I replied with confidence and with my chin up. "But it seems that you are still in the same rut." I waved at him and his girl. "Are you still in the old flesh trade that you help your mother with?"
Ezra's face morphed into anger and his hands lifted to hit me, but my warriors growled at him and he backed off. The girl who was with him was stunned. Her gaze drifted from me to Ezra. I gave her a knowing smile and a wink. The
moment the elevator's door opened, the girl stomped out of it showing her middle finger to Ezra and me. She rushed away from there and from the sound of it, I knew that she had taken the stairs. From the looks of him, I knew Ezra lost a potential candidate for the House of Red Doors
I stepped out and walked in the restaurant, silently commanding my warriors to stay out
Ezra walked right inside after me. Good
One glance at the rooftop restaurant and I knew why it was such a popular place. There were wicker tables and chairs spread in a small open area. Every arrangement was beneath a yellow umbrella, giving the place a vibrant look. Lilies and tulips were 1n full bloom everywhere and lined the periphery. The glass railing was tall,
almost the size of Drexel's height. I noticed that the place was mostly empty
I spotted a private stall that was lined with wood partitions from where I could see the town and walked there. I knew that Ezra was still following me. I made myself comfortable and placed my shopping bags on the chairs beside me. And as I had predicted, Ezra slid on a chair in front of me. I had to say that he was keeping his manners on
"Why are you here, Ezra?" I said, looking at the menu
He studied me and cocked his head. "I see that you have grown pretty confident. Who owns you now?"
I tsked. "I pity you so much. That is how you talk to all the women you know? You really had a flawed upbringing because you can't even start a normal conversation. Wait. How can you? Your mother is so deep into flesh trade, that is the terminology you have grown and known to
,,
use
He hissed. "Shut up, bitch! I can have you shredded and sell each of that piece to someone who would fuck it!"
I raised my eyebrow, looking at his twisted face and then let out a soft laughter. "See, what I mean? You are incapable of having a normal conversation. But-" I flipped the menu's page
"By the way, do you know who your father is? I bet you don't. So you shut up, bloody bastard!"
His breath became labored. Through his clenched teeth, he hissed, "Oh Penelope, it would be so good to get you back on that stage in front of the buyers, and I will make sure that you are sold to Nash Perez!" He took his phone out and started typing a message. He pressed the send button and it swooshed into the cyberspace
I took a deep breath. "You shouldn't have done that, Ezra," I said with a slight shrug. "Those are bad manners."
"Lam going to teach you good manners, Penelope! Oh, I am so going to teach you good manners. I am going to fuck you hard and then sell you. Iam going to shoot my release down that smart mouth of yours so hard that you
wouldn't know who you are! I am going to "
Suddenly, ferocious growls and snarls were heard. Ezra whipped his head to look at his right and I turned my head with a smile. Five werewolves whom I didn't know had come inside the restaurant along with the two warriors. Tall and muscular, they looked so intimidating that no one in the restaurant, even the staff had the gall to come to them. They all came to our table
As soon as they came to stand next to our table, they bowed to me. "Luna."
I don't know how, but they must have sensed me and the situation I was in. I knew that werewolves hung amongst the humans. But
sensing my distress was another thing. They must be in the vicinity and came rushing here when they thought that I was in danger
And I knew that it was Ria's power
I scoffed at Ezra. "What were you saying?"
Ezra seemed to shrink in his place as he stared with wide eyes at the bulky men who towered him. "Wh-who are they?" he asked
"My guardians," I replied. Without looking at them, I said, "If you see this man again, throw him down from a tall building."
"Yes Luna."
The doors of the restaurant opened with a bang and Drexel walked in
