Chapter 557
After returning home, Lucy discovered a huge blister on her heel.
It was because she had taken a long and winding route to Chloe's house to help reconcile Hudson and Chloe today.
Back at the villa, Lucy felt like collapsing onto the couch and never getting up again.
When Matthew got home, he found her sprawled on the bed, frowning with her eyes tightly shut. She was clearly exhausted. Matthew did not understand why she was this exhausted when all she did was go to Hudson's company. "Lulu, are you okay?"
Matthew called out her name a few times and gently nudged her awake.
Half-asleep, Lucy murmured, "You're back? I'm really tired today."
"What happened? Did Hudson give you a hard time?"
"Not at all. Mr. Xender is really nice. I was actually helping him with something else today."
"Something else? What is it?"
"I was helping him with a major life crisis."
Lucy stared at the ceiling, recalling all that she had done recently. Besides learning about fashion design with Koven, she was mediating relationship disputes between Chelsea and Hugh and worrying about the most important events of Hudson's and Chloe's lives. She felt like she had turned into a marriage counselor.
"What major life crisis could Hudson possibly have?"
"Why not? Everyone has to get married eventually. Isn't that considered a major life event?"
"Hudson is getting married?"
Lucy was dumbfounded by
Matthew's naivety. "Matt, don't underestimate others. Hudson has a childhood sweetheart, but she's ignoring him right now, so I just helped him out a little."
"So, did your intervention make this childhood sweetheart of his stop ignoring him now?"
Lucy sighed. "No."
Matthew shrugged, indicating that he had already figured that out.
"Looks like your mediation skills could use some improvement."
"Oh, come on! Remember what happened with Chelsea and Hugh? I managed to resolve their issue. It's just that Hudson and Chloe's situation is completely different."
Chelsea and Hugh were mutually aware of each other's feelings, and they were truly in love, so it was just a matter of clearing up misunderstandings between them.
No matter how forgiving and understanding Chloe was, considering what Hudson had done to her, it was difficult to expect her to forgive him in such a short time.
It was a shame that Hudson failed to appreciate a nice woman like Chloe.
"After hearing about what Chloe did
for Hudson today, I felt sorry for her too. If they really want to reconcile, there's nothing much an outsider can do. I hope Hudson understands what I told him!" en FindNovel
"Why are you always worrying about others? Have you taken care of your own affairs?"
He just had to go there! Was Matthew not confident in her?
"Don't worry. I passed all the tests, and I'm now officially the chief designer."
Matthew cupped Lucy's cheeks and said, "I don't care about anyone else's matters. To me, your matters are the most important."
