Chapter 899
X smirked and remarked, "Mandy, some people think vows won't come true. I assume you're not that naive."
Despite sensing the threat from X, Mandy remained unfazed. In fact, without X's covert assistance, her life would have long
descended into chaos. X had helped her time and again—she couldn't help but feel grateful.
"Boss, I don't quite understand why you want me to be an emotional guide for Bradley."
From what Mandy knew of Bradley, he genuinely loved Esther. The problem was that he didn't know how to express it. However,
she couldn't comprehend why X wanted her to do this.
"Devastate him rather than kill him."
It wasn't until the call ended that Mandy finally grasped the significance behind those words.
If X's enemy was Bradley, merely taking Bradley's life wouldn't be sufficiently gratifying.
At that moment, Mandy had a sudden realization. Regardless of X's motives, Bradley was her enemy. If her enemy was
unhappy, she'd find satisfaction in that.
Thinking of Leah's imminent arrival, Mandy had no interest in meddling with Bradley's affairs. She solely wanted to prepare
everything for Leah, and the two could depend on each other.
Although Mandy couldn't reveal to the world that she was Leah's biological daughter, Liliane, it didn't matter. As long as they
were together, nothing else mattered.
Mandy zealously bought Leah the clothes, skincare products, and jewelry she needed, intending to make amends to her mother.
Meanwhile, Bradley stared at the teapot before him. Its water was bubbling with white smoke.
Esther's face resurfaced in his mind—it was from their marriage when Esther looked charming with eyes that sparkled.
He reached out, fingers lightly brushing the white smoke above the teapot. Through the mist, he seemed to see the face he
longed for, and his heart pounded uncontrollably.
Finally, he made up his mind and called Kevin. -
Half an hour later, Kevin hurried there, surprised at Bradley's urgency. "Bradley, couldn't this have been discussed over the
phone?"
Ignoring Kevin's complaint, Bradley asked, "Kevin, I love Esther, right?" This unexpected question put Kevin on alert. He
hesitated before replying, "Whether you love Esther or not shouldn't be something I answer."
Bradley stared at Kevin, his eyes akin to a blade in the dark night.
Kevin straightened his posture, unfazed by Bradley's intense gaze.
"Arrange for me to have a typing test."
Kevin was rendered speechless. Frankly speaking, even if Bradley's kidney was a perfect match for Esther, Kevin believed she
would prefer death over accepting his kidney.
"I want her to live."
At Bradley's determined words, Kevin calmly replied, "Bradley, considering your recent liver transplant, it's unlikely any doctor will
perform a kidney transplant on you in your current physical condition."
"What should I do then?"
"I've already asked for a search. We'll probably have news in a while," Kevin assured him.
"I need to be tissue-typed."
After a moment of silence, Kevin said, "Fine."
