Chapter 853
Clark was unaware of the profound impact of his words on Bradley. Sighing inwardly, he realized that someone born into
privilege, like Bradley, might struggle to truly empathize with ordinary people. From birth, individuals like Bradley stood at the
pinnacle, commanding the world and appearing invincible.
“Esther gave birth to twin daughters and a son in the prison hospital. The son is Felix, and Cole took away the twin daughters.”
Clark stated.
Bradley was well aware of Clark’s words. Regarding the whereabouts of his daughters, Cole held the most information.
Unfortunately, Cole was no longer in this world.
“I investigated Cole’s background. Sponsored by Mr. Thomas, he regularly visited Sunflower Welfare when alive.
“He did this partly because he was an orphan himself and partly because he showed special attention to Pixie and Tinkerbell.
The staff at Sunflower Welfare can confirm this.
“As for why the DNA tests for Pixie and Tinkerbell don’t match, I suspect someone swapped the children...”
Clark’s idea was bold.
Bradley asked, “Who would swap Esther’s and my children?”
“I believe the person who swapped them is the same person who framed Esther for infidelity and caused Mr. Thomas’s death...”
Clark had been investigating events from five years ago, but he hadn’t uncovered the truth and had gotten involved in an
accident. Now, with his disability, he was even less able to investigate.
“That’s all I know,” Clark said.
Clark wanted to find the person who framed Esther, but Liliane was dead. Even Leah and Shane didn’t provide useful
information. Both were exceptionally cautious, and they revealed no clues, even in their sleep talk.
After Esther’s incident, Bradley had been in despair, as if nothing in the world could pique his interest. Xara, Bethany, and Clark’s
words had unwittingly pulled Bradley back into the world.
All the hustle and bustle of life, love and hate, resentment and sorrow, were part of life.
Bradley looked at Clark and asked slowly, “Clark, are you happy now?”
Seeing Clark’s smile just outside the door made Bradley feel a tinge of envy.
“Very happy.” Clark added, “I used to be the butler of the Warners. Although it wasn’t as precarious as walking on thin ice every
day, my heart still lurched as I feared letting down Mr. Thomas.
“Now that I am retired, I am living out my days with my wife and children. I have time to accompany Daphne. She has planted
many flowers in the flower room and grows many vegetables in the garden.
“Bradley, even the most passionate love eventually returns to plainness. I used to hope, like Mr. Thomas, that you could live a
safe and happy life.
“I saw the reward you posted online. I understand that you may not move on for a while, but... life is still long. Not to mention the
distant future, you also need to think about Felix, just like Mr. Thomas did for you back then.”
Bradley took out his phone and withdrew the reward for information about Esther. In the past six months, he had lived in a daze,
seemingly unable to accept reality. He always had this illusion.
