Chapter THE NECKLACE II
Detective John asked Fawmus, Uncle James, and Adewale ″does it glow like this always?″
″No, it doesn’t. It never glows, it just started now″ said Adewale to Detective John.
″The necklaces don’t just make them feel each other, they also allow them to communicate with each other. We would have done a lot with the necklace if I had seen it earlier. Notwithstanding, it should be able to lead us to Deo″ said Fawmus.
″How is it .......″ said uncle James
Uncle James was cut short of words as the necklace suddenly lifted itself from the table and went to stand in front of Detective John, levitated and glowing, and they were all surprised even Fawmus.
Detective John looked at Adewale and asked him ″what’s going on? Why is it standing in front of me?″, and they all looked at Fawmus for an answer.
Fawmus noticed and understood why they were looking at him then he said to them ″I...don’t know″.
″What is the necklace doing then?″ asked Detective John, now staring at the necklace.
″For it to stop in front of you, I think it wants to be touched by you″ said uncle James to Detective John.
“That can’t be right. Why would it want me to touch it?” asked Detective John.
“Uncle may be right, or why will it be standing in front of you″ said Adewale to Detective John.
″Are you sure about that?″ Detective John asked Adewale.
“We will only find out if you touch it” said uncle James to John.
″Okay glowing necklace, be nice″ said Detective John, and then touched the necklace ornament with three of his fingers.
Immediately Detective John touched the ornament, the ornament burnt his fingers leaving a mark of the burn on his fingers and a drop of his blood on the necklace then said ″ouch″, as he felt the pain and quickly retracted his fingers from the necklace ornament.
Everyone was confused about what happened because they only saw Detective John react to pain and the blood on the necklace ornament as the necklace remained levitated. Uncle James asked Detective John ″what happened?″.
″Don’t you see it just burned my fingers and my blood on the necklace″ said Detective John annoyed, as he checked his burnt fingers.
″Wow, I guess it doesn’t want you to touch it. We were wrong then″ said Adewale.
As Detective John checked on his burnt fingers he suddenly saw them healing themselves and he was shocked and amazed. Detective John said out loud happily ″my fingers are healing themselves″.
“You welcome to the circle once again. That is another proof that you are connected to Adewale and Adetutu. Not just your wound healing itself not even a bomb can kill you″ said Uncle James to Detective John.
“For real! That will be nice” said Detective John (with a smile), and his burnt fingers fully healed then the necklace moved to uncle James and stopped at his front still levitated and glowing.
″Why is it standing in front of me now?″ asked uncle James, seeing the necklace in front of him.
″The same thing it wants with me. You should also touch it″ Detective John answers uncle James.
″Am not touching it″ uncle James disagreed.
“There must be a reason the necklace is behaving in this way. You have to touch it too, Domien″ said Fawmus to uncle James, then uncle James had no choice but to touch the necklace.
Uncle James did touch the necklace ornament and it burned his fingers. A drop of his blood also fell on the necklace ornament and his fingers healed themselves just like John then the necklace left for Fawmus’s front.
″I should be able to touch it without getting hurt″ said Fawmus with confidence before touching the necklace.
Fawmus touched the necklace but it also burnt his fingers. A drop of his blood fell on the necklace and his fingers healed themselves while uncle James laughed at Fawrus making jest at the words he said earlier.
The necklace stopped in front of Adewale still levitated but glowing brighter and they all wondered why it did that. Detective John said ″hope the necklace is not malfunctioning?″.
″Are you dumb? Something like this doesn’t malfunction when it is not a machine. It glows brighter because it is in front of Adewale. Its owner″ said uncle James to Detective John.
A FEW MINUTES LATER
Adewale hasn’t touched the necklace and the others realized he didn’t want to. Fawmus asked Adewale ″why are you not touching it?“.
″Am just taking my time” lied Adewale because he was scared to touch it and not get his fingers burned like the others.
Uncle James smirked and said to Adewale ″you have got to be joking right? All you need to do is just touch the ornament, why will you be wasting time to do that?″.
″I know you are scared but don’t be. It’s only a small burn it can’t kill you″ said Detective John to Adewale.
″I think you better touch it now so we can know why the necklace wants to be touched by everyone″ said Fawmus to Adewale. Adewale had no choice but to do as they all say.
Adewale stretched his right hand forward slowly to touch the necklace ornament scared of the burn but to his surprise, his fingers didn’t burn when he touched the necklace ornament and all the drops of blood on the necklace ornament suddenly dried up on the necklace ornament forming a circle on the necklace ornament. The others saw that Adewale didn’t flinch or make any reaction to pain which meant the necklace didn’t hurt him and they were surprised.
Detective John said ″it didn’t burn him″.
“Now I understand. The necklace was trying to bond with us before going to his master. And don’t ask any question, I don’t know why it wants to bond with us″ said Fawmus, then Adewale took the necklace and wore it around his neck.
Immediately after Adewale wore the necklace he saw a vision. Adewale saw Adetutu being tied to a chair in an uncompleted building. Adewale said to the others ″I know where she is″, as the vision left.
″Know who?″ asked uncle James.
″I just saw a vision of Adetutu being tied to a chair in an uncompleted building just as I wore the necklace″ said Adewale.
″That’s a good thing. The necklace is helping us and now we know she is safe″ said Fawmus.
″But wait how do we fight Fawrus and the split ones if Fawmus is the only one with powers here″ asked uncle James.
″Uncle is right. We can’t attack Fawrus unarmed thinking Fawmus will protect us all because he won’t be able to protect every one of us″ said Adewale.
″I think I can help with that″ said Detective John and stood up.
Detective John went to the wall (at the left side of the room) and inserted one of his fingers into a hole then the wall opened up revealing a very small room where arms and police kits could be seen. Uncle James and Adewale were surprised that such a room could be there. Uncle James stood up and said ″that’s just what we need″.
“But we don’t know how to shoot or use a gun” said Adewale.
“Well, that is the most surprising thing about you gods. You don’t need to learn how to do things. Once you are ready to do it you will do it without knowing how” said Fawmus.
“What about we that are not gods?” asked Detective John, looking at Fawmus who looked at him back.
“You are also supernatural since you are linked to the gods. You also have your own special power. So let go get Deo” said Fawmus.
NIGHT
Uncle James, Adewale, and Detective John were all dressed in police kits looking like policemen going to war against criminals except Fawmus. They were equipped with a double barrel gun, and knives and wore bulletproof each. They also load bullets in a briefcase in case of necessity. Before they step out of the safe house Detective John asks uncle James and Adewale if they know how to use a gun except for what Fawmus said and they say to him “With what we have seen and encountered we don’t need a teacher to teach us how to kill a monster. We will kill it just the way we see fit, and with what Fawmus said, we won’t have trouble killing monsters”.
The four of them came out of the safe house holding their weapons and Detective John carrying the briefcase except Fawmus who held nothing, and before them was Fawrus’s sports car and a Hilux car. Uncle James and Detective John smiled upon seeing the sports car then Uncle James said ″we are taking the sports car″.
″The sport it is″ replied Detective John.
Detective John and uncle James walk to the sports car while Fawmus doesn’t move making Adewale also not to, seeing that Fawmus doesn’t move where he stands looking at uncle James and Detective John. As uncle James and Detective John both got to the sports car, they both opened the car doors and were greeted by an unpleasant smell. They both covered their noses and hurriedly closed the car door.
Uncle James said (annoyingly) ″the car stinks″, while Adewale smiled then uncle James and Detective John walked back to Fawmus.
Upon getting to Fawmus, uncle James said to him ″You could have told us the car stunk″.
“You choose the car yourself. We are taking the Hilux″ said Fawmus, and walked to the Hilux car then they followed.
Fawmus in the driver’s seat, Adewale beside him, uncle James and Detective John in the back seat. Fawmus ignited the car and asked Adewale ″where do we turn to, the right or left?″.
Adewale touched the necklace ornament (still glowing) and closed his eyes thinking he would see a vision or anything but he saw nothing.
″What did you see?″ uncle James asked Adewale as Adewale opened his eyes.
″Nothing″ replied Adewale.
″Maybe you should try again″ said Detective John to Adewale.
Adewale tried the second time and still saw nothing. Adewale opened his eyes and said (angrily) ″it not working, I can’t see shit″, then removed his hand from the necklace.
″Oh God″ said uncle James.
″It worked before why is it not working now″ said Fawmus.
″I told you the necklace is crazy. Maybe what he saw before was not even real″ said Detective John.
″It has to work ’cause if it doesn’t we won’t be able to find Adetutu″ said uncle James.
″Or maybe it needs some touching again″ said Detective John.
″Are you in your right senses now″ said Fawmus to Detective John.
Detective John didn’t mind what Fawmus said and stood up a bit to touch the necklace ornament. Detective John touched the necklace ornament and it only burnt his finger and it healed back.
″This guy is going crazy″ said uncle James, as Detective John sat down back.
″You are next Mr. James″ said Detective John to uncle James.
″You must be crazy if you expect me to touch the necklace again″ said uncle James (annoyingly) to John.
″Why would you want us to touch the necklace again?″ Fawmus asked Detective John.
″Because it already has our blood but needs our link with Adetutu to work which it gets from our touch. Touch of all those who are connected to Adetutu″ said Detective John with seriousness.
″Are you sure about that?″ Fawmus asked John.
″About what?″ asked Detective John, acting like he never said anything.
″What you just said. About everyone touching the necklace″ said Fawmus to John.
″I never said anything like that″ said Detective John.
″Are you trying to joke right now?″ said Fawmus to John.
″No am not. I have no idea what you are talking about. I never said anything″ said Detective John with seriousness.
″Are you crazy or what? You just said the necklace needs the touch of everyone to work″ said uncle James to John.
″I never said such a thing. I only said that you are the next person to touch the necklace″ said Detective John ( now confused) to uncle James.
″Are you trying to deny what you said? Or maybe it is your brain that is malfunctioning″ said uncle James to John.
“Why are you also accusing me of what I did not say” said Detective John.
″Do you really have no idea that you said such a thing?″ Fawmus asked John.
″Why will say something and deny that I did not? I don’t know what you are all talking about″ said Detective John.
Fawmus said ″If he doesn’t know that he said those words it only means one thing....“, Fawmus paused as he thought for some second and then continued “It’s the necklace that talks through him, not him....... Domien, touch the necklace″.
″Are you really gonna believe him, he is crazy″ said uncle James to Fawmus.
″Am not crazy and I did not say anything″ said Detective John, insisting he said nothing.
″Just touch the necklace, Domien″ said Fawmus to uncle James.
″Come on, it’s only a small burn″ said Detective John (smiling) to Uncle James.
″This guy (John) is really crazy. I didn’t know coming back from the dead can change human″ said uncle James.
“You also come back from the dead if am right” said Detective John to uncle James.
″Enough of all this drama and just touch it, uncle″ said Adewale to uncle James.
Uncle James touched the necklace, it burned his finger and it healed up, the same as Fawmus.
Adewale touched the necklace with his eyes closed again expecting to see a vision but saw nothing. He said ″it didn’t work″, angrily as he let go of the necklace.
″I told you something is wrong with John’s brain″ said uncle James, then suddenly the ornament lifted itself slowly.
″What is it doing now?″ asked uncle James, as they saw what the necklace was doing then the necklace ornament turned to the left side and stopped levitating.
″I think it just showed us the direction. It just showed us where to turn to″ said Fawmus.
″Then what are you still waiting for. Drive″ said Detective John, then fawmus turn the car left.
