Chapter THE NECKLACE
EVENING
Adewale, uncle James, and Fawmus (Fawmus still in his position) spend their time watching TV while they wait for Detective John to come back from the dead. Meanwhile, Uncle James was happy that their names were no longer on the criminal list and were no longer wanted when he watched the news. Uncle James said out loud ″my family will be happy to see that we are no longer a fugitive″.
″That is if they know about all that is happening.
And not just that, the company will also return to the way it once was now that our name has been cleared″ said Adewale.
″Is that what you both are supposed to be thinking about right now when we don’t know where the poison that can kill Fawrus is″ said Fawmus to Adewale and uncle James.
Adewale and uncle James thought about what Fawmus said then heard a voice say behind them ″it is right here″.
The three of them looked back to see Detective John awake. Detective John had already grown a new heart, the hole in his chest close up, and he was looking confused seeing that he was alive.
Detective John (shocked and surprised to see himself alive) said to the three of them ″would anybody like to explain to me how come am still alive right now if that demon took out my heart″.
“Welcome to the circle, Detective″ said uncle James to Detective John.
“What fucking circle? How am I still alive?” asked Detective John, puzzled with what going on but no one gave him any response.
Detective John sat down on one of the vacant chairs and placed the poison in front of him on the table, Fawmus turned his chair to face everyone. “Would anyone please answer my questions?” said Detective John.
“Would you first take this and relax?” said Fawmus to Detective John, as he pointed a bottle of water at him.
Detective John took the water and drank to calm himself. After drinking the water and relaxing, Detective John said to Fawmus ″I guess you must be Fawmus″.
″Yes, he is″ answered Adewale.
″Now everyone should tell me how come am alive right now″ said Detective John.
″We don’t know but for you to return from the dead means one thing. You are connected to Leo and Deo in some way we have no idea about″ said Fawmus to Detective John.
″And who are Leo and Deo?″ asked Detective John.
″That would be Adewale and Adetutu″ said uncle James to Detective John.
″Okay. What does it mean to be connected to Adewale and Adetutu?″ asked Detective John.
″It means you won’t be able to die of your own free will. You will only be able to die if they die because you are linked to them″ said Fawmus to Detective John.
“Is that true?” asked Detective John, as he looked at their faces which says they are serious.
″You are all joking right?″ said Detective John with a smile, because what they said sounded funny to him.
″No, we are not joking. If you are killed while I and Adetutu are alive, you will be brought back to life just like now. And Just like I had told you at the station, we are gods″ said Adewale to Detective John.
″Okay. Let’s say I believe you all. How come am connected to Adewale and Adetutu? What is my role?″ asked Detective John.
″We don’t know for now. But the dream revealed that you owned their powers which means that you are connected to them somehow″ said uncle James to Detective John.
″Are you really going to believe Fawrus’s stupid dream or even the dream itself?″ said Detective John in disbelief.
″We also don’t want to but Fawmus also had the same dream″ said Adewale to Detective John.
″Okay, let me recap all that you all have just said. Am connected to Adewale and Adetutu who are gods. I can’t die as long as they are alive but will die if they are dead. How are any of these possible and how are you so sure that am connected to them without the dream being used as an example?″ said Detective John, refusing to believe them.
″Aren’t you supposed to be dead? Your being alive right now confirms you are connected to them know that once again........ I know all this may be hard to believe because our world is different from yours. To you, everything we said seems to be lies and fiction but I also standing presently in front of you prove we are not lying and am sure you have seen Fawrus″ said Fawmus to Detective John.
″Yes. None of these are supposed to be real″ said Detective John confused.
″It’s real in our world, John, and you are part of that world now” said Adewale.
Detective John thought for a while about all they said and realized they were telling the truth then Detective John said “what it is you all want from me then?”
“Do you really not know anything about the dream or maybe you are something or someone which we don’t also know but you do″ Adewale asked Detective John.
″Am no one. And if you think am something or someone supernatural it means am John. And if you are all right then I also don’t know who I am″ said Detective John.
″Is there any other way of knowing about the dream?″ uncle James asked Fawmus.
″Kuntapha is dead we have no way of knowing about it. I have also tapped into his memories and all I see is him, a girl, and his whole human life″ said Fawmus.
″That will be my sister”, (John remembers his sister and became worried), “Oh yeah, I need to go home right now″ said Detective John.
″You don’t need to go home, I already take care of your sister using your image″ said Fawmus to Detective.
″What does that mean? What did you do to my sister?″ asked Detective John confused.
″I kind of became you and gave her a ticket to travel out of the country. I even took her to the airport myself to make sure she left the country″ said Fawmus to Detective John.
″And why would you do that?″ asked Detective John surprised.
″That’s the only way to protect her from Fawrus and she doesn’t know you died″ said Fawmu.
″Why would Fawrus want to hurt my sister?″ asked Detective John.
″Not just your sister. If he knows any of your family he will kill them to eradicate your bloodline since he saw you possessing the powers in the dream″ said Fawmus.
″If you want to survive it better you stick with us. Don’t try going back to the humans’ world and job because if you do he will find you and kill you all over and over again and if you keep waking back up he will find a way to make you die permanently″ said uncle James to Detective John.
″Since my sister is out of the country I have nothing to go back to and am stuck with you all. And I want you to tell me how him (Fawmus) and Fawrus are Adewale″ said Detective John.
″It is a long story we don’t wanna start with″ said Adewale.
″We will be needing your help to destroy Fawrus″ said Fawmus to Detective John.
″I heard Adewale clearly when he said Fawrus can’t be killed unless he is killed which means he is connected to Adewale. So how do we destroy such a person without Adewale dying because I want to have my revenge on him″ said Detective John.
″The poison in front of you will help us kill him″ said uncle James to Detective John.
″How are you going to poison Fawrus if he is powerful?″ asked Detective John.
″No Fawrus, but me″ said Adewale.
″You are kidding, right? Poisoning you will get us all killed now that am connected to you″ said Detective John, shocked by what Adewale said.
″Yes, we know that. But Adetutu will be alive long enough to bring him back so we all don’t die″ said Fawmus to Detective John.
″How is she going to bring him back?″ asked Detective John.
″By accessing her power to wake that of Adewale″ said uncle James.
″Wait, what about the other small miniature bottle, it’s supposed to be two″ Adewale asked Detective John, realizing it was only the poison that was on the table.
“What other bottle cause am only with one? Is there two poison?″ asked Detective John.
″Don’t worry about the other bottle, Adetutu already drank the herb. I made her drink it″ said Fawmus.
″Okay. What next is how to find Fawrus″ said uncle James.
″That shouldn’t be hard, Fawmus should be able to locate Fawrus″ said Adewale.
″No, I can’t. I can only feel his presence whenever he is close to us not far away″ said Fawmus.
″How do we find his location then?″ asked Detective John.
″Let’s try Adewale then. Adewale can feel Adetutu wherever she is and we can use that to find Adetutu’s location because wherever she is Fawrus will be″ said uncle James.
″What does the feel mean?″ asked Detective John.
″John, please, enough of your question for now, we don’t really have time for that right now. Just listen to whatever we say and I don’t think Adewale can feel her anymore″ said Fawmus.
″What do you mean?″ asked uncle James, as he looked at Adewale who was now looking down.
″I can’t feel her or her presence anymore. I don’t know why but it started when I woke up. It’s like she is offline or something″ said Adewale.
Uncle James became worried upon hearing what Adewale said. ″Hope she is not dead″ said uncle James worried.
″Then how are you still alive? She is not dead″ said Fawmus, and brought out Adetutu’s necklace from his pocket and placed it on the table.
Uncle James and Adewale were surprised to see the necklace. ″Isn’t that Adetutu necklace that she never takes off and always wears under her top?″ said uncle James.
″it is, uncle. How come it is in your hand?″ Adewale asked Fawmus.
″I saw it on the floor at the police station. I guess Fawrus took it off her neck before taking her″ said Fawmus.
″Why would he do that?″ asked Adewale.
″I told you once that there was something that allowed Leo and Deo to be able to read each other minds and that I would recognize it if I ever see it and here it is, the necklace″ said Fawmus.
Adewale and Uncle James were surprised to hear that. ″So you mean the necklace is the reason they could feel each other and makes Adetutu able to read Adewale’s mind″ uncle James asked Fawmus to confirm what he said.
″Yes. Fawrus must have taken it off Deo’s neck knowing what the necklace is capable of, so Leo won’t be able to locate Adetutu if he can’t feel her″ said Fawmus.
″I think you are right. It was around the time she gave me the other necklace that we began to feel each″ said Adewale, and brought out his necklace that was under his top.
″She said never to take it off and I also couldn’t even if I wanted to. I always keep it under any top I wear to keep it safe, same with her″ said Adewale.
″The necklace is said to be a gift from God to both Leo and Deo which represented their love and bond″ said Fawmus.
″Where did you buy the necklace?″ uncle James asked Adewale.
″I never bought it. I couldn’t present any gift to Adetutu because I didn’t know what kind of gift to buy for her on her birthday. And when I was told to present a gift to her and I couldn’t I left the party ashamed and went to sit down at the edge of the ocean. I was seated staring at the edge of the ocean when the ocean washed a box to my feet. I picked and opened the box to see the necklace so I presented the two necklaces to her as a birthday gift but she gave me one on the day I was to travel″ said Adewale.
″Can I have the other necklace″ said Fawmus to Adewale.
Adewale took the lock necklace off and gave it to Fawmus then fawmus fixed the necklace together (into one) and dropped it on the table then it started to glow. Everyone was surprised to see the necklace glow except fawmus who said ″this is our flight ticket to Deo″.
