Chapter DETECTIVE JOHN
NIGHT
Uncle James, Adewale, and Adetutu regain consciousness and opened their eyes to see they were in a hospital next to each other, their clothes changed to that of patients, and lying down on the hospital bed. Uncle James and Adetutu were shocked and confused about how they got to the hospital and how come they are alive when they are supposed to be dead, while Adewale was only shocked to be in the hospital. The three of them sit up looking at their body for wounds or injuries but were surprised that they couldn’t find any. Uncle James said ″I don’t seem to understand what is going on. How are we still alive?“.
″What happened to my wounds? And what are you talking about? Are we supposed to be dead?″ Adewale asked uncle James.
″Yes, dead, with our body torn in pieces″ said Adetutu to Adewale.
″What are you guys talking about?″ Adewale (confused) asked uncle James and Adetutu.
″We were bombed by a missile when you were unconscious″ said uncle James to Adewale.
Adewale finds what he heard untrue and said ″Bombed?″, as he looked at Adetutu and uncle James.
″Yes. We were bombed and we are supposed to be dead torn to pieces″ said Adetutu to Adewale.
Adewale don’t believe Uncle James and Adetutu then he smiled and said to them ″are you both sure of what you are talking about? Because if we were truly bombed we should be dead. So, how are we still alive?″.
″We don’t know also″ said uncle James, as he and Adetutu looked at their bodies once again confused and surprised.
Adewale saw as they both looked at their bodies then he also looked at his body again surprised and confused to see no wounds or mark of it. Adewale asked uncle James and Adetutu “you guys might be wrong about the bomb but how come I can’t find any wound on my body not even a mark of it?“.
″No idea. Maybe the doctor inject you guys with something but we are telling the truth about the bomb″ said Adetutu to Adewale.
″What about the explosion? Did the doctor also inject him or us to bring us back and fixed our pieces into one″ uncle James asked Adetutu.
Adetutu could give no response to uncle James cause she has no idea what to say then Adewale asked uncle James and Adetutu “were we really bombed?“.
“Yes, we were. Do you think we will be playing with such a matter” said Adetutu to Adewale.
Adewale couldn’t believe his ears that they were bombed but they are still alive. Adewale also couldn’t think of how they can be alive when they were bombed. Adewale said to Adetutu and uncle James ″they have got to be an explanation for us to be alive and we have to get out of here″, and to try to stand up but he suddenly felt something around his left wrist and look to see his left hand has already been cuff to the bed something.
Seeing his left hand handcuffed to the bed, Adewale said ″oh no. We have been caught by the police″.
Hearing that made Uncle James asked Adewale “What do you mean by that?“, while Adetutu saw the cuff on Adewale’s hand and look at her right hand to see it has been cuffed to be bed also.
“Look at your hand, uncle” said Adewale to uncle James.
Uncle James looked at his hands and saw his right hand also cuffed to the bed. Uncle James became worried and said ″we are in serious trouble″, while Adewale laid down back on the bed.
Adetutu asked ″What do we tell the police?″.
″It going to be hard to explain what going on to the police. We will just pretend like we have no idea about what going on while they figure it out on their own″ said Adewale to Adetutu and uncle James.
Three policemen walked into the ward where Adewale and the two others were. Two of the men wore police uniforms, one carrying an envelope and the other holding a tablet phone, while the third one leading wore casual wear and was around Adewale’s age.
Adewale, uncle James, and Adetutu sit up as they saw the three policemen come in. The three policemen stood in front of Adewale, Adetutu, and uncle James then the one putting on the casual wear smiled at Adewale, Adetutu, and uncle James and they wondered why or is he trying to be nice. The policeman putting on casual wear said to Adewale and the two others ″my name is Detective John”, he showed Adewale and the two others his ID card, “and I will be asking some questions which I will like you all to cooperate with me and answer me truthfully″.
″Okay, but first. Why did you cuff us to the bed like we are some criminals?″ uncle James asked Detective John.
″And what makes you think you are not″ said Detective John to uncle James.
Adetutu was annoyed upon hearing the Detective say that and said to Detective John ″Because we are not. Are you accusing us of something?″.
″Maybe or maybe not. It depends on the answer I get from the three of you″ said Detective John to the three of them.
″Gosh, you are unbelievable″ said Adetutu (annoyed) to Detective John.
″First, I will like you all to explain to me what happened this afternoon″ said Detective John to three of them.
″What happened?″ said uncle James to Detective John, and looked at the others then they looked at him back like they have no idea about what Detective John is talking about.
″We don’t know what you are talking about you gonna have to be more specified on your question″ said uncle James to Detective John.
″First, I want to know about the guys fighting on the trailer truck and the one driving the trailer truck″ said Detective John to three of them.
″Those guys? Am sure you will have them on cameras so you should know who they are″ said uncle James to the Detective.
″Yeah, you are right. We even have pictures″ said Detective John to uncle James, then collected the envelope from the police standing at his back holding it, and threw it to uncle James.
Uncle James opened the envelope and saw some pictures in it then Uncle James brought the pictures out and looked at it. Uncle James saw pictures of them in the car and pictures of the trailer truck with no driver in it and no one on top of it which surprised and confused him then he gave the pictures to Adewale.
Adewale looked and the pictures and was surprised and confused not seeing Fawrus, Fawmus, or the split ones in the pictures. Adetutu was also surprised and confused upon looking at the pictures.
Detective John collected the tablet from the 2nd policeman. Detective John played a video on the tablet and showed it to them holding the tablet as he said to them “you might want to explain how your car was driving itself first″.
Adewale, Adetutu, and uncle James watched the video and saw in the video that their car was driving itself at first as Adetutu was sited in the front seat and uncle James and Adewale in the back seat of the car. Adewale, Adetutu, and uncle James were shocked and confused at the same time upon watching the video cause it was Fawmus that was driving the car first and now he can’t be found in the video or pictures.
Detective John stopped the video and gave the tablet back to the policeman then he said to the three of them “And we got information that someone was driving the trailer truck and two people were fighting on the trailer truck. But upon checking the CCTV footage on the road we saw no one, which is confusing. So you might want to share light on that too″.
″Okay. We are confused and shocked watching the video and looking at the pictures just as you are also. Because pictures of Fawrus, Fawmus, and his split ones should be here in the picture and they should also be in the video″ said uncle James to Detective.
″And who are those people?″ Detective John asked the three of them.
″Fawmus was the one driving our car first but he later left it to fight against Fawrus on top of the trailer truck and Fawrus split one was the one driving the trailer truck when Fawrus left it to fight against Fawmus″ said uncle James to Detective John.
″And can you all explain to us why they are not on cameras?″ Detective John asked the three of them.
″We don’t know about that. They must have used their powers to not be seen by the cameras″ said uncle James to Detective John.
″And what kind of power are we talking about?″ Detective John asked the three of them.
″Unimaginable powers″ said uncle James to Detective John.
″Forget about their powers. Now that we know you know them and can identify them. Can you describe them or tell us their address″ said Detective John to the three of them.
″This is going to sound crazy and ridiculous. We don’t think they have an address and they are all him″ said uncle James to Detective John, as he pointed at Adewale.
″Him? How are they him or are you trying to be funny right now″ said Detective John to uncle James.
″I wish I was. It’s a hard truth which you have to accept″ said uncle James to Detective John.
″Are you trying to joke with me right now? You should know am not in a good mood″ said Detective John, (now angry) to the three of them.
″I am not joking″ said uncle James to Detective John.
″You better start talking now or I will make sure you guys......″ said Detective John in anger.
Detective John was cut short of words as uncle James cut in ″don’t you ever address me with the word guy again. You can call them that but not me. Take a look at me, if am not old enough to be your father I should be your uncle. You get that and I don’t care if you are in a bad mood or not″ said uncle James with a sober face to Detective John.
″You don’t want to piss me off right now. I lost good men out there today and It’s because of you three. It will be better if you all start talking now or it will be hard for you when you get to the station″ said Detective John (in anger) to the three of them.
″We have told you all we know. It is up to you whether you believe us or not″ said uncle James to the Detective.
″Will you both talk or does he do the talking for you every time″ said Detective John to Adewale and Adetutu.
″Uncle is right. Fawmus, Fawrus, and the split ones are all me and they are after her. And we don’t know the reason why before you ask why they are after her″ said Adewale to Detective John.
″How can they be you? According to your profile, you are not a twin so stop joking now″ said Detective John to Adewale.
″Yeah I know that am not a twin, but they are still me″ said Adewale to the Detective.
Detective John couldn’t believe all that he is hearing from the three of them then he said to them ″I thought the doctor said you all are perfectly fine but it seems your brains need checking″.
″You can’t understand, Detective, because what is going on is way beyond you or any human and it’s not natural″ said Adetutu to the Detective.
″Oh for fuck sake explain to me and stop saying I can’t understand and are you not also human″ said Detective John to the three of them, but the three of them said nothing and just stared at the Detective.
″Okay, if you don’t want to explain. The doctor said you were all supposed to be dead even though the missile didn’t tear you into pieces. The amount of chemicals you were all exposed to was supposed to kill the three of you but you didn’t die. And that again your wounds healed themselves before the doctor even touch you. Can you please explain that also″ said Detective John to the three of them.
The three of them were astounded to hear that their wounds healed themselves. Adewale said to the Detective ″we are also shocked to hear that and we have been here wondering how come we are alive also and where od our wounds went to. So we have no idea about that also″.
″I don’t believe you are telling the truth. I think you are all hiding something which I will get out of you three when you get to the station through the pain process. Which means I will torture the three of you till you open up″ said Detective John (In anger) to the three of them.
″No way. You can’t keep us in your custody we did nothing wrong″ said Adetutu to the Detective.
″You are wrong. You broke the law. You killed the shaman name Sam Aman″ said Detective John to the three of them.
The three of them were shocked to hear that. Uncle James said to the Detective ″No, we didn’t″.
″Then who did?″ Detective John asked the three of them.
″Fawrus did″ said uncle James to the Detective.
″You mean the Fawrus that is him. You must all be going crazy″ said Detective John with anger to the three of them, then showed them a video of them coming in and out of the shaman’s office.
Detective John said to the three of them ″how will you deny this? It’s only the three of you that came out of his office after he was killed and the fingerprints found on his neck and clothes match that of you two (Adewale and uncle James) and I don’t see any Fawrus in the video″.
“The shaman was already dead when we got to his office. My fingerprint on his neck and clothing only means it was Fawrus that killed him. Since Fawrus is me he will have my fingerprint. And the fingerprint of uncle is when uncle checked if the shaman was still alive or dead” said Adewale to the Detective.
“I don’t trust or believe any of you. You seem to know how to cook lies. I will make sure you all rot in jail” said Detective John to the three of them.
″You have got to believe us. We don’t know how they are not showing in the CCTV footage but Fawrus was the one that killed him not us″ said Adetutu to the Detective.
″Enough of your bullshits. All evidence pointed at you three that you were the ones that killed him so enough of your lies. We will meet in the station and my advice to you all is that you bring along your healing system because you will be needing that″ said Detective John to the three of them, and left the room in anger while a policeman took the photos from the three of them and left also and the other policeman was told to stay behind and watch them.
Adetutu (scared) asked uncle James and Adewale″what do we do now?″.
″There is nothing we can do″ said uncle James.
″But we didn’t kill the shaman″ said Adetutu (scared).
″Yes, we did not, only we know that. The CCTV footage only shows us not Fawrus and all the evidence involving the shaman’s death is against us″ said Adewale to Adetutu.
″How are they even able to do that, them not appearing in the videos and pictures″ asked uncle James baffled.
″Who knows and we are all going to jail″ said Adetutu (worried).
″We must not go to jail. My family won’t be happy about that and who is going to take care of them″ said uncle James worried also.
″We are not going to jail’ said Adewale to uncle James and Adetutu.
″You can’t be sure about that, this is a murderer case″ said uncle James to Adewale.
″I know, but we are not going to jail″ insisted Adewale.
″Are you so sure about that or do you have an escape plan?″ uncle James asked Adewale.
″I understand him, uncle. Adewale doesn’t have any plan but we have two supernatural beings. One that wants me and will stop at nothing to get me, and the other that want to protect us″ said Adetutu with a smile to uncle James.
″How are you both sure they won’t be dead right now″ said uncle James to Adewale and Adetutu.
″If the missile didn’t kill us what makes you think it will kill them, and we did see Fawrus grow a hand back. All we need to do is wait for one of them but our hope should be Fawmus, not Fawrus″ said Adewale.
