Chapter 27
Chapter 27 A VIP Card
When Christopher's words fell, the female lobby attendant, Cedric, Eleanor, and Julianna, froze and averted their gazes toward the former in astonishment.
Well, it was no doubt why they would react that way. A VIP card had minimum spending of five million. Not fifty!
Not anyone who wanted to get one could do so as they wished.
The first to regain her composure was Eleanor. Exasperated, she pointed straight at Christopher and laughed. "You have a VIP card? Who do you think you are? You're nothing but a d*mn retired soldier! You need at least five million for a VIP card, not fifty. Even my husband doesn't have one. Why are you pretending to be all that great?"
To Eleanor, Christopher was only but a useless retired soldier. How is it possible he has the money to sign up for a five million VIP card?
Taken aback, Julianna hurriedly nudged Christopher before flashing a smile toward the lobby attendant. "My husband is just kidding."
"The least you could do is to watch where you're at before making a joke. Right now, you're not only embarrassing yourself. You're embarrassing all of us too!" Eleanor grumbled as she found the situation rather embarrassing.
Julianna tugged on Christopher again. However, the latter did not seem to be bothered by those words. "It's fine."
Well, it was no surprise he did not seem perturbed. It was true he had a VIP black card which Diane had specially given him. Moreover, he was the boss of Globetrotter Winery! Noticing Christopher's unflinching gaze, Julianna was slightly hesitant for a brief moment. She was uncertain of whether she should stop him.
Christopher is comrades with the Custodian of Jadeborough. It's perfectly normal for Globetrotter Winery to gift him a card in an attempt to butter up to the Custodian of Jadeborough.
"Julianna, I guess your husband really loves to act rich, huh? He wants to show off when he doesn't even have that capability. You should really do something about it." Before Eleanor could continue, Cedric stopped her. He then broke into a smile and said, "Since Christopher says he has the card, let him take it out, then. The lobby attendant will verify it for us."
Finishing that, he shot Eleanor a look. At once, she understood his meaning.
In truth, Cedric had no intention of helping Christopher. All he was hoping for was a satisfying scenario of the latter getting rejected by the lobby attendant of Globetrotter Winery after flashing the wrong card and thereby taking the opportunity to humiliate him.
In other words, Cedric did not believe that Christopher had a VIP card. What a joke! It's at least five million. How can a mere retired soldier like him own one? If he really has one, I will run around naked! Apart from Cedric, the female lobby attendant was also in disbelief. That's at least five million! If someone among the four of them is capable of signing up for our VIP card, that person will probably be wearing Armani from head to toe!
Contrary to her assumption, Christopher was dressed in a camouflage outfit. He obviously is only a poor loser!
Nevertheless, she knew well how an incident previously had led to the dismissal of several lobby attendants and security guards, and even Quintin had landed in the police station. Though she had no idea what exactly happened, she later received special instructions from the higher management about having to treat all customers like a king, and whoever disobeyed would be fired immediately. "Sir, please present your card," that female lobby attendant said politely.
Christopher nodded. This attendant has a much better attitude than the previous one. Without hesitation, he pulled out a black card and passed it to her.
Just as the card in his grip became visible to all, Cedric broke into maniacal laughter. "Christopher, I think you must be mad! Their VIP card is red and gold. Yet, you're holding a black card and pretending it's theirs? Don't tell me you're using a salon membership card as a VIP card?"
"Exactly, Julianna. Your husband is so interesting, huh? How can he pretend that that's a VIP card? Does he think the Globetrotter Winery's staff are color blind like him?" Eleanor also looked at Christopher with contempt as she remarked sarcastically.
