Chapter 22
Chapter 22
The next day, early in the morning. Magnus arrived at Hovalt Group, looking a bit dazed.
He changed into the specially made attire from the security department, which made him look energetic and refreshed.
In these days, the wealthy could do whatever they wanted. The same went for those who were good–looking!
Moreover, although Magnus was just a security leader, he could still be considered a leader in his own right!
“Look, that impressive person who hit Mr. Zinn is now the chief of our security department!” whispered a female employee.
“He’s really handsome, I wonder if he has a girlfriend!” said another.
So, quite a few female employees had become infatuated with him when they saw him..
One daring female employee approached Magnus and said, “Hello, Mr. Kramer. I’m Lily Morris from the PR department. Can I invite you to grab something at noon?”
“Sorry, I don’t have time at noon,” said Magnus.
Magnus was polite as he declined the invitation.
If the other person was a super beauty, he would have considered it.
But Lily had a pockmarked face, and he was afraid it would ruin his appetite.
“Are you available in the evening, Mr. Kramer?” asked Lily, still not giving up.
“I don’t have any time this year!” Magnus exclaimed, stopping his patrol and quickly heading toward the security department.
“I won’t give up!” Lily’s voice came from behind, causing Magnus to shudder involuntarily.
At that moment, Dustin came in carrying a breakfast bag. Seeing this scene, he immediately gave a thumbs up and praised Magnus. “Mr. Kramer, you are
the best!”
Magnus put a cigarette in his mouth, sat in front of the computer, and started playing a game.
Around ten o’clock, Xylia called and said she had arranged a meeting with her best friend. She then sent the address via text message.
Magnus initially didn’t want to pay attention. However, Xylia said that if he dared to stand up her best friend, he would face consequences.
So, after having lunch, Magnus took advantage of the break time and hurried to his appointment.
When he arrived at the address sent over by Xylia, he found out that it was a commercial complex.
Magnus pressed the doorbell.
Click! The electropic door automatically opened.
Magnus entered the house and saw an extremely beautiful woman.
She was in her early twenties and had a heart–shaped face with large watery eyes beneath a tall nose. Her skin was pale and smooth. She also had a light and graceful figure. The most eye–catching feature was her waist–length ponytail!
‘If Kristin is a proud and aloof plum blossom, then Xylia is a dazzling and charming azalea..
And the woman before me is like a brightly blooming peony.
She’s beautiful but not bewitching!”

“I am Sherise Bridges, and are you Mr. Kramer?” asked the woman sitting at the desk softly.
Magnus nodded and sat down on the armchair across from her.
Sherise nodded with a smile and said, “Xylia had already told me about your situation. From taten understand, your condition should be PTSD from
war!”
At this point, she gazed at Magnus and asked with a slight surprise, “Have you been on the battlefield, Mr. Kramer?”
Magnus stared at her and nodded, saying, “Ms. Bridges, I know my own illness well. To be honest, I came here only as a mere formality. As for treatment,
there’s no need to waste time. Hehe!”
Upon hearing this, Sherise softly said, “Mr. Kramer, I understand how you feel,”
As a professional psychologist, she knew that patients were often very sensitive about their own conditions.
She thought, “It’s like with a psychiatric patient; the more you say they have a mental illness, the more it will provoke them.”
So Sherise wasn’t in a hurry, and instead, she changed the topic, asking, “I wonder if it’s convenient for you to talk about your past experiences, Mr.
Kramer?”
“It’s not convenient,” Magnus said bluntly, refusing.
Sherise was momentarily taken aback, but she quickly regained her composure.
She still appeared very patient as she stood up and walked over to a white couch nearby, gesturing for Magnus to sit with a polite gesture.
“Mr. Kramer, can you come over here and have a chat with me?” asked Sherise.
Magnus chuckled inwardly.
He naturally knew that the other party wanted to break through his psychological defenses in order to carry out the so–called treatment.
It’s just that if such treatments were effective, his illness would have been cured a long time ago.
Magnus still sat down in front of Sherise.
The two were so close that Magnus could even smell the scent emanating from the other person’s body.
Sherise took out a pocket watch and said, “Mr. Kramer, please keep your eyes on this pocket watch.”
“Alright!” Magnus followed her instructions.
Sherise’s lips curled into a smile, and the pocket watch in her hand began to sway.
Many patients did not want to reveal their past, so she would use hypnosis to make them voluntarily speak up in an illusion.
This method was always successful.
Under normal circumstances, Sherise could put someone into a hypnotic state within 30 seconds. Even for those with stronger willpower, it would take at most a minute.
However, this time, it seemed a bit unexpected. Five minutes had passed, and Magnus was still wide–eyed.
Upon seeing this, Sherise furrowed her brow slightly and said, “Mr. Kramer, please relax and focus on the pocket watch.”
“Alright!” Magnus replied honestly on the surface, but inside he was sneering.
Another five minutes had passed. Cold sweat appeared on Sherise’s forehead.
Magnus still had his eyes wide open, which made her wonder if there was a problem somewhere.

In the end, Sherise put away the pocket watch.
Magnus grinned and asked, “Ms. Bridges, why did you stop? Your pocket watch is quite nice, l’ike to admire it some more.”
Actually, that wasn’t the case. During the hypnosis process, Sherise was only around an inch away from him, and he was taking the opportunity to admire her impressive peaks!
It seemed that Sherise had seen through Magnus‘ scheme as a touch of red appeared on her delicate face.
She hurriedly sat back down on the couch and let out a cough to clear her throat before adding “Mr. Kramer, please be more serious.”
“How am I not serious?” Magnus asked with an innocent expression on his face.
Sherise’s eyes narrowed, and she said softly, “If you want me to cure your illness, please cooperate a little.”
“Alright, go ahead, how do you want me to cooperate?” asked Magnus as he suddenly became interested.
“Can you tell me about your past?” Sherise asked, her tone becoming gentle as she saw his willingness to cooperate.
Magnus took out a cigarette and asked, “Do you mind if I smoke?”
Sherise shook her head, indicating she didn’t mind, and even brought him an ashtray.
He lit the cigarette.
After taking a few strong puffs of his cigarette, Magnus slowly started to speak.
“I had a girlfriend, and our love for each other was strong. We both believed that we were each other’s lifelong partners, but her parents disapproved of me for being poor and having no prospects, and they adamantly refused to let us be together. Later, my girlfriend decided to elope with me. We fled to a foreign country, but her parents still refused to let us go. My girlfriend was taken back by her parents!”
After a pause, he continued, “So I came to her house and knelt for three whole days and nights, begging her parents to agree to us being together. It’s just a pity that her parents never agreed!”
Magnus finished speaking and saw that Sherise’s eyes across from him were turning red, clearly moved by his words. He tried hard to hold back his laughter.
