My Eternal Mate

Chapter Chapter Twenty Four

LYRA

"Amelie is throwing a fit over the pup," Dyami explained after he had rushed in to the house.

He was accompanied by Adam and surprisingly, Aspen. Aspen's jaw appeared bruised, that was slowly healing. His eyes were on Alexander, who was stood with his back to the kitchen counter, with arms crossed.

The men were in the kitchen, I was sat on the sofa, eyeing them curiously. After Alexander had told me Jessica's parents wanted revenge, the three men had appeared at our house immediately after. Given, it was barely ten in the morning, but again, werewolves didn't have or care for timing.

Alexander growled lowly, making me snap my head in his direction. "Amelie needs to mind her own business unless she wishes to pay her daughter a permanent visit," he snarled, his eyes darkened.

"I will take care of them," Aspen suggested, standing straight, hardly a couple of feet from my mate. "I have known her for many years, she is hardly angry because her daughter is dead. She is using that as a bait to get to Kai."

"What are you saying?" Alexander questioned, arching a brow.

Aspen sighed, running his hand over his face frustratingly. "Jess wasn't the typical she-wolf. She was rebellious, and did everything her parents told her not to. The relationship between them was more acquainted."

"Eh," Adam chimed in, looking and sounding very confused. "She was acquainted with her own parents? Just how twisted was this chick?"

I couldn't lie, the same thoughts ran through my head and I chewed on my bottom lip. I wasn't too sure why our lives suddenly seemed to revolve around a dead she-wolf that didn't even belong to the pack. But if that was going to have an impact on the safety of our pack, then it was to be taken seriously.

"She left home when she was hardly sixteen, and never returned or looked back," Aspen elaborated, shrugging. "Her parents kept bugging her and sometimes I wonder if she purposely threw herself at me to get her pregnant knowing her parents would leave her alone if she settled with her own family."

His words made me frown and honestly, almost feel sorry for Jessica. But she was already dead, there was no point having these feelings.

"Yikes," Dyami added, giving Aspen a weird look before he turned to Alexander. "What do you want to do?"

Alexander narrowed his eyes, as if he was occupied thinking about something before his features softened and he turned his head to meet my gaze.

Offering a small smile, he arched a brow before his voice filled my head as he mind-linked me.

'My Luna, what do you think?'

Surprised, my eyes widened slightly, before my brows twitched. 'You want my involvement?'

'Of course. This pack is yours just as it is mine. Enlighten me, what shall we do?'

A smirk almost covered my face at his words, but I tried to not let the excitement show as my eyes travelled over the other three men, whom were patiently waiting for my mate's words.

Adam was tapping his finger on his arm, waiting, but clearly running low on patience. Dyami, with narrowed eyes, was glancing between Alexander and I, probably suspecting the communication my mate and I just had. Aspen, on the other hand, glanced at me with a teasing smirk on his face, making me frown.

Turning my gaze back on Alexander, I lifted myself off of the sofa and trudged towards him. Once I was by his side, he immediately snaked his arm around my waist and pulled me closer to him.

Leaning his head down, enough for his lip to brush past my ear, he whispered, "What's the verdict?"

"We don't want a war," I said aloud, ignoring the goosebumps that rose at my mate's slight touch on me. "Is there a possibility that we settle this in a civil way?"

Alexander lifted his head and glanced at Aspen, questioningly. The latter man shrugged, before he replied, "I mean, I can try. The reason that I appeared here in the first place was to warn you about their plans for revenge. But like I said, they are more after Kai than their daughter."

"What does that even mean?" I asked, confused.

Aspen inhaled sharply, his blue eyes slightly darkening. "If they cared for their daughter as they are pretending, they would have sought her revenge months ago," he explained. "But no, I won't let them see the pup and now they are suddenly interested in revenge. Does that make any sense?"

"Dyami," Alexander interjected, his voice stern. "We do not want a war. Gather men, we will pay Sirius Pack a visit and have it settled there. I will contact Jonathan to let him know of our arrival."

'What?' I mind-linked him in shock, turning my torso to face him with a frown on my face.

Alexander didn't respond, he simply tightened his hold on my waist, glanced at me briefly before his eyes turned to the men ahead of us.

"Right away," Dyami spoke, before he dipped and vanished from the house.

"Adam, you will warn the guards and make sure the pack is protected in my absence," Alexander instructed, making the man in question bow his head respectfully, before he also disappeared. "And you," he turned to Aspen. "Since I do not trust you, you can stay here."

"It's a nice house, I can't complain," Aspen replied, shrugging. "Plus, you have a pretty Luna."

Alexander growled, tightening his hold on me and almost moved me to stand behind him slightly. "Keep your eyes off my Luna," he warned. "Brother or not, your focus should be elsewhere."

Aspen snorted, before he raised his hands in an act of defence. "Sure," he agreed, before he said, "Well, I'll be hanging on the sofa, if you need me that's where you'll find me."

He walked towards the sofa and plopped himself down, before he grabbed the TV remote control and soon, a random show appeared on the black screen.

I didn't have time to ponder on what I thought of him or how the whole situation affected me, when Alexander tugged at my hand and lead us towards the stairs.

He didn't stop until we had reached our room. Once we were both inside, he closed the door and wrapped his arms around me tightly. His head was nestled in my neck, inhaling as his hold on me tightened.

"Hey," I whispered, confused at the sudden affection. "Are you okay?"

I vaguely felt him nod, but his hold on me didn't loosen. "Give me two minutes," he urged, his voice husky. "Or I might end up killing that wolf on our sofa."

I frowned, before I pulled my head back to glance at Alexander. "What's wrong?"

"He keeps making these comments about you," Alexander growled, animalistic, his eyes a shade darker. "If it was not for the safety of our pack right now, I would deal with him myself."

"It's okay," I assured him, placing my hand on his cheek. "It doesn't matter what he says. Focus on us, okay?"

Alexander exhaled a shaky breath, relaxing under my touch, before he agreed, "Yeah, of course. You are my everything, Lyra. My whole world is you."

His words tied a knot in my stomach, and I almost wanted to cry. At times like this, I remembered how incredibly lucky I was to have him, to have a mate, but specifically Alexander. He was so good to me.

"I love you," I murmured, standing on my tiptoes to press my lips against his. "Thank you for including me in your decision earlier."

Alexander grinned against my lips, pecking me a couple of more times, before he replied, "Your input matters."

When the kiss intensified, and his tongue forcefully slipped inside of my mouth, I moaned, unintentionally. I didn't want to stop him, knowing he probably needed this to release of all the frustration he felt.

But when his lips peppered kisses over my jaw and settled on the mark on my neck, and when his hand groped at my breast, I realised he wanted more.

"Alexander," I said, panting, as low moans escaped my mouth at how good his tongue felt on my skin. "We are leaving, we can't."

Alexander didn't stop, he continued to lick and graze my skin with his teeth. His lips travelled down to my breast, where he removed the material, to hungrily feed on to my nipple. He was licking and teasing my nipple, grunting in the process.

I should have pushed him away, but I didn't because I had absolutely no control whatsoever when he was working on me the way he was. Pleasure erupted through me the more he worked on me, thus, the harder I found it to stop him.

And I most definitely could not refuse him, when his member sprung to life. He turned me around and pushed me up against our bedroom door, not wasting a second before he filled me, roughly. It was rough and quick, much needed for both of us, before we both reached climax.

We had just showered, and were getting dressed in the closet when I asked him, "How far is Sirius?"

Alexander was in the process of slipping a pair of boxers on, before he replied, "About ten hours away."

"Oh," I said, realising we would need to stay over night. "I will pack our bags in that case."

"No, baby," Alexander commented, making me arch my brow in confusion. Sauntering towards me in a pair of black boxers, his body attempting me to have him take me again, he came to wrap me in his arms. "Only I need a bag."

"What do you mean?" I questioned, pulling back to glance up at him.

His blue eyes searched mine, a slight frown on his face before he lowered his head and pecked a lingering kiss on my forehead. Pulling back, he whispered, "You will not go with me, Lyra. I will go with a couple of the men, and you will stay here."
