Chapter 12
Alpha POV
I leave Tory to try to piece herself together. She is broken. I can see it in her eyes. I want to know more about her and why she chose Alan and the agency to help her. What could be so wrong that she would like to give her life to this man? There is more to her story. When Meagan comes to terminate the contract, I want answers about Tory so I can help her feel better about herself and her life.
I made my goal in life when I took over this pack to make sure all of my wolves were happy and healthy. I want all of them to be their best selves. I feel like she needs the pack's help, and I will make sure she gets what she needs.
I will not be like my father or his father. I want my pack to know they can come to me. There is no reason to be a tyrant and run this pack in such a way that they are terrified of me. I was in their shoes once. I was not always Alpha, and I hope the wolf that takes my place will continue this practice.
I get in my truck to go meet up with Bo. He has Alan in a holding cell waiting for me. I want to talk to the little bastard and decide what to do with him. I know what I want to do. I want to ban him from the pack entirely and take everything he has for what he has done to Tory and the other women he has ruined. Why was Meagan continuing to let him come to the agency? It was set up to help connect people and be a matchmaker system, not for some weirdo to get his rocks off by torturing women.
I pull into the building. Bo is standing outside smoking a cigarette and talking to a woman. He puts his cigarette out quickly when he sees me. He knows how I feel about smoke. I walk up to him. The young woman looks at me and smiles. "Alpha, I was just leaving. It is a pleasure to see you," she says.
"Why is Tonya down here with you?" I ask Bo.
"Oh, you know that flame is still burning, but it will never be the right time with her," Bo says.
"How is our prisoner? Did he give you any trouble?" I ask.
"No, your boys did a number on him. He was easy to bring into custody," Bo says.
"Well, I am sure Jeff and Trey are happy to know that made your job easy," I say to him.
Bo laughs. Bo is a rugged old-timey wolf. He has been a pack enforcer since I was a pup. He worked with my grandfather, my father, and now with me. His son does a lot of work for the pack too. Bo works on special assignments like this one. "What are we going to do with Mr. Alan, Alpha," Bo asks me.
"What do you suggest?" I ask Bo. Bo laughs.
"The pack doesn't do things like we use to do, so anything I suggest would be inhumane," Bo says.
"I might make an exception this time," I say.
"Yeah, Jeff told me what he did to that girl. Damn shame too. She is going to be alright, though, right?" Bo asks.
"I think so. She is bruised up, and he hit her in the head hard. She might need a few days to get her balance back," I say.
"Well, this should have never happened," Bo says.
"I agree, but you know who his father is and why he got away with this for so long, but it stops now," I say.
"Good. You want me to kill him?" Bo asks.
"Hell, no, Bo! Damn, I cannot authorize that, but he is banned from the pack, and everything he owns is ours now," I say to Bo.
"How long do you want me to hold him?" Bo asks.
"I want you to hold him here for a few days. I need long enough to clear out his house, and then we will drop his ass somewhere far away from here," I say to Bo.
"What are you going to do with his house?" Bo asks.
"You want it, Bo?" I ask him.
"Hell, I am about ready to retire, Alpha," Bo says.
"Then consider the house a gift for your service to the pack; I am sure no one will mind. No one else likes the water except you," I say to Bo.
This makes Bo happy. I don't have the heart to tell him that Alan doesn't own the house. Hell, the house is mine, but Bo deserves it. He has served this pack for generations. He should have a happy retirement. "Maybe you could take Tonya up there?" I say to him.
"No, I don't think so. I have been seeing a lady close to Alan's. She is a real sweetheart. She just might be the one," Bo says.
"Bo, you have been married more times than any wolf I know; you need to settle down," I say to him.
"You are one to talk, Alpha. You have never been married, and I do not see it happening any time soon," Bo says.
"Nope, I haven't met the right woman to call my Luna yet. I do not think it will ever happen," I say.
Bo slaps me on the arm. "I could fix you up with Tonya, Alpha," Bo says.
"I do not think so," I say.
We go into the building to deal with Alan. Bo is ecstatic to tell Alan he is being ousted from the pack. Alan will be a rogue, a nobody, a wolf without a pack. There is nothing worse that can happen to a wolf as punishment. I want to see the look in his eyes when I let Bo tell him.
