Chapter CHAPTER 19
Two weeks later, Blair stared at the stylish apartment with wooden decorations on the outside. She was positive that the rectangular windows in an asymmetric way would let in plenty of light during the day. Unlike her old place, the house was equipped with a modern kitchen, cozy dining, and two modern bathrooms. The living room was large as if it was designed to entertain a lot of guests. The apartment itself spoke of money especially the furnishings inside her bedroom.
Did she regret her decision?
She had no idea just yet. It's her second day at Jacob's apartment as his mistress. Yes, she agreed to be his mistress. Although there was money involved in her agreement with Mrs. Gordon, the main reason why she agreed was because of her feelings for Jacob. Once and for all, she wanted to experience to live with a man she has feelings with.
She promised Tracy that she would only give it a try for a few weeks then she would go back home or she's only trying to fool herself. When she learned that Jacob handpicked Alexandra as his secretary why Veraminta and Elizabeth were transferred to another department, she immediately filled up the form.
"How do you like it?"
Blair was startled when his mother suddenly showed up. To be honest, she's still uncomfortable around the woman in her original appearance. "Mrs. Gordon," she acknowledged the woman's presence. "Did he treat you right, Blair?"
She was touched when Mrs. Gordon asked her if Jacob maltreated her or not. "Don't worry Mrs. Gordon. Have you forgotten that I worked with him for several months? I know how to handle him," she assured Carmela.
"Thank you, Blair, but if ever Jacob will start maltreating you, you can let me know, okay?" She couldn't help but worry about the first stranger that Jacob chose to live with. The men before him were abusive and she wasn't sure if Jacob inherited their mean personality.
"Why are you so kind to me, Mrs. Gordon?"
"You're like a daughter to me now," she replied. "Anyway, I just dropped by to say hello. Can you keep my visit a secret to Jacob?"
Blair nodded and promised the woman that it would be a secret between them. "It must be hard," she commented. "Such as?"
"When he decided to move out," Blair replied and she was right when Carmela's eyes glistened with tears. She had no idea about their family issue why Jacob disliked being with women. "It's manageable," Carmela replied.
When Carmela Gordon left, Blair went inside the apartment and prepared their dinner. She's a housekeeper during the day and his mistress at night. Before she moved in, Jacob informed her that they have a line of activities to attend. At exactly six in the evening, Jacob came home but he's not alone. Alexandra came with him and the other woman was excited. She wanted to confront Jacob right away but she didn't want to alert his suspicions. "Who is she?"
"My secretary," he answered.
Blair nodded and smiled at Alexandra. "Please stay with us until dinner," she said.
"Hmmm I think I will be staying here even after dinner," Alexandra replied.
Her smile faded immediately and then she glanced at Jacob who acted as if nothing happened when he brought another woman into the apartment. She walked towards Jacob and grabbed his arm. "Let's talk," she commanded.

Jacob didn't object because he also wanted to explain. When his previous secretary told him that the perfect candidate for his mistress was already chosen, he just nodded, but when he saw how exquisite the woman was, he was terrified of falling for her. "It will be for convenience purposes only," he explained.
"Why here?" She asked because she didn't want to live with Alexandra under a single roof. She's not being judgmental but there's something about Alexander that she despised. "It's temporary," he said.
"I'm also temporary in your life or do you want to break our contract? I will be more than happy to do it, Mr. Gordon!"
Jacob was caught off guard at Blair's outburst. Whenever he mentioned her name, images of his previous secretary clouded his mind. "Don't ever think about it. I said it's only temporary!"
"I refused to live here with another woman," she insisted. "However, if you will insist on having her near you, then who am I to object? You have to choose between me or her," she warned him. "Can't we just live together? Harmoniously?"
"No!"
Jacob clenched his jaw when his mistress refused to live with Alexandra. "Why not?"
"Do I really have to explain? I don't like her so you have to choose, either me or her," she warned him.
"I hope that you'll be as nice as my previous secretary," he scolded the woman but she didn't even lower her gaze.

"I'm different," she replied.
"Of course you are! Just look at you," he said and walked away.
What was that about? Blair was insulted when he just walked away without giving her a chance to retaliate. She followed Jacob into the kitchen and forced a smile on Alexandra. "I'm sorry if there's a misunderstanding, Alexandra." "It's okay, I understand."
Blair smirked at the woman who probably believed that she could take him away from her. "If you need help in finding a new place, I can help you."
"I can manage, thank you."
"Good," Blair said before she set up the table for dinner which consisted mostly of his favorites such as baked chicken breast and hard-boiled eggs. When they signed their agreement, Jacob was meticulous about the food she's going to prepare.
After dinner, she heard that Jacob invited Alexandra for a cup of coffee on the balcony. She was amazed at Jacob for obviously flirting with Alexandra even when she's around. While they enjoyed a freshly brewed coffee at the balcony where fresh air was abundant, she was stuck in the kitchen with the dishes.
She expedited her chore and served herself with a cup of coffee before she joined them at the balcony. "Is it cold in here?" She asked after noticing the super closeness of Alexandra's body to Jacob. Then she squeezed herself between them and aimed for Jacob's ear. "I thought we're exclusive," she whispered.
"We'll talk again later," he said.
Her brows snapped together when Jacob stood up and left her for Alexandra. It was the most embarrassing moment of her life! Her pride was broken. Her heart was crushed. All because of him! Maybe, she would put her good look into use!
