Chapter 33
Chapter 33
Giselle was never a pushover. When she first entered the industry, she dared to argue with business partners in the meeting room, fighting for what was right.
Now, she was not afraid of Jemmy’s tricks.
Giselle grinned. “Sure, since you’re in such a rush… I’ll leave it all to you. If we can’t release today, then we won’t release. today.”
Jenny was about to rejoice when Giselle spoke again, “Half of the department’s performance is completed by the people under my leadership. Since you are so confident, you can take charge of all of it.”
The agent department had set performance indicators, including monthly updates, video views, and some others.
Failing to meet them would result in a reduction in the entire department’s bonus and even deductions from salaries.
One of the reasons why Domino Media was so anxious to attract investment was to expand its scale because very few of those signed Internet celebrities had real potential..
Most of them were simply muddling along. Among all their Internet celebrities, the one with the most followers and the most stable video performance was Oscar.
He was now a top Internet celebrity of Domino Media and widely recognized on the entire network platform.
Therefore, if his video release was affected, it would not just be Giselle who would bear the consequences.
The entire department would have to share the losses.
The employees all rushed to advise. “Jenny… since you’re not releasing today, why don’t you take a rest now and let them. edit Giselle’s video?”
“Giselle is a bit more urgent, so let’s follow the rules. Your video can definitely be completed tomorrow!”
Jenny never expected Giselle to involve the entire department. Once interests were bound together, nobody could stay out
of it.
Even though she was arrogant, she wouldn’t create conflict with the entire department. Otherwise, not even Mickey would. fully support her.
Jenny lowered her voice and said harshly, “You’re lucky, but don’t count on it always being that way.”
Giselle sneered. Jenny sounded extremely stupid. If it weren’t for the man behind Jenny, Jenny would have been crushed in the industry since she was literally good for nothing.
Giselle relied on her own efforts to work up the ranks, from copywriting to planning, to eventually an agent.
She had accumulated experience and abilities that were far beyond what Jenny could compete with.
Jenny was only cocky because of Mickey and her privileged background, allowing her to act so flamboyantly in front of
Giselle.
Due to the incident, Giselle didn’t get off work on time.
The originally planned 6 o’clock release time was not met. However, it was still within a reasonable timeframe for that day.
When Oscar learned about the delay in his video release, he was quite dissatisfied. “What’s going on? What are they doing in post–production?”
“It has nothing to do with the post–production. Jenny Clarks is causing trouble.”

“She’s got a lot of nervel” Oscar angrily mocked, “Who does she think she is to delay my video?
“Calm down. Don’t create too much conflict with her. Many of your commercials are under Mickey Blake’s control”
Oscar appeared indifferent. “I don’t care. Worst case scenario, I don’t earn any money. Whatever. The company wants to make more money than I do.”
You’re a wealthy young boy, so, of course, you don’t care. But think it over. We have to make a living”
Oscar ground his teeth on the other end of the phone and suggested, “Why not terminate the contract? You and I can start our own business and form our own team! I believe we don’t have to work with Domino Media to succeed…”
Giselle chuckled. “Do you know how much energy and money it takes to build a team? It’s not just me who brought you to where you are now with success.”
“But I know your ability. You can definitely…”
“The responsibility is too great. I can’t afford for you to lose followers if we go independent.”
“It’ll be fine. If I’m not popular anymore, I’ll just go home and inherit the family business!”
“As expected of a wealthy young boy… Let’s forget about it for now. We’ll talk about it when your contract is up.”
Shortly after ending the call, Giselle received a call from Hymes.
“Why couldn’t I reach you earlier?”
Upon hearing his voice, Giselle couldn’t help but smile. “I was talking to Oscar about work. I’ll be back a little late today.”
It was already 7 o’clock at that point.
Hymes paused. “Are you still at the company?”
“I was just about to leave.”
Hymes‘ low tone seemed to have a comforting influence. “Are you busy today?”
“Aye, long story. I’ll tell you when I’m back home…
“OK. I’ll wait.”
After working overtime in the past, Giselle would only feel a sense of quietness and inexplicable loneliness at home. But on the way home that day….
She thought about the fact that there was a lamp in that house that was specifically lit for her as if a heart had found a harbor
to streamer.
Thinking about Hymes busy in the kitchen, Giselle hastened her pace.
Once she entered the community, she saw a familiar figure standing under a streetlight from a distance.
The night was already dark, and the streetlight elongated his shadow.
In such darkness, the dim light enveloped his body, forming a soft golden edge.
Even his chiseled face appeared softer and more intricate.
And his deep, dark eyes were seemingly ready to absorb her soul.
Giselle was stunned at first, but a look of uncontrollable joy gradually appeared on her face.

She walked over more urgently, her voice filled with a hint of excitement. “What are you doing here?”
“I figured you’d be arriving soon, so I came down to welcome you.”
Hymes‘ deep voice made Giselle’s ears feel numb.
She couldn’t help reaching out to pinch her cars.
“It is rather safe here. You don’t have to come here to escort me…
“Yeah, but it is already dark. You, being a young lady, must always be cautious.”
Hymes naturally took the bag Giselle was carrying. “Let’s head upstairs.”
Giselle looked up at Hymes and noticed how tall he was.
He was definitely over six feet and two inches tall, much taller than her. Giselle had a rare tall and slender figure among most girls, but she looked petite when being with him.
Giselle couldn’t help but stand on her toes. “What made you so tall?”
Hymes patted her head. “I’m guessing… milk and basketball.”
“Hey! Don’t pat my head like I’m some elf. I am five feet and seven inches tall!”
Hymes lowered his gaze and looked at their shadows on the ground.
Their bodies were close together, one tall and one short, as if they were the most intimate couple.
He had a joyous sparkle in his eyes. “I think it’s just perfect, the height difference between us.”
They quickly arrived upstairs, and after entering the house, Giselle immediately smelled a delicious aroma wafting through the air. “My colleague tasted your cooking today and raved about it!”
