Chapter 82: Childhood Sweetheart VS Arranged Wife
Wesley lowered his gaze, methodically adjusting his cufflinks.
Hearing her words, he couldn’t help but chuckle.
“I have slumbered for three years, never start fires in my dreams.”
Sandra’s lips pursed slightly.
“I’m talking about the time before you slumbered.”
“I don’t believe you. You must’ve had a lewd dream about her that you didn’t want to wake up from.”
Wesley turned his head and looked at her, “Jealous?”
Sandra paused a moment then swiftly denied it, “Not at all.”
She added, “However, I have to perform a jealous wife now.”
The smile on Wesley’s face vanished in an instant.
He strolled off, without offering her any explanation regarding his relationship with Holly.
“Mrs. Cooper,” A woman, clad in a haute couture gown, gracefully approaching her.
This must be Holly.
Honestly, her appearance was quite agreeable.
With a little face and eyes brimming with tenderness, she seemed gentle.
Her voice carried some softness.
If Sandra were a man, she would love Holly.
“Hi.”
Sandra maintained a smile, exuding elegance.
Not sure if it was an illusion, but she felt an aura of hostility emanating from the seemingly amiable Holly.
Until the situation was clearer, she chose to sidestep any direct confrontation.
Holly approached and gracefully organized her gown.
“Hi, I’m Holly.”
Sandra responded with a smile, “It may be best to address you as Miss Campbell.”
Holly echoed with a benign smile.
She reached out, intending to clasp Sandra’s arm.
Sandra subtly edged towards Wesley, shooting him a warning glance.
Deal with her by yourself!
The next moment, Sandra linked arms with Wesley.
“You are such a loving couple.” Holly remarked.
Sandra could finally confirm her suspicions.
This was not just hostility–this was a killing intent.

Clearly, Holly was coquettishly seeking Wesley’s attention, expressing her jealousy.
Holly called her Mrs. Cooper. It was more like a provocation to Wesley.
A warning.
An expression of grievance.
Sandra couldn’t help but think, Holly is a master.
With an action or a word laden with profound implications, she knew how to conquer a man.
If Angela possessed even fifty percent of Holly’s capabilities, she wouldn’t fail like this.
Hailey spoke with a chuckle, “Why don’t you come in, Holly?”
Holly’s face bore traces of tenderness, “Wesley, let’s go.”
Wesley remained still.
His gaze shifted to Sandra.
“Do you wish to join them?”
“No.”
Thus, Wesley spoke up.
“Grandma, Sandra is tired. Can we take a leave now?”
Hailey’s expression darkened in an instant.
“Wesley, what are you saying? Today we are all here for Holly!”
Holly looked fraught.
Her eyes were fixed on Wesley, expressing unspoken love amid her suffering and restraint.
If one harbored her a trace of affection, witnessing her sorrow would be unbearable.
Yet Wesley offered her not even a glance.
“She received enough welcome here. Sandra and I need to go back and rest, don’t we, dear?”
Hearing dear, Sandra felt goosebumps spread across her skin.
A swift pinch on his arm was her silent plea for less saccharine endearments.
Wesley’s deep gaze landed on her once more.
It seemed to warn: Cease your fidgeting, or face the consequences.
Sandra, “……

Debra chimed in awkwardly with a laugh.
“Wesley, you’ve known Holly since forever, and she has even brought you a gift this time.”
“In the past, whenever Holly would return, you always had gifts prepared. Surely you’re not empty–handed today?”
Holly smiled, “Wesley didn’t know I would come, so…”
Debra’s smile deepened, “Even without a gift in hand, I am certain preparations were made. He cherishes
you most.”
Then, she glanced at Wesley, “Right?”

Wesley remained expressionless.
“Ask Mrs. Cooper. She’s the on who should have been arranged everything for me.”
Sandra, “???”
I’ve seen scapegoats, and I’m one now?
I’ve never heard of that bullshit!
Sandra rolled her eyes, “Sorry.”
Her countenance suddenly switched to one of blame.
“When you mentioned a friend, you did not tell me she’s Miss Campbell! I apologize for my negligence.”
Effortlessly, she returned the pressure back to him.
She refused to be a scapegoat alone.
Wesley, “…..”
Resigned, he said, “Your negligence is acceptable, I forgive you.”
Sandra blinked.
Their flirting made the faces of Debra and Holly darkened.
The first to buckle under the strain was Holly.
She started crying.
“Wesley, are you resenting my abrupt departure abroad three years ago?”
Before Wesley could utter a word, she sighed,
“I know I deserve that.”
“I should be by your side, enduring those hardships with you.”
Angela interjected at once,
“You hold no fault, Holly. Your studies were not to be abandoned.”
“Upon learning of Wesley’s accident, it was your parents forbidding you to return.”
“Now after your graduation, your immediate return speaks volumes of your love to Wesley.”
There stood Sandra, Wesley’s rightful wife.
In speaking thus, Angela rendered Sandra invisible.
Holly dabbed her tears.
“Mistakes were made. I must bear the consequences of my errors.”
Wesley’s gaze shifted to her.
The chill in his voice was palpable.
“I did not blame you.”
Holly’s eyes shimmered with hope.
Her demeanor vibrated with excitement.
She stepped forward, “Wesley, …”
