Chapter 81: Your Old Flame?

Sandra rolled her eyes.

“He doesn’t have any hot friends to introduce to you.”

Lisa’s spirits deflated instantly.

“You are married, while I remain single,” she lamented

Sandra smiled,

“Come on, you got plenty of boyfriends.”

Lisa responded with a chuckle, “I am not good at choosing.”

“If you’re interested in the Cooper Group, I can arrange a meeting.”

At this declaration, Lisa’s demeanor sobered.

“Sandra, you are too kind.”

Sandra was aware of the shifting fortunes of the Cooper Group.

Under Wesley’s leadership, it had once claimed its own domain abroad.

Tragically, with Wesley having lain vegetative for three years, that domain had all but crumbled.

Fortunately, the loyalty of the people to Wesley endured.

If Wesley was willing to fund Lisa, she could conserve much time.

Sandra reminded,

“But I cannot guarantee success.”

“Can you talk with him in bed?”

“He is beyond my persuasion,” Sandra shrugged.

Frustration crept into Lisa, “Fine. I shall devise my own plan.”

Business and friendship remained distinct realms for them.

Sandra reiterated her warning to Lisa to tread carefully in Geniston before departing.

Wesley awaited at a modest distance from the hotel.

Sandra, upon emerging, caught sight of his car.

Yet, she hesitated. Her gaze was drawn instead to another car shaded by a tree.

Inside, both Archie and Mason tensed.

“Have we been exposed?” questioned Archie in trepidation.

“She cannot see us through the car window.”

Archie was impressed, “Her intuition is remarkable.”

Drawing a deep breath, Mason said, “She is unique.”

Archie remained skeptical.

He glanced at the messages on his phone while saying, “Your cousin from the Campbell family, what is

her name again…?

Mason lit a cigarette, “Holly Campbell.”

“The Campbell family has great power. Maybe we should try our luck and ask for their help?”

Mason shook his head. “They look down on me.”

“What are we gonna do?”

“Archie, find out what Sandra likes. I need to please her.”

Although Archie didn’t agree with that, he had no choice but to comply.

In the midst of this, Sandra had already slid into Wesley’s car.

The taillights of the departing car illuminated, rapidly fading into the distance.

The sight of the license plate left Archie astonished, “Did Wesley come personally?”

“Wesley is notorious for his ruthless tactics. Sandra must be a formidable figure, too.”

Archie’s worried, “She’s Vincent’s sister. I’m afraid she will prioritize her own brother’s interests.”

“We will see,” Mason mused, recalling Vincent’s demeanor from earlier.

Seated inside the car, Wesley inquired, “Did you meet with Lisa?”

Sandra made no attempt to conceal the truth.

She had anticipated his suspicions about her identity ever since their initial encounter.

There’s no need for secrecy.

“Lisa is a close friend.”

Joey was taken aback, “Fuck.”

Sandra,

“Sorry, I didn’t mean it.”

Sandra smiled, “Are you acquainted with Lisa?”

Joey was striving for emotional stability, despite his voice betraying a tremble.

“Lisa is a legend within the entertainment industry.”

“Right from her debut, her work in a directorial masterpiece garnered all accolades.”

“With every successive film, she enshrined herself as an icon, her works becoming textbooks for cinema studies.”

“Her discerning eye in casting actors is unparalleled, her choices incredibly precise.”

“You have little idea how many stars yearn to collaborate with her!”

“However, in recent years, Lisa’s commitments abroad have kept her from our shores.”

“But now, as she prepares to produce a mythological film about our own national lore, we are all abuzz with excitement.”

Sandra responded, “Wow.”

The sparkle in Joey’s eyes couldn’t be missed.

Chapter 81: Your Old Flame?

“If you and Lisa are friends, Mason would have to beg you, and our company…”

He promptly silenced any further remarks.

Wesley intervened, “Your friend would not be entangled with our company’s affairs.”

Sandra understood that Mason was like a time bomb for the Cooper.

Yet, that bomb’s target was the Cooper not her concern.

The Cooper were unwilling to pay.

The reason for her summons today likely concerned the money again.

She could only speculate what tactics Hailey had devised to coerce her compliance.

The car soon arrived at the Cooper Mansion.

Upon alighting, Zachary promptly attended to Sandra.

“Madam, please tread with care. A formidable guest graces us today.”

Zachary’s warning implied a visitor of high standing.

“Who might it be?”

Sandra perked up with interest.

Zachary divulged, “Holly Campbell, the esteemed heiress of the Campbell, and the Cooper’s principal ally throughout Wesley’s incapacitation.”

Pausing, he lowered his voice, “Hailey once aspired to annul the betrothal to the Hill in favor of allying with the Campbell.”

“Regrettably, the accident that befell Wesley dissuaded further mention of the alliance.”

Н

Comprehension dawned on Sandra.

Holly posed as her rival.

With a wry smile directed toward Wesley, she playfully inquired, “Your old flame?”
