Chapter 50: Exposing Emily’s True Colors

Ben was provoked by Sandra’s question.

His face turned livid in an instant.

If he hadn’t been stopped, he might have slapped Sandra directly.

Emily spoke up.

“Sandra, apologize to Mr. Harrison.”

Sandra sneered, “Why?

“Did I do something wrong?”

A hint of coldness flashed across Ben’s face, and he sounded furious.

“I couldn’t see any elements of traditional culture in these patterns.”

He seemed to think that as someone “respected and revered“, he couldn’t reprimand the younger generation.

So, he regained his composure and continued in a serious tone.

“You may want to show off or gain fame, but you are still young and there are many possibilities in the future. Don’t be too hasty for quick success.

Laughter could be heard around them.

They were mocking Sandra for being vain.

“Mr. Harrison is a master painter. Does she think her knowledge is better than his?”

“I know she wants to make a name for herself in the Cooper Group, but she should do it the right way.”

“It makes me sick.”

as in a heated discussion, someone let the reporters

The reporters started taking pictures and aimed their cameras at Sandra

Emily, with teary eyes, looked at the reporters.

“Don’t make up stories. Sandra didn’t mean it.”

With that, she started crying without explaining anything

The reporters asked her, and she cried out loud.

It seemed like she was caught in a difficult situation.

The reporters wanted to know the specifics, so they asked people around.

Soon, cameras and microphones were aimed at Sandra.

“Mrs. Cooper, what evidence do you have?”

“Yeah, you can’t make baseless accusations against Mr. Harrison

“If that’s the case, Mr. Harrison can sue you. Do you want to spend the rest of your life in prison?”

The words became harsher.

Sandra glanced at the crowd.

Finally, her gaze fell on Emily.

Emily put Sandra in the spotlight with just a few words.

And she just watched the chaos unfold.

Sensing Sandra’s hostile gaze, Emily gave a sneer.

As if saying, “I know you can’t stand me, but you can’t do anything to

me.”

The next moment!

Sandra spoke up, “Emily, you haven’t finished.”

Emily thought that her work was done and that she could stand aside.

But she was pulled back into the center of the storm again.

She feigned surprise, “What are you talking about?”

“What do you mean by the words you just said?” Sandra repeated to make sure Emily understood.

Emily pretended to be innocent, “I really don’t understand what your

mean.

“Alright, do you think what I said was wrong and that Mr. Harrison was slandered?”

Emily quickly lowered her head and started sobbing.

Her silence, combined with her crying, evoked various thoughts.

“Are you trying to please both sides by not speaking?”

Philip couldn’t accept it anymore, “Sandra, you’ve gone too far!”

“Yeah, so what?”

Sandra retorted without hesitation.

Philip gritted his teeth, “You have no shame!”

“Your beloved sister has shame. Why don’t you ask her if she thinks what I said was wrong and that Mr. Harrison was slandered?”

Ben snorted coldly, “You know very well what you’ve done. Why make it difficult for Emily?”

Sandra smiled, “Mr. Harrison, we are sisters. Perhaps Emily thinks you have been too harsh.”

Ben’s face darkened.

Emily could only retort, “Sandra, Mr. Harrison is respected and

revered. He wouldn’t falsely accuse you.”

She was cunning.

If Ben was right, she would be considered brave to turn against her

sister.

If Ben was wrong, she could say, “I didn’t expect Mr. Harrison to misunderstand you.”

Emily had a very glib tongue.

Sandra sneered. She wouldn’t let Emily win.

“So, you think I’m wrong, and Mr. Harrison is right?

In any case, she wanted Emily to take sides.

Emily felt like slapping Sandra across the face, but she couldn’t lose her composure in front of the reporters.

She took a deep breath to stay calm,

“Think whatever you want.”

She looked helpless as if she had been treated wrongly..

Sandra took a step forward, “There are so many reporters here. Are you telling everyone that you no longer support me?”

Emily looked startled, and Sandra continued.

“Didn’t you say you would give way to me and not harm me anymore?

Panic appeared on Emily’s face.

When she went up the mountain to bring Sandra back, she had to pretend to be gentle in front of her five brothers.

But Sandra held what she had said over her head.

Philip was right there, and she couldn’t deny it.

The reporters kept asking questions and she didn’t have time to think.

In her desperate situation, she could only choose to stand by Ben’s side.

“I still stand by what I said. Mr. Harrison wouldn’t falsely accuse you. Just apologize to him, and he won’t hold it against you.”

Sandra feigned disappointment, “You went back on your word. I’m disappointed in you.”

Philip snapped.

“Sandra, that’s enough!”

Sandra sneered inwardly.

Emily had been pretending to be pitiful and bullying her, but Philip was as blind as a bat.

There was a female reporter in the crowd, and her camera had been. focusing on Emily.

When Philip scolded Sandra, she saw Emily’s smug smile in the camera.

She was stunned for a moment, thinking she was having a

hallucination.

“Emily advised you to apologize to Mr. Harrison out of concern. Since you’re so stubborn, there’s no need for us to care about you anymore!”

That was what Sandra wanted.

“That’s all you ever have to say.”

Philip was perplexed.
