Moon Bound

Chapter Seven

Judah

My hands are tied.

I need to get back to my pack, but I also need to stay here and help Alpha Wren's pack until he's awake. I also need to have a clear head on how to deal with these witches and get rid of them once and for all.

There are only two options for me right now. Rage and take my anger out on the training field, or sit beside Alpha Wren and pray to the moon goddess to pull through for him.

I chose the first even though the second option just might be the only one that might help.

I wiped the little sweat I had on my brow, while Cole one of my top warriors drank water, and Alexander my gamma had completely given up on fighting me and has laid on the ground sprawled out.

Alexander didn't necessarily need to train with me, his job would mostly be to watch over and protect my mate whenever I find her. The Gamma title was just to make sure that the pack respects him and his decisions while protecting my future mate.

This was more for me to not force the members of Alpha Wrens pack to submit to me.

I am well aware that if I wasn't here there would probably be a full on rebellion going on. They were pushing boundaries without their Alpha to put them in their place.

Their beta has made it clear that they are forbidden to touch anything that may have been damaged by the magic and that they are to not enter the forest. Yet, a select number of pack members found it necessary to not listen.

It was mostly the pups that wanted to explore, but I know they were only attempting to push their luck because the Alpha was out of commission.

"If you keep this up, you're going to end up killing Alex." Cole said as he held his hand out to Alex.

Alex groaned as he turned on his stomach, refusing Cole's hand.

"You're right. I need to just calm down." Dealing with this pack without their alpha has been nothing less than a damn headache.

"I understand, everything is pilling up. The witches and rogues, this magic that nobody knows, the comas and seizures and the pack trying to see what they can get away with."

Cole listing out everything that is going on just irritated me more than I already was. I am the King, I should know how to fix these things.

The only thing I could fix is the pack's behavior. Yet I know once I've forced them to submit to my will it will physically hurt or potentially kill them if they attempted to go against it.

The only thing that I can fix is the pack's behavior. I could easily force them to submit to me, but doing that came with consequences. It will physically hurt them and even could potentially kill them if they try to go against it.

"We're going to check the the perimeter of the border of this pack, we need to see if there was anything that the scouting parties missed." I desperately need a distraction from this and while looking for lost pack members won't take my mind off of it, it'll keep me busy.

Cole quickly nodded his head, while Alex got up to his feet.

"We should walk on foot, we might miss something if we're running wolf form or not." Cole stated.

I nod my head while I verbally agree. "That's good."

Alex made his way to us. "We should also bring water and other supplies just incase we find someone that needs help."

I nodded my head. "Go find Jade get some supplies from her, and tell her to go help the warriors with their minor injuries that they got today from training."

Alex nodded his head and started to make his way to the pack house.

"Sofia mind linked me earlier, she said she has a healer on the way and she is confident in her abilities to save Alpha Wren and Scarlet." Cole stated.

I turned to Cole. "A healer? you mean a doctor?" I ask.

"It's probably just a doctor, but Sofia said healer. We probably shouldn't worry too much about the semantics."

I nodded my head. She was probably attempting to relay the information as quickly as possible.

I nodded, and heard Alex rushing back over to us. "I got what we need let's go!"

I couldn't help but glare at his enthusiasm, but he wasn't fazed.

We started making our way through the forest, making sure to avoid any of the parts of it that were damaged by the witches. We will walk the permitter of the border and listen for any injured and missing wolves. Going beyond the border right now might cause unnecessary risks.

I was the first to speak up after a while, they should know the information I was told recently. "Beta John informed me that some of the pack members that are missing are male warriors and pups."

Cole sighed and rubbed the back of his neck. "I understand taking the warriors, but pups? That doesn't make any sense."

"I was informed that they were drinking the pups blood as they were attacking the pack." Just repeating that was enough to anger me all over anger. I clenched my fists in an attempted not to punch anything and felt my veins throb. As King my anger should be more controlled, but unfortunately I have yet to completely master it.

Alex stopped walking abruptly. "Blood magic." He whispered.

I turned to him. "Blood Magic? What the hell is that?" I asked as Cole and I stopped walking as well.

"A form of magic that was forbidden centuries ago, it's disgusting. My mother told me stories about witches who were born with magic, but they became greedy. They wanted to be more powerful and control everyone and everything. They take blood from those who were created with magic, and when they do the magic they cast is horrifyingly strong. I thought it was just a story she used to tell me, but now I know it's real." The fear in his eyes lets me know that what he is saying is true.

Cole placed his hand on Alex's shoulder. "Do you remember the end? How the witches were stopped?"

Alex dropped his head, "No. The only thing I remember is an angel and a witch coming together to stop them all. There were very little details in the story."

An angel? Where the hell am I supposed to find an angel? Do they even exist?

I couldn't help the growl that came out of my mouth, as I turned to punch a tree with full strength.

I watched as it fell down the ground shaking under my feet from its weight, but it did nothing to dissolve my rage. The only thing I got from that was busted knuckles. I feel like a complete failure.

Cole and Alex watched unfazed as I attempted to calm myself down. This isn't the first outburst of mine they have witness and I am certain that it won't be the last.

"Don't worry, we'll find a way to beat these rogues and witches. We only need to trust in our moon goddess. I'm sure she is just as disgusted by blood magic as the rest of us are." Alex stated. He is probably the only one who prays to our moon goddess daily. Not one of the wolves who pray to her when in a bad situation.

I nodded. Even though I doubt that she will interfere on our behalf there is nothing wrong with having hope.

Just as we began walking again I heard footsteps coming our way. They were light I almost confused them for a female until I smelt their scent.

We all turned to where the footsteps were coming from.

Cole took a step in the direction, "Are you a member fr-" Cole's sentence was cut off, first he froze then his body slowly fell to the ground. He fainted.

Alex quickly outstretched his arms and caught him, but ended up fainting as well.

I growled out loud. I was beginning to shift when a voice called out. "There is no need to do all of that, I just came here to talk."

A young man walked out of the trees, he was slender, had dark hair with just a little bit of ashy blonde in the front of his hair.

Benjamin. The moon goddess' right hand man.

I've seen him a few times, but that doesn't mean that I'm not going to stay on guard. He's been a pain in my ass for a decade now, and I won't put it past him to try and pull one over on me.

"I'm sorry about your two pack members, I'm not really in a social mood. Don't worry though they'll wake up in about ten minutes." He taunted.

"What do you want?" I don't have time for his nonsense right now.

He shrugged his shoulders with a smile. "I just came to observe the damage that was done by those rogues and witches. Gotta say I'm a bit surprised to see them working together. I guess all is fair in war."

I couldn't help but growl at him, my fists clenched and my body shaking, my wolf is begging me to shift and attack this man.

I know it wouldn't be wise. The moon goodness would probably strip me from my wolf before I could even lay one hand on him. He probably wouldn't even need her help to take me down. I've heard stories of things that he's capable of.

His booming laughter filled the silence. "I also came here for another reason, King Judah. I'm here to show you your mate."

I wanted to wipe that obnoxious look off his face. "Now is not the time to play games with me." He's played games with me before when it comes to my mate and I know that he would love to kick me while I'm already down.

He smirked. "No, absolutely no games, just want to share my vision with you. If you don't give me permission I will just force it on you. I do say, seeing the Alpha King in pain at my hands? The moon goddess would surely give me a grave punishment."

"Fine, show me."

His smirk got wider. "As you wish."

He closed his eyes, but I didn't close mine. Follower of the moon goddess or not I know that I couldn't trust him.

My vision turned white, and I felt like I was pulled under. I couldn't feel anything and I was just in my mind.

Then what feels like a never ending loop of images that I can't see clearly until, I see a baby, not much older than a newborn be placed in water, she started to giggle as her blue eyes turned brown and her brown hair turned into a blonde that matched the patch in Ben's hair.

It turned black before I'm assuming the same girl who couldn't be older than ten, held her hands up to Ben. His arm was broken, his bone sticking out and he was encouraging her to touch it. Her hands glowed white and after she removed her hands his arm was as good as new. It would have taken a regular wolf at least two days for that kind of injury to heal.

It turned black once again until the same girl was now older, and wearing a tiara.

A tiara that I made when I was barely ten. It was far from perfect but my mother always told me that my mate would appreciate the sentiment behind the things that I have done for her. How devoted I was to her even as a young child.

Seeing that tiara on her head made everything click. That beautiful woman was my mate.

I felt Ben retreat from my mind.

My vision returned, and Ben just couldn't seem to take the smug look off his face.

Follower of the moon goddess or not, I don't give a fuck.

I quickly grabbed him by the front of his shirt and brought him up to eye level with me. "Where is she?"

He raised his hands up, and I was surprised to see the fear in his eyes, "Just put me down and we can talk about it. I'm not here to fight you in any way my King."

He bowed his head to me and that was the only reason I let him go. That and in the vision he seemed close with my mate. Her first impression of me doesn't need to be of me ending the life of someone she cares about.

Even though I should be the only male that she cares about.

"Her name is Marisol, she also works closely with the moon goddess. She knows that she is your mate, but she has been trying to avoid that."

My mate avoiding me? "Why?"

"Well if you would have paid attention to the vision that I showed you, you would see that she is smaller than the average female wolf. She is a runt." He rolled his eyes. "It would be beneficial if you pay attention to the things that people show you."

A runt? They barely live past being one years old, let alone old enough to be paired.

She did seem small in the vision but I assumed that it was just my mind playing tricks on me. "How?"

"When she was born her mother and father were desperate to let her live, they were willing to do anything. My mother met hers and witnessed the distress she was going through. Most wolves aren't compassionate when they have a runt, they leave them for the pack doctors to deal with, and then they die. Her parents wanted better, and my mother admired that. My mother turned to my father, who turned to the moon goddess who saved her."

I nodded. Encouraging him to continue.

"So she thinks she's not good enough for you. There are certain things that she isn't able to do which isn't my place to tell you. You need to show her that no matter what you want her."

There was no doubt in me, runt or not I want her. I need her. "I do."

He laughed. "I know you do, now you have to prove it to her."

"Where is she?"

"I'm not sure, but I'm sure you'll be able to find her. Almighty Alpha King." He said with a smirk. Back to being obnoxious.

I growled and lunged at him, only for him to disappear out of thin air. I clenched my fists. I know my mates name, but had no damn clue on where to find her.

Marisol.
