Chapter Eight
Judah
I have not moved from this spot in fifteen minutes. Ben told me that they would wake in ten minutes, but he was wrong. Probably lied, and that irritated me and my wolf. He has always loved to play games.
The only thing I can think about is my little mate, Marisol. Trying to figure out the fastest way I could get her into my arms. My mark on her, and her mark on me. How to get my scent on her, and her scent on me.
She is, beautiful. Unique. I have never seen a female wolf look the way she does. Long almost white hair that I want to run my finger through. Her big round chocolate brown eyes that I know that I can get lost staring in. Her pouty lips that I am desperate to feel against mine. I can't help but wonder why I have never heard or seen her before this?
I've only known of Ben being the one to assist the moon goddes.
I hear Alex and Cole start slowly get up from the ground while letting out groans. Hearing their movements let me know that they were slowly starting to recover from Benjamin messing with their minds and knocking them out.
It surprised me that he had been able to enter their mind as easily as he did. It made me wonder if Marisol had the same ability.
"There are certain things that she isn't able to do which isn't my place to tell you."
His words run through my mind, it's best that I don't go in expecting her to be able do anything that Benjamin can do and let her tell me what she can do.
There is one thing that I know she can do, heal. In the vision I witnessed her heal Ben's broken arm in under a minute. It was truly fascinating to watch Ben's arm go from swollen, bruised and bent in the wrong direction to just back to the way that it originally was all in under a minute.
I turned to Alex and Cole and helped them make it to their feet. They swayed as they attempted to catch their balance.
Cole held the side of his head. "What the hell happened?"
"Do you remember the follower of the moon goddess? The one who came to the pack to help some of the wolves find their mates a few years ago? He entered your mind and shut off your brain for a little bit." Just saying what he did to them was enough to agitate me over it again. He had absolutely too much power.
"Benjamin? Why would he do that? We got along so great the last time I saw him." Alexander mumbled. His frown was deep and his brows furrowed over Benjamin's treatment.
Cole and I just ignored Alexander's unnecessary commentary.
"What was the reason for knocking us out? Especially when we are looking for this pack's members. " Cole snapped, the irritation clear in his voice. He has problems with Benjamin as well, for the same reason that I do. Taunting him when it comes to his mate.
"He showed me a vision of who my mate is, but the only thing I know is she is another follower of the moon goddess and her name. Marisol." I explain.
Cole nodded. "That's good. Not only do you have your mate, she'll be able to directly communicate with the goddess to guide us through this war."
I nodded my head. "That's a possibility." I agree with him.
Cole smirked at us. "If she is a follower of the moon goddess then she will be able to use her gifts to help us in the war as well." Always thinking of strategy. The reason why he's in charge of all of my warriors, but it is not happening when it comes to my mate.
"No, my mate will not be getting her hands dirty." I have to put my foot down with this one. Benjamin's words of what she may or may not be able to do ring through my mind. The last thing she will do is over exert herself trying to help others. I will have to make that clear with her as well.
Cole accepted my answer with a nod.
We started to walk again, I will have time to figure out my mate situation later. First we need to see if any of Alpha Wren's missing pack members are out here.
As we continued to walk the border, Alex had a little more pep in his step. I could feel the questions that he had for me. Either I entertain them now or his curiosity might cause him to explode later.
"Alex, if there's anything you want to say regarding my mate you might as well say it." I sighed.
I could feel the excitement roll off of him in waves. "Just give us information from the vision, I know they can be quite vague." He was practically beaming at me as we continued to walk.
Knowing that he and Marisol will be spending a lot of time together since he's who I assigned as my mates protector I decide to give him what he wants."Her name is Marisol, she is a runt but was saved by the moon goddess. She can heal people with just her hands. She is very small for a female wolf, but still is just gorgeous. Her eyes were so big and brown and in the vision the tiara she was wearing fit her perfectly. My little Marisol."
I paused from my ramblings about my mate when I realized we had circled the entire pack and haven't found a single sign of anyone that's missing from the pack.
When I heard Cole sigh I know that he had come to the same realization.
"Let's get back to the pack house, I need to check on Alpha Wren anyways." I state.
They both nodded and we started making our way through the forest back to the pack house.
Having my mate with me right now would help the foul mood that I am in right now, but I don't know how to get her to me.
I could send a warrior to each pack in the lands and tell them to bring her to me when she is found. Yet she might resist, and any wolf that would dare use force on her would meet their permanent end.
I could stick to just communicating with each alpha, they would never stand in between my mate and I. They would be proud that my mate is a member from their pack.
When we reached the outskirts of the forest Cole turned to me. "I am ready to send myself and a few warriors to each pack in search of your mate. We will search outside the lands if needed. It's the most important thing right now, your kingdom needs it Queen."
I couldn't help but smirk at Cole's words, we had the same thought process when it came to finding my mate.
"That is not necessary yet. I first plan to mind link each Alpha and ask them about a wolf named Marisol in their pack. If she can't be found within the pack then the three of us will search in every place until she is found."
Alex and Cole both nodded.
As we got closer to the pack house I see Sofia standing on the steps of the entrance. When she notices us she begins to walk in our direction she stop walking.
"My King." She said before she bowed her head. "Alpha Wren and Scarlet are awake, the healer that I brought here revived them."
Healer? It has to be.
"Marisol." I said, "Where is she?"
Sofia jerks her head back slightly in surprise. "You know her? Why didn't you get her and bring her here to save Scarlet and Alpha Wren? I just happened to see her at Alpha Gray's pack by chance."
I couldn't help the growl that rumbles in my chest, making the ground shake beneath my feet. Alex, Cole and Sofia instantly fall to their knees, showing me their submission.
"Question me when it comes to my mate again and see what happens." My voice shakes as I make the demand.
I could almost taste Sofia's fear, something I'm not used to. Then again she's never stepped out of line before.
"I'm sorry Alpha King, I am just concerned for everyone involved." She whispers.
They all slowly got to their feet, but made a point to not look anywhere near my face.
"Where is she?"
"If I would have known that she was your mate, I would have been gentler with her. I wouldn't have let her rush out of the room. I would ha-" She cuts herself off as she grabs at her chest. "I would have made her stay!"
"Gentler, were you rough with her?" I could hear the desperation in my voice. I have never had to physically reprimand a female in my pack before today, but if it came down to it I would.
"When I first saw her she healed a plant and then her friend told me that she had the ability to heal all living things. I told her to come here to heal Alpha Wren and when she refused I told her that knowingly letting and Alpha die while not doing anything to help would invoke your wrath." She explains.
I was bordering shifting when I lunged for her, only to be held back by Alex.
She threatened my mate. Using my status as the King to get her to do as she was told. If Marisol did want me before that it must have changed everything.
"Wait! She just left but maybe you can catch her scent on my hands. I held her while I walked her through the pack."
I turned to see one of the nurses that was assisting Jade. She held her hands out for me.
I grabbed her hands and memorized Marisol's scent off her.
I shifted and quickly ran off in the direction that I could smell my mate.
I will deal with Sofia's punishment later. I'll make it a severe one.
I quickly wove through the woods attempting to follow her scent, it was getting stronger and I knew I was close. I know that I am going to find her today.
I skidded to a stop when I saw her. Her back was to me, her long blonde hair made a curtain around her body. She was standing with Benjamin's arms around her. He was attempting to comfort her.
Ben turned his head over his shoulder and smirked at me. "It is time to go now little sister, let's get you out of here."
She turned around following Ben's gaze, and gasped when she saw me. I lunge towards both of them attempting to steal Marisol out of his arms, but they both disappear right as I was about to make contact with her.
I shifted back and threw myself to my knees. I couldn't hide the agony as I screamed in the forest.
I stepped out of the forest, it took me a while to accept that I had missed my opportunity to get my mate. All because of the damn wolf that she calls her brother. Benjamin.
Sofia is to blame as well.
I should just kill them both. On the grounds of being the reason that Marisol isn't in my arms right now.
I clenched my fists. As much as I want to punish her and make her an example of anyone who dares to threaten my mate I know she had good intentions. That and I don't think Marisol would respond well to seeing my brutality to those who disrespect her. She seems fragile.
When I find Marisol I will let her decide the punishment.
"Alpha King!" I turned to see Jade running up to me.
By the look of distress on her face I knew that this news couldn't be good.
She bows to me before speaking. "Alpha Wren and Scarlet are up and awake now."
Because of Marisol I add silently. I nodded at her. "Yes I am aware, why do I feel like there is more that you need to tell me?"
She takes in a deep breath before exhaling. "Well." She pauses before coming out and just saying it. "Scarlet can't use her magic and Alpha Wren can't feel his wolf or shift."
