Chapter Chapter Fifteen
Her conscious side speaks up, to see through the facade she's falling in unknowingly. But who knows when fate plays its handy job?
Precisely, to the turn of twists, her senses were solely dense off at the moment to hear anything apart from those words which she read in the walls were kept on repeating like a mantra recited with rosary beads by some tribals in the forests and caves.
But Elffy isn't the one that upsets the applecart and brings forth any rash conclusions thereby throwing away every wee bit of time and things they did and the hours they spent together in a decaying pit of worms.
At least not without getting the consent's open statement. With that determinant thought, she blew the bubble cone in the air thus making it scatter away and pop up in the air. As the room is yet again spacious and lively as it always seems to be, her mood runs off to various glimpses of another handful of things they had done in this tiny tree house.
Some of the times include of then playing hide and seek somewhere around the forestry during the moonlighting. It is Quen's chance to be the seeker, whereas Elffy tries to hide in the thick bushes. But the moonlight defies her pleas and highlights her hideout with its silvery rays.
When Quen calls out the last countdown, Elffy’s mind strikes an awesome idea. With a winning smirk adoring her heart-shaped face, she runs towards the giant trees and collects her needs.
When the final count dies out the silence prevailed over the arena, Elffy quickly throws the vines up in the air, which she collected, and tries to hide through reaching the crescent moon, by looping the endless vines around the edge of the moon with that supports, Elffy swings her way up to the moon’s notch.
Poor Quen has no idea but to search the whole forestry for her scent trails. As he was searching, Elffy admired the view up from the sky. It's no joke, cause it's breathtaking.
The fellow young and elder moons and stars in the row were gazing at her sudden presence among their nevertheless perpetual clan.
The on-off shines from the younger stars were mostly normalized in Elffenda. But today they were beaming and dancing in the skyline. But the truth is far behind her thoughts. As Elffy glued her gaze to the wonder happening around, the young stars, on the contrary, were trying to intimidate one another, like shiny star-kissed flower buds, thus pushing their luck far away, all for Elffy’s sole gaze to fall on them a little bit longer.
Once their works had reached the blind eye, they glowed, even more, brighter than the older stars which were grazed in the night sky, thus impressing the beautiful women seated on the top-notch of a fellow crescent moon's edge.
In addition to the things, something in the air called her out. It's a familiar voice, yet so distanced. Maybe, it's the other realms like their world is passing through theirs, ahead the perpetual pathway.
Elffy shrugs off and replaces her lost attention with the tiny glowing star buds. But once again she hears the ring of her name being called a wee bit louder and clearer. It's her name, that's sure but it's suddenly nearing her with a lesser extent of conspicuousness. Closer, it comes, and all she feels is a raised level of anxiety.
But her so-called clandestine act of hideout is revealed when something flicks her mid-back teardrop necklace which she used to wear as jewelry to her backless blouse... It's called lily of the valley pendant with a lone thread of chain made in silver with a teardrop necklace connecting the dots in her mid-back.
The thing which flicked her was hanging loose in her Ash blonde locks. On seeing it, Elffy squeezes her eyes shut and reminds herself that what she saw isn't a dream.
When the precious possession which got to her somehow was slipping out of her locks and was to fall, Elffy acts quickly without thinking and reaches down to pick up the thing before it's destroyed to dust.
But something caught her waist from behind before she could fall out from the height and pinned her back to a wall-like surface.
Her struggles were most likely filled with absent-mindedness. But it was seized only when the dropped thing raised itself in the air and swirled in circles like a showcase jewel displayed in a shop. A unique ring made by a rope of Twigs encircled like a spiral of roots with a Maple leaf blending the moonstone. The twigs were blended smoothly from inside with some letters carved.
But she can't read the letters. It's been shadowed and highlighted at the same time. Like an invisible cloak covering the words.
She tries and tries, several times, but can't reach the exact word out.
Huffing a sigh she resigns back to the thing holding her captive. Looking down it's a hand wrapped securely in a grip... Not so painful yet so distanced from it. Might she say, protectively?
As she tried to turn around to view the being, the hold on her waist tightened making her gasp. She stilled, not knowing what in the world she has been into.
Before she could formulate any plan to escape this hold, a low chuckle was heard.
This time, she knows the owner of the voice in her heart. It's Quen.
Again she heard it, but where is he? And why isn't he coming to her rescue from this giant being? And why is he laughing while she's struggling for the life of her poor waist? Apart from her worries rising to a peak, the long-awaited magic happens. The ring which was placed ahead of them was glowing in the moonlight, once the moonstone was placed towards the lighting stars.
And the words in it were displayed crystal clear. In a cursive writing style, in tiny words were written,
“Cross seven seas; One universe; Counting this moment”
Elffy’s brows raise at the quizzical note.
W-Wait does this means—
And a voice says in her ear,
“The Seven seas told me to reject the evidence of your eyes. But they didn't know It was my final, most essential part of my living.” He gushes in a hushed tone. But only Quen knows that his heart was through and through the lake of fire counting this moment.
Upon saying that Quen waited as he watched Elffy with a newfound interest, as she took a deep breath and muttered something to herself. Even if he tried he couldn't hear her words, though he has the magical sense to hear anything around the radius.
He knows that she will climb the moon one day. That's why he used to schedule playtime at night.
As thought he got his muse climbing through with the vines and seated at the top-notch of the moon's edge. On count, he thanked his heightened sense to view the details of his beloved's everlasting features.
Quen mummers some refined curses under his breath at the sinful beauty whose swan-like neckline adorned with the back-neck jewelry tantalizing his gaze to glue to the droplet hanging in her mid-back. She was an unimaginative beauty. And from this angle, the bodice of her backless blouse seems almost decadently low.
Her hair has been pulled up in a high pony which leaves the end of the locks untied causing it to bounce off from side to side with her every move and twist. So that one thick lock fell on her shoulder, curling seductively at the top of her blossoms every time he admires her. It seems to be programmed to be in that spot while his heart goes bizarre at that seducing beauty.
But his fear of her might fall got him out of her daze. But sooner than he thought, his fear came true when in her daze, he absentmindedly threw his heartfelt artwork as a cupid arrow toward her way
Instead of landing in her lap as planned it got stuck in her hair and was falling loose. His worst fear was cutting its way down with a mocking smirk.
As thought, Elffy reached out for it, but before the damage could be done, Quen whooshed off like a lighting star and held her waist thereby preventing her from falling hard.
He thought that his plan was breached into thin air, but she never guessed his presence, when he saw her struggling to let her out of his hold.
He was amused and excited to witness this fierce side of Elffy a wee bit more than he imagined it to be.
And when she gets to know that it's impossible to let herself out, she huffs so cutely, that his suppressed chuckles for so long erupt out for good.
Knowing that she is going to burst out if he continued his little game, so he called it a night to improve his kneading skills.
“ But you know what, Nobody has the right to Obey”
