Marry Ex's Uncle After Divorcement

Chapter 740

Chapter 740 I Don't Love You Anymore

Theresa had just reached the elevator when the man behind her walked up and grabbed her hand. It was

Charlie. Staring at him with wide eyes, she asked, "What are you doing?"

"Walk you upstairs," he replied.

"What?" Theresa was confused as Charlie lifted her up in his arms, just like he used to do. She couldn't help but laugh "Don't even try to make a move on me. I'm on my period."

Giving her a quick glance, he shrugged "I know."

"Then why would you still..." Theresa started.

Before she could finish the sentence, he interrupted her. "In your eyes, I'm just a man who thinks with my libido, right?" He carried her into the elevator, heading up to her room. They then ran into Brenda and Cristina on the way

Embarrassed to be spotted in Charlie's arms by them, she wished she could disappear into the floor. After Charlie carried her back to her room and place her on the bed, she complained, "It's all your fault. I was so embarrassed just now."

As he took off her shoes, he comforted her. "It's okay. They're not strangers."

"Cristina will think I'm with you again," she sighed, furrowing her brow.

He didn't say anything but silently put her shoes away. After that, he sat on the edge of the bed, looking at her.

Theresa didn't like being alone with him because it always brought back awkward memories to her. "You can go now. Don't stay in my room. I told you not to come in here without permission, didn't I?" I have something to ask you." He insisted.

"What is it?"

"You think I don't like you?"

Theresa's eyes widened in a daze. She immediately remembered the reason for their divorce. Although she was no longer his wife, she now still felt embarrassed by his question. She bit her lip and unconsciously gripped the blanket tightly, trying to appear calm.

Hesitating for a little while, she muttered slowly, "I know you have been bothered by my past relationship with Jimmy. It's not fair for you to be with someone like me. I also can totally understand you, actually. I will never push you to spend your life with me. You don't have to please me for the sake of Leonard and Ben. You know, they are both good kids, smart enough to understand that their parents can't be together. It won't affect their growth, mental health, or something like that."

Knowing Charlie's personality well, she assumed that he wanted to bring her back to the Calsis family only for the sake of the children. But she didn't think it necessary. 'Many children grow up with just one parent due to divorce, but as long as they are educated well, they would still grow up healthy and happy.' She firmly believed

He sighed. "What I want to say has nothing to do with the children."

"Then why did you come here?" After he found out the secret she had tried to hide from him, she was always afraid that he would come to bother her. She also believed that he came over just to talk about the children.

Charlie's gaze became tender. "I just want to tell you that I really like you."

She laughed with a hint of sarcasm in her tone. Ignoring him, she just lay down on the bed and pulled up the covers. She thought to herself, 'What the hell does he want from me? He is trying to persuade me into going back to him, with the kids. But that's impossible!"

He grabbed her hand, trying to pull her up. "Theresa, don't sleep yet. I haven't finished."

She still closed her eyes. "I don't think there's anything left for us to discuss, Charlie. In my eyes, you're someone who uses others' feelings to achieve a goal, and I don't like that kind of person. Have you ever loved anyone? I guess not. Feelings, or love, are just a tool to you. But in fact, it won't work on me."

He asked, "Why?"

"Because I don't love you anymore. Your words just sound ridiculous to me."

He felt a sharp pain in his heart as if her words had turned into a sword that just pierced his body. Staring at her, he murmured, "I never thought that's how you see me."
