Married My Ex-husband’s Uncle Chapter 4
Chapter 4 A Rare Find
Matthias, a proud man, couldn’t bring himself to act clingy. “You’d better hope I don’t find that man. Otherwise, I’ll make sure he regrets ever touching you.” After saying that, he left in a huff. Surprisingly, not a single word about the project was mentioned. Once he had left, Sienna went to her mother, complaining of hunger. Having been in a similar situation before, Melanie naturally knew what the love bite on her daughter’s n*eck meant. “Enna, do you have a boyfriend?” “Boyfriend? I wouldn’t say so.” Sienna didn’t want her mother to worry about her personal affairs, so she responded evasively, “Mom, don’t worry about me. I know what I’m doing, and I’ve never been as clear-headed as I am now.” Nonetheless, Melanie still felt some regret. “So, there’s no turning back for you and Matthias? From what I saw earlier, it seems like he still cares about you quite a bit.” Gloria, who had been silent the entire time, let out a snort. “Why turn back? With plenty of fish in the sea, why insist on settling for him? You did the right thing, Enna. The women of the Ainsworth family know when to move on. I support you.” Sienna hugged her grandmother and gave her a k*ss. “Thank you for your wise words, Grandma.” Meanwhile, Zavier hurriedly opened the car door when he saw Matthias storm out of the Ainsworth residence. As Matthias bent over to climb into the car, he instructed, “Find all the men who have been close to Sienna. Now!” Zavier was surprised. Didn’t he go to discuss the project with Ms. Ainsworth? Who are these men he’s talking about? However, seeing how Matthias was seething with anger, he dared not ask any questions and hastily acknowledged. The car had just started when there came a phone call from Loretta. “Matthias, did Sienna agree to help?” Only then did Matthias come to his senses and realize he had been too preoccupied with his anger and forgotten to discuss the important matter at hand. After having lunch with her grandmother and mother, Sienna changed into a fresh set of clothes and went to the office. She had a video conference that afternoon as there had been some issues with one of the investment companies under Ainsworth Group. Finding it tiresome as she listened to the others argue with each other, she crossed her arms and said, “Since all of you can’t even solve this minor issue, it seems you’re not fit to remain at Ainsworth Group. If you resign voluntarily, you’ll receive the penalty fee for breach of contract plus half a year’s salary.” Everyone in the video conference was stunned. In less than two hours, a brand new proposal was ready. Once the meeting ended, Jess Zimmerman, Sienna’s executive assistant, entered the room with some documents. “Ms. Ainsworth, this is the contract for Project Capston. Please have a look. Also, those in charge of Project Skyward wish to meet you and hope you could spare them ten minutes.” Project Skyward was the project Matthias had taken away and given to Loretta. “I’m busy. Tell them we’re not obliged to take responsibility if it’s not our problem, nor should we worry needlessly for others. If Project Skyward has lost money in Loretta’s hands, I have plenty of ways to get it back from Matthias. But if there was a problem on our end, then they can pack their things and leave.” Jess had worked with Sienna for over a year and knew very well that she stood by her word when it came to work matters. She may be a young lady of no more than twenty-five years old, but one shouldn’t be fooled by her appearance. Her business acumen is just as good as any man’s, if not better. In fact, she’s even more decisive and efficient than men at times. Working at Ainsworth Group is stressful, but the remuneration is widely recognized as one of the best in the industry. There are no issues there. Making no comment, Jess relayed the message verbatim. Then, Kaylee walked in. “Ms. Ainsworth, Kayden has completed his health checkup. Should we send him to the Regalia Mansion or…” “So soon?” Sienna was somewhat surprised. Kaylee couldn’t help but think that there would have been no delay. Everyone at Fantasia Club was green with envy when they heard she’s going to be Kayden’s sugar mommy. Wealthy ladies are a common sight, but it’s rare to find a wealthy lady who is young, beautiful, and rich. Everyone knew that Sienna had just divorced. If she happened to take a liking to Kayden, he would have more money than he could spend in his lifetime, perhaps even in his next life. Regalia Mansion was where Sienna lived, and she didn’t like bringing outsiders there. Hence, she instructed, “Let him stay in the small mansion at Emerald Abode.” “Understood,” Kaylee replied. After that, Sienna forgot all about the matter as she was simply too busy. That night, she had to fly south on short notice and didn’t return until three days later. While taking a bath, the sight of her bare n*eck suddenly reminded her of Kayden, and she promptly made her way to Emerald Abode. It was dusk when she arrived. As soon as she went in, she saw a tall, slender young man in a white shirt watering the flowers in the yard. He had a watering can in his hand and bent slightly at the waist. His figure appeared somewhat thin, and his wrists were not much thicker than her own. She narrowed her eyes slightly. With that physique, could he have really… lifted me? His back doesn’t look as broad as the other day. Could it be that he appears slimmer when dressed but is actually muscular under his clothes?
