Chapter 14, Exposure to the supernatural

A few days after their adventure to the library Tim and Danny were in PE class sitting on the sidelines while they watched they’re other classmates exercise and extend themselves.

“So, what you thinking we do after school today? catch a nice sundae from wendy’s? maybe we hit the arcade?” Danny said as he messed with the laces to his shorts.

“Actually, I was thinking we could check out the woods today, those photos you showed me a while back have been going through my head recently and I think its time we check em out.” Tim said as he got off his phone.

“Duuude, come on. We’ve going back and forth with all this magic nonsense all day. I haven’t seen dick in terms of this magic stuff.” Danny said to which Tim rolled his eyes.

“I’ just saying, I was invested before, but now I’m starting to get a bit drained. I’ve missed four raids on my favorite MMO cause of this stuff. You lucky your my best friend.” Danny said

“I’m your only friend.” Tim said

“Ouch, and now I’m bleeding all over the place. Blood and all. Ok wise guy, but when we got there and don’t find squat don’t come whining to me.” Danny said, that’s when the two would see coach yelling at Jasper across the court. She wasn’t moving an inch and seemed more inclined to lie down dead then have anything to do with physical fitness.

“That girl is a million roads to weird. Reminds me of a witch from my MMO.” Danny said with Tim once again rolling his eyes.

“Yea, she is a bit...off.” Tim said as he got on his phone. Next thing he knew school was over and him and Danny were off into the woods behind an old trail near the library they visited a few days back.

“DUDE! We’ve been going through these woods for damn near two hours. Can I take a quick piss or something?” Danny asked, Tim looked up from the book Danny had found before with the photo and looked around and saw no landmarks similar to it. He then closed it and turned to see Danny taking a piss regardless of what he said.

“...Dang it. I was hoping we would have found something by now. Maybe this truly is pointless...why would such things be here in the open.” Tim said scratching his head as he looked back to see Danny on his phone.

“Come on man, lets keep going I’m sure we’ll find something.” Tim said as he and Danny continued to walk through the woods. As the day got closer to night, the two eventually got tired and leaned against a random tree with Danny had officially run out of battery on his phone.

“Damnit man! This whole day has been a bust. We looked everywhere and nothing! I could have been home doing anything else! But instead, we went out here and didn’t find DICK!” Danny shouted, Tim just ignored him unsatisfied with the results of their venture too. Danny then went around flailing his and then took a kick at clump of leaves only for it give off a loud clang. Like hitting steel.

“MOTHER FU-” Danny fell over as he grabbed as his foot, Tim ran over and then uncovered the clump of leaves only to see the hilt of a sword sticking out.

“No way.” Tim said as he then tried to pull it out, but it wouldn’t budge.

“Argh...what did you find? did you smash it for fucking up my foot?” Danny said as he walked over and looked at the buried sword.

“Dang! It’s like its embedded into the ground! Like as if it was forced down.” Tim said, Danny looked at it with awe, his mind beginning to open up as the sheet uncovered itself from him. He then grabbed another side of the hilt and positioned himself carefully. He and Tim then both lifted it up together. With their combined effort they both lifted it out of the ground only to see the mighty blade, it was a great sword engraved with strange mystical symbols.

"Woah dude, wicked score." Danny said as they both set it down. That would be when suddenly a large light would come from the sky behind them. Tim turned around and then looked up.

"What is that? A search copter?" Danny asked

"No...no its not." Tim said as he looked up to the moon and saw the light was coming from nonother than the Moon. Danny's face was painted with shock as the two saw a squirl go into the light only to be turned to stone.

"HOLY SHIT!" the two boys shouted as they then ran off, however Tim than remembered the sword and grabbed it with him as they began to run away as the light followed after them.

"DUDE WHAT THE HELL IS GOING ON?!" Danny screamed

"Just keep running!" Tim shouted as the two kept running, however that's when Danny and Tim would notice strange symbols marked on trees, as they continued running only to miss a slope and for them to go tumbling down a hill. Tim landing on his back and the sword next to him and Danny falling on his face, he looked up and saw as the light of the moon stopped at the top of the hill and then disappeared completely.

"Looks like...we lost it." Tim said exhausted as he got up.

"Uh dude" Danny said as he looked forward.

"Pity though, all we got is this damn sword, I can't even read whats on this thing. Never seen these symbols before." Tim said ignoring Danny.

"Dude." Danny said a bit louder.

"To be honest I was hoping for something a bit more-"

"TIM!" Danny shouted, as Tim turned around and would see a large circle of lit candles along with a human skull in the middle of it. Both of them looked at each other and walked towards the scene.

"Woah...this is some weird like witchy craft stuff." Danny said as he walked into and looked down at the skull.

"Witchy stuff? Come on dude, your not eight." Tim said as he put the sword against a tree and walked over. They looked around at the positions of the candles and the skull in the middle which a strange rune engraved into it.

"Dude this shit is freaky! Like is this stuff real? is that a real skull?" Danny asked as he kneeled to it to get a better look.

"I- I don't know, but this is big...then again though. It could just be weirdos I guess." Tim said as he then got his phone out to take a picture of the scene.

"Oh its very real." said a voice behind them causing the two boys to scream, they then turned around only to see they're classmate, Jasper.

"Jasper?" Tim said confused.

"The hell!? it was the goth?" Danny said.

"Its more of a Victorian aesthetic. Though I doubt a meat head like yourself would get that." Jasper said as she walked over with a bucket.

" MEAT HEAD?!" Danny thought to himself as he looked at her annoyed.

" What are you doing out here anyway?" Tim asked

"Summoning the dead." Jasper said as she then dumped a bucket of what looked like blood on the skull.

"Is that real blood?" Danny asked

"Would you like to taste it to see?" Jasper asked with a straight face.

"I'll pass thanks." Danny replied

"What a freak." He thought to himself, Tim then watched as the girl got out her book that he had seen her with earlier in the week.

"Hey, what's that thing about? I saw you with it before." Tim asked

"It's clearly a vampire or weird cult book. Probably talks about...death and uhhh murder." Danny said

"Wow, wonder how hard you thought about that one." she said as she then got out a knife from her pocket.

"WOAH! ARE YOU GOING TO CUT YOURSELF?!" Danny shouted

"Uhhh, No. This is for the skull." Jasper said as she walked over to the skull and then stabbed it. She then put her hands together and began to speak in a weird way, at least to Tim and Danny.

"What are you doing?" Tim asked

"Practicing necromancy." Jasper said

"Wait you mean like...raising the dead?" Tim asked

"No, necromancy is the key to the dead world, the dead world is a place where all dead things lye in a everlasting slumber. The souls there never to be awakened otherwise it would end the life and death cycle." Jasper said, Tim and Danny looked at each other slightly concerned. It seemed the night was going to be long.
