Chapter 12, Diving into the Past

After school Tim and Danny went to visit the library across from the playground near Danny’s home which was located near the central area of Yellowsberg. Once inside they both got themselves some library cards and began exploring.

“So what are we looking for again? I’m having a hard time remembering cause you know, we’re in one of the most boring place on earth.” Danny yawned when a lady groaned at his comment.

“We need to find any knowledge possible about mankind as possible. Maybe even their connection to the Moon.” Tim said as he and Danny then walked over towards the historic section of the library to which the two then set their backpacks down at a nearby table.

“Alright, D I want you to- D!” Tim said as he turned to see Danny playing on his phone to which when he heard Tim say his name he looked up.

“Oh uh sorry bro, What’s the game plan?” Danny said putting his phone down. Tim then explained the plan which was to go and search whatever shelves to find any hints towards the moon and its effect on humanity. Danny while doing it slowly grabbed a book labeled “The magic in the Moon”. Danny sat down and began to unfortunately, read the book...while looking at his phone from time to time.

Tim looked through the books of the library and found...nothing. Every book focused on the basic understandings of humanity with a few things talking about magic. It almost seemed like as if these books were like coverups to what the true nature of humanity was. He then remembered the Sheet and how it is used to coverup all things relating to humanity’s unnatural and more supernatural side and so Tim then focused his mind on trying to uncover this sheet over his eyes, but to no avail as the combined will of humanity was much greater than his. However, he then got the idea that maybe he could look for his grandfather’s books. Once he found them in their respective section, he then sat himself down with a few of his grandfather’s books.

Tim was heavily invested; he had a stack of books with him in one of the isles and as he sat down began to read a book talking about the magic behind humanity and some much darker aspects of it. The book was labeled “The Magical frontier”.

Tim read through the book; it spoke about how long ago before there was any of what the modern world has Wizards were a normal thing. They were known as powerful casters and people who could shape the world into their wants and desires. Wizards were praised for their intellect as they gathered knowledge from other worlds and even greater things than themselves.

The book spoke about how these Wizards even had ranks and whole factions, such as the Magical Order, the magical order was a faction that was at the center of all things magical and all things mystical about the world and so on. They were the source, they were the architects of the world of magic and even had at the head of their faction, the very man who discovered magic itself or better the man who tapped into it. Edmund Shivel. However, this school of learning would not last, as many wanted to posse this magical gift and use it for their own deeds and some for others. So, in this the magical branch was split, split into several branches that even today still last, but only under heavy disguise.

One faction, made to do good for those who could not themselves. The Order of Healing.

Another would see to the very balance of magic itself, a school that dealt with the connection between man and the cosmic forces they got their magic from in the first place. The Order of Tranquility.

The final one the book talked about was a wicked group, one that would use their teachings and all they learned to manipulate man and control them to their very will and even using their magical gifts to kill. This was the school of the Darkest Order.

There was so much that the book also talked on about, about how the wizards were known as gullible to their own power and how they often were easy to succumb to temptation. How mankind even in a time where magic was ripe feared their own and even hid away from the magic they now owned and possessed. How mankind had much more to fear than the simple magician and how at some point eve the dead would rise against them and their polluted minds.

Tim took a deep breath after reading, his mind now open to more than he could have imagined before but was it good for him to be doing this he asked himself. To be getting so deep into a world that to him could only be fictional. Its with that when the sheet began to do to Tim that it had done to so many others who questioned reality in the past. It began to normalize his brain. Draining it of all things paranormal and supernatural. Tim’s eyes then dilated and returned to normal, his doubt no turning him back into another sheep amongst the flock. Tim then looked around and as humanity often does soon began to make sense of what he was doing. However, before he was lost for good would once again see that weird ball of light he had seen at school before fly around the library. Tim’s eyes then were open once again to the true form of reality.

He shook his head and held back a slight migraine. He kept walking towards Danny who was now glued to the book he was reading.

“Get anything good out of that yet?” Tim asked

“DUDE! This...this could be what we’re looking for, take a look at this!” Danny said as he showed Tim some photographic evidence of some old ancient ruins that had engraved images and glyphs and scriptures of the moon in them.

“But thats not the best part, look at the image and where it was taken.” Danny said as he pointed to the bottom of the photo where it said, “taken in Yellowsberg”.

“Woah dude! Wicked! This is really good stuff.” Tim said as he then grabbed the book and the one, he was reading and then brought it to the front desk to check them out.

However while two boys searched around their hometown for ancient secrets, far away across the universe on the home planet of Teseara where conflict was at its highest. Evela was sitting with a few fairies and Yui with the fairy prince Dereus standing in the far back of the room with his arms crossed.

“This is troublesome, do we have any ideas on the location of the ancients now?” Evela asked

“No clue my lady, we searched all over and found nothing. We believe-”

“I KNOW WHERE THEY ARE! Those bastards took them to the black city. Give me the forces I need Queen Evela and I can hunt them down and bring down those monsters for good.” shouted the Monad!Man to which Evela looked at him with a sick look. Like as if the suggestion to save them was so appalling she could throw up.

“Do you honestly believe I would carelessly throw away my good soldiers to save what could be dead scholars? Don’t be a fool. The loss of your city and a lot of it’s people is felt, I promise you. However I will not throw away any more fairy lives just to go on a suicide mission.

I will send fairies to help rebuild your homes and help with collateral damages. However, that is all that I will do.” Evela said as she sat down on her large wooden throne which had overgrowths of flowers and even walnuts growing from them. Yui turned his eyes towards the Monad!Man and when he looked at his lowered face, Yui had never seen a man with such a expression of pain, anguish and sorrow. The Monad!Man then turned on his heels and walked out quickly.

“Brother, your actions while valiant were quick and unauthorized. If I had it my way I could have done something much better.” Evela said as Dereus only stared at her.

“You no longer will be allowed to go into battle, dismissed.” Evela said with a wave of her hand. Dereus scoffed as he stormed off.

“Thank you Yui, thank you for brining my brother back.” Evela said, Yui bowed and then walked out. Evela then covered her face as she now would be looked to in terms of what to do. With the Dark One now being on the move again and having made the first attack it was time to get active again, which she didn’t want. She then shook her head regaining her confidence as she noticed some fairies staring at her in her court. Yui walked outside and went to the courtyard to practice his skills when he saw the Monad!Man with fairies watching him from behind safe lines. He was punching through all of the soldier’s training dummies and wooden poles with anger painted across his face. Yui took off his upper armor and grabbed a nearby sword.

“Hes been beating against them for a couple moments now, will he be well?” asked a fairy.

“If you lost everything you sought to protect and then were denied the means to get back what you believe could be salvaged, I think you too would be...upset.” Yui said as he jumped over the fence and walked towards the man.

“Greetings.” Yui said, but the Monad!Man didn’t even think twice and just ignored him. Yui didn’t bother and went on to practice on his own with a different set of dummies. The two practiced in silence for what felt like hours to both of them until Yui tried to break the silence again.

“I’m sorry for your people...if I could, I would gladly join you in your vengeful raid of the black city.” Yui said, but the Monad!Man didn’t stop for a second and just kept training. He then stopped and breathed a few quick breathes before looking over to Yui.

“Keep your words, wasp.” Monad!Man said as he started off and left the training grounds. Yui didn’t flinch at the racial slur and just watched the man walk away. Yui looked back and then looked down at his sword arm and saw it shaking as he knew he had no guts to do such a thing with him. To storm the black city...

is to throw away your desire to live at all. That however would be when an apple would get thrown at the commander’s head, he turned around quickly to see who it was and saw prince Dereus sitting on the fence with a few slim and curved fairies gawking and cheering him. Yui then straightened his posture and got back to practicing. That would be when other fairy soldiers ran onto the training grounds.

“So, looks like the commander hasn’t only lost his touch in command, but now with men. Tch what a disgrace.” said Dereus as he bit into one of his apples.

“Come on sir, no need to pay attention to that kind of behavior.” said one of the soldiers.

“Yea lets head inside; the rest of the boys got together a nice plate of food for you.” said another soldier.

“Hey don’t you think your being a bit rude D? He did save your life.” said one of the fairies when Dereus then pinched the fairy’s wings and brought them to his face.

“Listen here runt! I wasn’t saved by anyone, UNDERSTAND! All that man did was get in my way.” Dereus said only for him to get hit in the head with an apple so hard it shattered against his skull and caused him to fall off the fence letting go of the fairy. Everyone collectively gasped as Dereus then got up rubbing the spot and looked at a blank faced Yui.

“Why you son of-”

“Don’t ever pinch the wings of another fairy again, I also don’t want to hear such words coming from a grounded prince.” said Yui. Thats when Dereus had it and vaulted over the fence and got out one of his swords. Evela walking through one of the halls in her castle looked down into the training grounds to see what the commotion was about.

“FACE ME! We can be grounded together.” Dereus shouted. The other soldiers then looked to Yui as now other fairies were starting to notice, even some which had stopped picking berries and fruits looked over to see the commotion. Yui just stood tall and then lifted his sword, he pointed it at the prince...and then threw it on the ground. Dereus’s face was one of shock and frustration as he looked towards Yui who still had a face of indifference.

"No, one who would dare strike his own should have no place fighting for them." Yui then turned away and walked past his men. They looked at the prince before following their commander. Dereus in rage stabbed at the ground, him still frustrated. Not only at Yui...but himself as well. Evela then stepped away from the window.

"My lady" said a fairy

"What is it?" Evela asked

"One of the guardians of the Tower of Hurazu, Gambur. He comes bearing news." said the fairy much to Evela's surprise.
