Chapter Chapter FOURTEEN
I couldn't sleep before the trip. My stomach was curled up in an excited and nervous ball, both lusting after my vengeance, and terrified of what may come, and I was completely alone with this, as before. I could hardly close my eyes, as I tried to calm my nerves. It was already late, but my mind refused to even get sleepy.
Getting out of my bed after a few angry turns, I grabbed my jumper from my nightstand where I had very elegantly thrown it before I went to sleep, and I dug around in the dark, finding my small drawing tablet. I usually didn't use it, I preferred traditional art, but since right now it was dark and I didn't want to turn on the light, I had to do with that. Successfully collecting the pen as well, I silently opened my bedroom door and sneaked out into the living room. Until then I wasn't sure what I was going to be drawing, but this question was soon answered by the sight of the sleeping demon, lit by the strong moonlight that invaded the apartment at night. I stared in awe since I have never really seen him before like this. Peaceful and almost soft, his strong, wicked features now relaxed, making him appear much younger, almost boyish.
I quietly went around the couch and sat down from across him in one of the armchairs, almost holding my breath, afraid I'd wake him and lose the sight. It was a paradox, how human, yet how other-worldly he looked in this dream-like lighting. My hands moved by their own, sketching his features roughly, almost without taking my eyes off him. As his distinct features bathed in the moonlight, I could hardly think of anything that would be more gorgeous than Jude was. Sure, all the demons I have met so far was handsome, but nothing compared to him, this twisted beauty I could just not grasp.
I spent the night that way. I was drawing him, sitting perfectly unmoving, and silent, the only noise made by the contact of my pen and the tablet, but that, fortunately, wasn't enough for him to wake. I was finished before the sun came up, and though I was exhausted from the lack of sleep, my soul was less disturbed. I guess I missed art... didn't have much time or desire to pour myself into any piece for a long time. As I walked back into my room, I checked my clock. It was 5 am, the sun will soon come up. Was not worth, trying to sleep, but I still collapsed on the mattress and closed my eyes, without having any strength to do otherwise.

The sun and the soft scent of toast woke me up. Suspecting Jude was cooking, my mouth watered, alerting me that I was in dying need of some food. I felt extremely sleep deprived, but I still crawled out of bed and targeted the kitchen as my focus.
As I got nearer, I found Jude's muscular back. He was facing the counter, and as I suspected - making toast. The magic was gone, and the strange effect of the moonlight also left those mesmerizing features, leaving the demon I knew well in their place.
"Good morning. Coffee?" I was caught off-guard by his voice, so I just nodded absently, and sat down at the table. He cooked a lot for me, and I started to suspect it was like a hobby for him, that he tried to keep a secret, just to remain mysterious. But I didn't even have to ask him, he just did it whenever he had time.
"My dear, you look slightly more dead every day" Jude commented when he turned to me and acknowledged my exhausted joke of a face.
"What can I say, I just really felt at home in hell, though I would speed the process up" I replied sarcastically, which he clicked his tongue to as if to say, it wasn't that bad. Well sure as hell it wasn't that bad for HIM.
He walked up to me, coffee in hand and placed it just before me, grasping the back of my chair with his free hand.
"I hope we'll soon find a way to calm your dreams... this is getting out of hand." he accompanied his words with a gentle pat on my head. I shivered at this sudden affectionate touch, but didn't say anything, just grabbed my coffee. "Once that bastard drops dead, I'll be fine and dandy." he didn't seem to agree with me, but regardless, he sat down and presented the breakfast.
We had our meal silently. I knew we must get going soon, not like we had an appointment to get to, but I did not want to waste time. I knew we weren't going on a field trip, but still, leaving this environment will maybe help me out. Jude got us a fancy room in an even fancier hotel, and even if it sounds materialistic, I was a little excited. I spent most of my life within poor circumstances, so it was always a big deal for me, when things like that happen, even if it was overshadowed by our real intentions.
I wanted to go by train, but Jude insisted we rent a car, so it was quickly decided. As we packed our stuff into the car, I threw myself down on the passenger seat.
"I was wondering... The bond between us. Is it because of our deal, or because of that... Match thing?" my words found their way out of my mouth without my knowledge, and before I could do anything about it, I already spoke. Jude glanced at me while driving.
"The bond between two, when a deal is made, is mainly felt on the demon's part, insuring he goes through with his promise. What you feel is not our deal... Though I have never heard of a human match before, I don't know what exactly you feel." his answer prompted another question in me immediately.
"Well, what do you feel?" I wasn't sure I wanted to hear it, but then again, this was a rare time, when Jude answered my questions, so why not go with it.
"A sense of possession... I guess." vague, but not surprising. He does act like a jealous puppy around me... but I guess he wouldn't fancy that analogy.
The rest of the trip was silent, as we drove for almost 4 hours since we took a stop to get lunch. Jude said it's important that I eat enough, and he encouraged me to sleep on the way, so I attempted, but I find it hard to sleep in a car. Even so, by the time we got there, Jude had to wake me, so I assume I fell into slumber, even if it didn't do that much good. He gently caressed my face to get me to my senses, as my eyes flickered open, only to find those deep red ones staring back at
me.
"I'll carry our stuff up, let me get things over with at the reception." He said, keeping his voice hushed, and I nodded still a little bit dizzily. I got out of the car, shivering from the sudden coldness of the air, as Jude got inside first with all our cases and packs. I wasn't hurrying to get inside, I looked around a little bit, entertaining the thought that my vengeance will take place here, in this very city. Well... one of them at least. I followed Jude soon into a fancy and surprisingly tall building, as he already grabbed our keys and motioned for me to come into the lift.
I always kept a big distance between us, but not because I was uncomfortable, I just already learned a thing or two about our little bond, by my own experiences. His smell was a critical hit on my common sense, and resistance, so it was best to be avoided, as well as other forms of closeness.
I wasn't sure why was I so opposed to sleeping with him, other than of course his dominance, and sadism... I kind of saw this as the only power I had above him, as it was evident that I could mostly get anything if I asked it right, and so it was important for me to be cold most of the times, so I could weaponize his needs.
As we got up to the room, I attempted to hide the intense happiness that came over me. The room was huge, with a big-ass balcony, and a king-sized bed, with elegant, dark blue covers and pillows for days.
"I ordered your favourite Rosé; the room service will be up soon... Why don't you take a bath or something? I planned this day only for us to settle in here, so it'll be fine." I heard the smooth baritone melody in my ears, and my excitement couldn't be hidden anymore. It was all so fancy, and I rarely ever got to even see these types of things.
"It's early afternoon, and you already want me to drink?" I questioned with a light smile, glancing back at the demon. His distinct features, and dark eyes now kind of sparkled with admiration, as he was observing my reactions, which caught me off-guard.
"Why are you looking at me like that?" I cut in before he could've answered my previous question. I studied his face, as he studied mine with a widening smile.

"Like what?"
"You know what I mean... This... loving expression. Why are you making it?" I narrowed my eyes, as he slowly put the cases down from his hand, and turned his full, and intimidatingly tall body to me.
"Because you look adorable, and I rarely see you get excited over things... Almost makes me want to spoil you, knowing you'd make that expression" before I could've stepped away, he put his hand on my face, caressing my skin with his thumb. I blushed a little, breaking our eye contact. What's gotten into him?
"I... It's rare I can enjoy stuff like that..." I mumbled as an explanation since he didn't let go of me. The warmth of his palm inviting me in, encouraging me to get closer to his relaxing and intoxicating presence, but I didn't move out of stubbornness.
"There is no harm in enjoying it then, is there?" he coaxed. I didn't get it, even with innocent things like that, when he urged and supported me doing something, I had a feeling that I was about to make a bad decision... But there was really no harm in this, was there? It just might be his nature, to make every one of his offers sound like he would be offering me a bite of the forbidden fruit.
"I suppose" I cleared my throat, hoping to mask that I agreed with him for the first time in my life. My gaze found him, and he gave me a satisfied and mischievous grin, brushing his index finger down my jawline.
"Go then, enjoy your bubble-bath. I'll bring your wine in later" As he let go of me, I nodded, and looked around, soon finding the entrance of the above-mentioned room. Unbuttoning my shirt in a hurry, I made my way there, only to find a luxurious and hugs bathtub, with a series of different scents and shampoos dedicated just for my use. Two clean towels awaited on the counter, one of them crimson and the other dark blue like the sheets were.
The mirror grinned back at me, showing me a man I could hardly recognize as myself. His face felt unfamiliar, but he didn't scare me anymore. I knew, at his core, nothing changed. I just became what I was meant to be. Stronger. I slipped out of my clothes throwing them on the ground, examining the deep bite mark on the pit of my neck, brushing my finger through the still painful bruise.
As the tub filled up behind me, I turned my gaze away from myself, deciding upon what scent I want to wear for the next few hours. After all, I went with "spring flowers" and sunk into the warm water, letting it hit my chin as I completely disappeared in the bubbles. My exhausted nerves finally relaxing, feeling dizzier than before from the need to fall unconscious, yet I was unable to do so just yet.
Not much time passed until the door opened, and so I glanced towards the door, seeing Jude with two glasses. The rose-coloured liquid half-full in the wineglass, glistening like gold.
I sat up a little, resting my forearm on the side of the tub, not bothered by the demon's presence, all the parts that were better unseen were covered by the bubbles and water.
"Is it good?" he questioned with an unreadable expression as he offered me my glass. I took it cautiously and gently knocked it to his.

"Cheers. Yes, it's good." nodding, I lifted the wine to my lips, tasting it. I wasn't that well-educated when it came to wine, but this was indeed my favourite as far as I have tasted them before. I hardly drank anything good before Jude came into my life.
He sat down at the edge of the tub, shipping on his own drink, but eyes settled on me with their usual intensity. He first scanned my face then his curious gaze wandered down to his bitemark, and my collarbone.
I smiled to myself, pulling my knee up, so my legs would be exposed for him above water, and I accompanied the little act with a sinister smile, as I continued to enjoy my drink.
"Tease" he growled under his nose with an entertained smile, while finding his sharp teeth with his tongue. Though I was merely being a dick to him, I can't deny I enjoyed playing with him like this. I loved every minute of his restrained but animalistic gaze sat on me, undressing and or fucking me with his eyes in any given moment.
"I love the taste... the last time I had this wine, I had to lick it off of you, if I recall correctly." I continued with a cunning smile, tilting my head to the side.
"Tasted better like that, didn't it?" he raised an eyebrow, leaning a little bit back. The tub was placed in a way that at the sides the walls were framing it, so Jude could easily lean against the white tiles.
I wasn't sure anymore which of us was messing with the other, but that is a perfect description of our partnership... at any given moment, it was impossible to tell which of us was losing to whom.
"I admire your courage you know... Most people I know are not able to resist their bond with their match, especially early on... As Lucifer said, you are indeed remarkable."
"You think you'll get anywhere with compliments?" I chuckled lightly, though his words did get to me more than I showed. I knew they were somewhat honest, even if he used them to get something from me.
"If I'd want to get somewhere..." he began, standing from his place and he slowly walked to my side of the tub, bending down to be closer to my eye-level, as his finger brushed along his bitemark then up my throat, caressing it gently, yet his claws threatened to cut my skin and a pleasant shiver ran down my spine "I'd get there" he finished in a hushed town "The only reason I'm not having you, is because I much rather watch you destroy yourself over denying me... not because you would not let me... There are things that overpower even your will, my darling..." he leaned to my ears, keeping his voice low and seductive, as I unwantedly pushed my head closer to his hand, wanting to feel his fingers on my skin more. I hated when people called me these pet names, but when Jude said "darling" it sounded like the most endearing thing I have ever heard in my life.
His hand reached my chin, and he gently brushed his thumb over my lower lip, which I obediently opened my mouth to, taking his finger between my lips. His eyes darkened again with desire, and so did mine, but as I regained my senses, realizing what I was doing, spite filled my heart again, and I suddenly bit down his thumb as hard as I could until I felt the irony taste in my mouth. He hissed and pulled away from me.
"You little brat" I didn't listen to his scolding, as he licked the blood off his finger, looking more erotic than he should've been "Jokes on you though dartling, I'm into this" he grinned, catching me a little off-guard, but I didn't even blink before I replied, licking the remaining taste of his blood off my lower lip:
"Jokes on you... So am I."
