Madilynne

Chapter Omen

Madilynne’s P.O.V

Every cell and ache screamed with the threat of death as pushed myself further and further. Fight damnit! Coughing I tried to stand, falling to the ground instantly as Miles grew closer to Kade.

Pushing the fear aside I searched inside of myself for anything. Pain being the most dominant feeling.

The pain was overriding all of my senses, making everything shut down.

Pain.

The word kept chanting through my head.

‘Use it.’ Willows tired voice whispered out.

‘You are not alone my child.’ Another voice whispered, chills erupting over my body.

Looking up, It was as if a veil had fallen over my eyes. I could see hundreds of white wolves beside me. Each face showed strength and pain. And then it clicked, I’m not alone.

“You’re wrong Miles. I am not weak.” Gripping the dirt between my hands and pulling myself to my knees.

“I AM AN ALPHA. BLESSED BY THE MOON GODDESS HERSELF.” My commands came out as I stood. I could feel a rush of power as hundreds of voices filled my head.

‘We are the blessed wolves’ The voices spoke in unison, forming into one disembodied voice.

The power coursed through my veins, it felt as if lightning was flowing through me.

Focusing on Miles, I poured all the years of heartache, loss, and death that every wolf has felt, bringing him to his knees as he cried out.

“THIS ENDS NOW MILES.” My voice was unrecognizable as I floated closer to the monster in front of me.

Flashes of my own past flickered before me. Every moment, strengthening the hold I had on him. Every death fueling my rage.

Reaching out I gripped his neck in my bare hands. “SO MANY LIVES HAVE BEEN RIPPED VIOLENTLY FROM THIS WORLD BECAUSE OF YOU. NOW YOU PAY WITH YOURS.”

Shifting into my wolf, I towered over Miles. Growling with teeth exposed, I lunged for his neck. Following through on my intentions.

Blood pooled into my mouth as his helpless screams haunted the woods around us. I clenched harder, his struggles lessening as his life force was ripped from his body.

Dropping the body from my hold, I shifted back. The power dissipating as I turned to Kade.

His breaths were shallow and weak. “I’m so sorry Kade I should have waited.” I whispered as the tears started to cloud my vision.

Running my hands along his wounds, I watched as the healing began to take over.

Kole and Mason came to my side as I clutched to Kade. “God’s is he going to be okay?” Mason asked. “Yeah he’s healing, let’s get him home.”

The drive home felt like hours, the entire time I never took my eyes off of Kade. I watched his chest rise and fall with every breath, as I held onto his hand.

The moment his eyes opened, I could see a brief flash of panic cross his features “Hey I’m right here, we’re going home.” I said as I cupped his face. Reassuring him I was by his side.

Looking into those insanely beautiful green eyes of his “I love you Kade.” I whispered, the truth from my heart.

1 month later.

Stepping onto the curb of the campus, it finally hit me that I was really doing this. A sea of people moved past me on the sidewalk. The big brick building stood tall and ominous, waiting for its inhabitants.

One day I’d make a difference through all the packs, I just need to graduate first.

My plan is to open up a private agency to help wolves across the state, Find the missing, save the ones being abused, Protect the innocent, and save lives. I was doing this for the ones I couldn’t save.

I finally fought Kole and won. In just a short time now I would be Alpha of the Crescent Pack, that thought still scared me a little. Everyone says I’m ready to take over, but there is still so much I don’t know about the shifter world.

Kade and I finally got that date at a quaint Diner, Shelly really does make the best apple pies. The thought brought a smile to my face.

“What’s got you smiling like that beautiful?” Kade asked as his arms wrapped me into his chest. A light sigh left my lips “Apple pie.”

I could feel Kade chuckle lightly, the vibrations traveling through my own chest. “Well, good thing I checked the place out beforehand because right down the street is a Shoppe and they make Apple pies too.”

“Ugh, I love this place already.” The moan left my lips, I could feel my mouth beginning to salivate.

“Time for orientation, love. I’ll see you later.” Kade pressed a hungry kiss to my lips, the sparks tingling at the mere contact, making my toes curl with delight.

Pushing my way through the crowd, I couldn’t help but be happy. I never would have thought I’d be back home, and a shifter. My biggest blessing is Kade, at every turn he’s always been there for me. Encouraging and supportive. Of course, I’m thankful for the Guys at Dark moon too. Kole and Mason are like brothers to me, annoying and overbearing.

I’m ready for this new chapter in my life, to see where things will take Kade and I. After losing it all, I finally found a home and a purpose.

Closing my eyes, I took in a soothing breath before I opened the doors to my future.

Standing in the Forrest, paws thudded around me like thunder. An earth shaking howl erupted, a howl of war.

The howl snapped me out of the vision as I grasped the wall for support from its sudden intrusion. Shit, I have to call Kole!

END.
