Chapter 241
Chapter 241 Missing
Anastasia then took a moment to think, "Zachary certainly knows how to negotiate.
I bet his second offer is likely what he's really after.
He's asking for quite a bit, given that Jongvale Company isn't worth that much now.
But if we can keep all the patents and technology, it could save us a lot of trouble down the line.
The price might be something we can work with."
Anastasia smiled and said, "We'll need to discuss the specifics first."
In other words, she was open to his terms but only if he would agree to her terms as well.
Zachary grinned and raised his glass, saying, "Here, let's cheers to a successful partnership!"
With a room full of people, Anastasia didn't give it much thought and took a small sip from her glass. The fruity wine was unexpectedly strong, but Anastasia swallowed it anyway.
With a smile, Zachary rose to his feet and asked, "Ms. Graves, since my secretary is here too, shall we go to her room to discuss the details?"
He seemed thrilled that they'd reached some agreement.
He immediately took out his phone in front of Anastasia, dialed his secretary's number to ask for her room, and hurriedly walked out. Anastasia hesitated and stood puzzled for a moment.
She knew Zachary wasn't fond of her, so she wasn't particularly wary of him.
She then considered her options and decided it was an excellent opportunity to finalize the contract details, so she didn't decline.
Anastasia took out her phone and sent a message to Jaxon before following Zachary upstairs. She had heard Zachary's secretary mention that her room was 602. However, she was unaware that her message to Jaxon hadn't been sent.
Anastasia then rode the elevator and headed upstairs.
This floor was mainly guest rooms, cushioned with thick carpets, making it relatively quiet.
Yet, as soon as she stepped out of the elevator, she felt her head grow heavy and foggy.
After walking a few steps, Anastasia realized something was off. She leaned on a nearby railing, hoping the sea breeze would clear her head.
Seconds later, she felt her body begin to heat up. She quickly pulled out her phone, only to discover that her signal was blocked, and she couldn't make any calls. An unsettling thought instantly flashed through Anastasia's mind.
Could it be the drink from Zachary? She wondered nervously.
Realizing something was wrong, Anastasia clenched her fist tightly and was about to turn and walk away when the door across from her suddenly swung open. Zachary then forcefully grabbed Anastasia's arm and yanked her into the room.
"Ah!" Anastasia let out a frightened scream.
Her whole body felt weak, her mind foggy, and she had no strength.
Her efforts to break free were useless.
Zachary dragged her in, slammed her onto the floor, and locked the door behind him.
The pain momentarily cleared Anastasia's head. As she tried to get up, she looked at him and questioned, "Zachary, have you lost your mind?"
There was no secretary in the room at all. She then thought anxiously. Could this be a trap set by Zachary?
This puzzled Anastasia, then she pondered why he would do this.
Zachary looked down at her condescendingly, his warm and outgoing demeanor replaced by an air of dark menace.
He removed his wristwatch with a devilish smirk, no longer maintaining a kind facade.
He then took something from the cabinet next to him. It was a whip.
Anastasia's expression subtly shifted. "Someone will notice I'm missing and come looking for me."
Zachary chuckled lightly, a trace of disdain filling his eyes. He walked to the bed, turned on a camera, then looked back at Anastasia.
"Ms. Graves, it's just your bad luck. Someone was willing to pay a handsome sum for an intimate video of us, and I accepted the offer. The whole partnership thing was a sham. I've already sold the company long ago."
