Lyall's Story

Chapter Epilogue

Lucy

Sure, enough Lyna had the twins first. She named their son Ryker Evan Clell after both the guys in her life. Her daughter Celeste Willow after her mom and me. I felt so honored! A couple of weeks after the twins were born my water breaks while we’re cuddling on the couch.

“That wasn’t what I think it was right, Lucy?” Lyall asks me nervously.

“It was… go get the go bag and let’s get to the hospital.” I mind-link Lyna to tell her it was my time, and she tells me she’s on her way too. I try to walk the best I can to the hospital. Lyall is half-carrying me and the bags but soon Lyna catches up to us and she carries the bags while Lyall bridal carries me to the hospital.

“Doc! Doc!” He’s a lot calmer than I thought.

“I have your room all set for you.” We almost sprinted down the hall and that’s what I was expecting. He puts me on the bed and gets all the machines set up to monitor our son and me.

“Your contractions seem to do well. It’ll be awhile before it’s time to push since you’re only four cm, but that means you’re almost halfway there!” Lyna squeezed my hand in comfort and Lyall had his hand on my shoulder. It took about an hour for me to get to ten cm, and by now the contractions were so close together I was screaming so loud! Damn this hurt so much, and by the time I wanted the painkillers, it was too late.

“Alright Beta on this next one I need you to push!” I hold on to Lyna and Lyall’s forearms to not crush their hands. Soon as the next contraction hit, I pushed as hard as I could until my face turned purple or so I was told by Lyall.

“Great job another push like that! He’s almost out! He’s crowning!” I didn’t know what that meant but I guess that meant he was almost out. Another contraction came, and I pushed again. I pushed so hard apparently my face turned purple, or so Lyall likes to tell me.

“Lucy, I can see his head he’s almost out!” Lyall says through tears of joy! I pushed as hard as I could again before I couldn’t anymore.

“One more push and he’s out!” Another contraction came and I let out another scream as he finally came out!

“And here he is betas!” Doc Bader cleaned off the blood and fluids and placed him on my chest. I had stripped off my hospital gown earlier in the labor because it just felt like it was in the way and I didn’t want it on anymore.

“He’s so beautiful!” I cried happy tears as I stare at this little boy that had captured my heart. Doc Bader had taken him away for a moment to get his measurements and to make sure he was ok. A nurse had checked on me and made sure I didn’t have any complications and luckily, I didn’t.

“So what’s the future beta’s name?” Everyone is so curious about his name. We kept his name a secret this whole time. We spoiled the fact he was a boy and to keep some surprise we didn’t tell his name to anyone.

“Calhoun Marrok Teowulf…” I’m out of breath and tired from the labor, but that is what we finally talked about and we both liked and honored the former alpha. Lyna smiled when we announced his name.

“Thank you…” Soon our family and friends got to see little Cal and made sure I was doing ok. Considering all that’s happened I’m doing alright. My mom brought me some food, and I was starving! I finished that right away! I was on an ice chip diet all day and I was so hungry…

“He’s beautiful Lucy… you did a good job.” My mom is a proud mémé/grandma. I let everyone visit him for a few minutes before visiting hours were done. I was getting tired, but Cal was getting hungry. Lyna helped me feed him for the first time and he seemed to do well. I couldn’t wait to experience all the firsts with him and wonder what his life will be like. I smile at Lyall and kiss his cheek as we both fall asleep. We stayed in the hospital maternity ward for three days before we got the ok to go home and I was so excited to take him to his nursery we had planned. We get into a routine and soon this became our normal life. I couldn’t imagine life without him now… As the months go by Celeste and Cal seem to play together more and more... it makes me wonder if they’re going to be future mates. We’ll see as they get older. I smile at them as they play and I couldn’t be happier with life right now. A loving mate, a beautiful son... a pack to call home. This is life right now... and I wouldn’t change a thing.
