Lyall's Story

Chapter 15 welcomed guests

Lucy

Aurora finally comes back with who I’m presuming is her gamma and his mate. I run up to her and hug her.

“So glad you’re back! Oliver had said you went home, and I was worried that we scared you off.”

“No, no, I went to get help. Lucy, this is my gamma Evan and his mate Mia.” I relax knowing that she’s back, and that she brought help. I shake his hand gently but he’s not stiff at all which is nice. He kisses his mate just to reassure her it’s ok. I could tell she was a little nervous and cold.

“Hi, nice to meet you. Glad the cold doesn’t keep you down.” He smiles at me as he jokes with me. I like him he makes me smile.

“Pleased to meet you I’m Lucy, alpha’s daughter of Lune Noire and beta female for Wild Forest Pack. Welcome to what’s left of Lune Noire pack, but our close alliance pack, Wild Forest Pack will be here soon to offer help as well. In the meantime, I set up a guest room for you two and make yourself comfortable.” I take their bags into the guest room and join the others back in the living room when I hear mom squeal with excitement about more company.

“Oh, more guests! It’s so nice to meet you. I’m Quila, luna of Lune Noire, and mom. Please make yourself comfortable. I’m sure you’re tired from your trip so I’ll make some dinner for everybody and you get to know the family. I’ll get my husband to come out of his office so he can formally greet you.” I hear her run off upstairs to get dad while Evan and Mia get comfortable on the couch. I offer Mia a blanket since I can tell she’s not used to cold. She shyly takes it and mumbles a thank you but stays close to Evan. Soon I hear both my parents in the kitchen trying to figure out a plan on what to do with everything.

“Well, maybe we can send her to Wild Forest… they’re obviously going to look for her here and we have to protect her… we don’t have Ursa anymore so there’s got to be something we can do…” Dad looked so defeated as I was sneaking on them…

“Well Aurora is a powerful wolf… maybe she can offer some help?” That’s actually not a bad idea.

“Yeah, but she’s on vacation I don’t want to bother her even if she is our niece-in-law.”

“Hun, she brought her gamma and his mate from Northern California to help. I don’t think she’s bothered. She seems to care for us even though she hasn’t known us for long.”

“Well, let’s let them get settled before asking them for ideas. Dinner smells great dear.”

“Thanks, I figured since she liked the Mexican dish so much that I’d try to find some more recipes. This time I found a good recipe for fish tacos. Hope they like it.” Mom seems happy to try making Aurora feel at home, and I’m sure she appreciates it too, plus mom hasn’t been able to be a proper luna in a long time because of us so I’m sure it’s nice to host people again. I come out of my hiding spot behind the entrance to the kitchen pretending that I didn’t hear any of what they said.

“Hey mom, need some help with dinner?”

“Oh, it’s fine Lucy, but thank you for asking. Why don’t you ask anyone if they want something warm to drink? I think Aurora’s friend isn’t used to the cold and could use a good hot chocolate.” She smiles and puts on a brave face for me, but I can tell in her eyes she’s worried for me.

“Sure, no problem.” I smile back and make my way back to the living room where a warm fire is going in the chimney.

“I see you two have made yourself comfortable. Does anyone want hot chocolate to warm up?” Evan kisses Mia’s forehead again to help her relax, but she slowly raises her hand for a drink.

“I’d like one, please. I’m not used to the cold so I’ll take anything and everything to warm up.” Poor girl probably hasn’t left her home before. I don’t blame her for being scared. I smile at her trying to show that we’re friendly and no need to be shy, but it’ll probably take a while for her to literally and figuratively warm up to us.

“Sure, I’ll just bring a big tray in so everyone can have some if they want.” I go back to the kitchen and make a crock-pot full of hot chocolate. Once that’s finished, I put the mugs on a tray with some toppings. Some mini marshmallows, some cinnamon, homemade whipped cream, some extra chocolate, even found some Mexican chocolate; mom must’ve gone to the store to get some. I come back with my tray and everyone is excited about it.

“You made this!?” Lyall seemed to have snuck in while I was making it. I knew he was back at Wild Forest for most of the day but so relieved to have him back.

“Yeah, I made some hot chocolate, everyone seemed cold, and I wanted to help.” As I put the tray of goodies down for everyone to enjoy, I smile at him as he walks towards me to wrap his arms around me… with everything going on I think everyone needs some relaxation…

“Thanks, Lucy this is delicious. The Mexican chocolate was a pleasant touch.” Aurora smiled at me as she puts some of the chocolate, whipped cream, and cinnamon on her drink.

“You’re welcome, mom must’ve found some at the store. Oh, and for dinner, mom is making fish tacos.”

“Oh, yummy. Thank you again for trying to make us feel at home, it’s really sweet. All this effort to try and make us comfortable.” Aurora smiled and drank her hot chocolate happily.

“You’re welcome, anything for family.” We all hear that dinner is ready from the kitchen. We all grab our drinks and I grab the tray of extra toppings and bring it to the dining room. Mom brings out the soft tacos and toppings and everyone digs in. Everything is going great, but Evan pips up with a question that I think everyone had but was too afraid to speak.

“So, what are we going to do about this creepy French alpha that wants to take Lucy as his bride, when you already have a mate?” He’s not wrong, but the way he said it made me and the rest of the table laugh.

“Thanks for the laugh. I needed that, but he has a point what are we going to do?” After everything with that ‘creepy alpha’, I needed something to relieve the stress. Dad looked like he was about to say something, but Aurora beat him to it.

“I know this might make some people mad but-” She glares at Oliver who already seems to know what she’s going to say and nods his head no. “I’d like to help train the ladies of the house, maybe have Lyna and Aunt Quila help me.”

“Oh, Aurora as much as I’d love to help, I’m more of a lover than a fighter.” That’s definitely true mom would rather serve a feast to people than be in a workout punching something.

“Fine, just Lyna… or maybe Lyall and Evan?”

“Of course, Luna.” Evan piped up that’s kind of surprising he’s usually not so formal but I’ve only known him for the past hours, but Oliver doesn’t seem surprised. Lyall seems torn about it, and I’ll talk to him later.

“Aurora, you know I don’t like you training!” Oliver seems pissed, but I don’t understand why when she’s so powerful.

“Yeah, and without your help being under a mind-control spell I could use my training that I learned to help end a war!” Dang… I like her! I quietly text Lyna about this training session idea.

Me: Hey, so long story short, I might be possibly abducted and Aurora wants to help train she-wolves.

Lyna: What!? We’ll be on our way! Yes, I want to help you!

Well, that took little convincing… I hear Evan excused himself with Mia and they’re bickering about it. I get so distracted by all this that I didn’t notice Lyall’s arms around me.

“Oh Lyall, you startled me. What’s on your mind?” I knew something was I could feel it.

“On the one hand, yes I’m all for it. You’re going to be my beta female, you need to be strong to help protect the pack, Conall and Lyna. That’s what we do… but on the other hand I don’t want to see you in danger and that urge to protect you becomes overwhelming. So, I can understand why Oliver is upset…” Oh, Lyall… always so sweet… my moment was interrupted when Lyna comes in charging at me.

“What’s going on!? What’s this possibility of being abducted!?” Yikes, I could feel the anger on her…

“Before dinner, some creepy French alpha, still don’t know who he is-”

“I can fill in that part…” Dad comes into our conversation and I’m shocked.

“Care to share!?” I cross my arms over my chest as I ask him angrily and annoyed.

“I’m pretty sure that was the alpha’s son… his name is Vincent. Your uncle David had told me about the arrangement and I was furious. All he cared about was keeping the prestige of the alpha line, but I didn’t… I wanted you to find your true mate so I said no, and you know the rest.”

“I don’t!” Lyna piped up. Conall trying his hardest to calm her down but nothing seemed to help.

“The three of us can talk in my office…” They head off to have the chat we already had. This was going to be an interesting few days ahead of me… hopefully, I can get in some training before this psycho comes… I go back to the dining room to at least have some of mom’s delicious food. I needed something to calm down too, and just as I was about to have some dinner, I just need to run… clear my head on what to do…

“Sorry, mom…” Just before I leave the table, she grabs my wrist.

“No, go… you need to do what’s best for you. Nobody can make this decision to train or not but you. If you want my opinion, I say yes. I want you to be strong and to fight this jerk who wants to take you away from us. We all love you sweetie if that isn’t clear to you…” I could see her eyes glisten with tears with this pep talk but I hug her to help her calm her nerves.

“Thanks, mom… love you too.” Lyall comes behind me and I make my way outside and shift to Scarlett.
