Love's Perfect Match

Chapter 697 Lower Your Voice

"Callum!" Elspeth subconsciously raised her voice, but she was quickly stopped from speaking.
Callum kissed her softly, swallowing all her words. The familiar soft texture made Elspeth's heart skip a beat. Slowly, she closed
her eyes and deepened the kiss.
After some time, Elspeth opened her eyes and saw Callum looking at her with amusement. "Lower your voice. Damian is
probably sleeping right now," he said in a raspy voice.
Elspeth blushed furiously and punched him in the chest. "Alright now. Since you're not drunk, get out of my house!"
"Kicking me out so soon?" He leaned closer to her and breathed against her ear.
"Watch it, Callum. The kid is still here." She subconsciously looked back, afraid that Damian would awake and see things he
shouldn't.
"Relax. He's sleeping right now." Callum chuckled and carried her bridal style, causing her to wrap her hands around his neck
due to shock.
"Where is the bedroom?"
Elspeth bit her lips and said, "The bedroom is near Damian's room. Let's... Let's go to the guest room."
He glanced at the guest room and smiled as he carried her over.
...
The next morning, Damian rubbed his eyes in disbelief when he saw Callum in the house. "Mommy, why is Uncle Callum here?"
Callum and Elspeth looked at each other and didn't know what to say.
Suddenly, Damian's eyes brightened and he gave them an unexpected answer. "I know! You must have realized I was having

that dream. That's why you asked him to come over, right?"
Elspeth didn't know how to explain the situation, so she nodded dumbly. "Yes."
"Mommy, can Uncle Callum drive me to school today?"
Naturally, Callum was willing to oblige. He glanced at Elspeth and signaled her to say yes.
Seeing that Damian wanted to spend time with Callum, Elspeth couldn't do anything but agree.
Since Callum didn't drive his car because he was drunk last night, Elspeth gave him her car keys.
"I thought your car's tire had a problem."
As soon as he spoke, he knew he had blown his cover. When he turned around, he saw Elspeth smiling coldly while asking,
"What did you say? How did you know that?"
"I guessed it."
"I couldn't start my car and had to ask you to drive us the last time I wanted to send Damian to school. Are you the one behind
this?"
Callum said nothing.
At this moment, staying silent was the best answer.
Immediately, Elspeth slapped him.
...
On the way to school, Damian looked at Callum with a stern expression, unlike his usual innocent self.

"Although Mommy has accepted you as my daddy, that doesn't mean you have won my recognition."
Where did he get this attitude from? Thinking about it, Callum recalled that he had a cold personality since he was young, but
Damian wasn't like that at all. He was sure Damian got his attitude from Elspeth.
"So, if you want to be with Mommy, you must pass the test."
Callum drove slowly and wondered what Damian would ask, even though he knew Damian wouldn't be a threat to him.
"Go on."
"How much is your salary?"
Callum thought momentarily and replied, "I don't have one."
"What?" Damian was shocked when he heard the answer. "How will you sustain the family if you don't have an income? Are you
going to rely on Mommy?" As he spoke, he looked at Callum with disdain.
"That's because I'm the one paying others." Callum stifled a laugh.
At Callum's words, Damian was startled momentarily and blushed. "Why didn't you tell me sooner?"
"Didn't you ask me to answer your question?"
Damian cleared his throat and quickly changed the subject. "Did you see other women behind Mommy's back?"
"I guess I have." Callum nodded.
"What?" Just the thought of Callum cheating made Damian remove the possibility of Callum becoming his father.
"I have to keep in contact with your grandmothers, right?"

Damian was still young and didn't know he was being teased. He actually felt guilty since he thought he had been imagining
things. Yet, feeling guilty and apologizing were two different things.
"If that's the case, I am okay with you being my daddy," Damian said as he turned his head.
Callum was happy, and he asked, "Is that so? Don't you have anything you wish for?"
Damian frowned but said the sweetest thing. "I don't have any wishes other than hoping Mommy can live a happy life." Then, he
stared at Callum seriously and asked, "You'll treat her well, right?"
Callum nodded. Since he couldn't squeeze Damian's cheek, he turned around and winked. "Don't worry."
In that split second, his car crashed into a white car, making a huge noise!
When Elspeth arrived at the hospital, Callum was in the emergency room. On the other hand, Damian only had a few scratches.
He looked shocked as the nurse bandaged him.
Seeing that he was spacing off, Elspeth knew he was terrified. She quickly went to hug him and asked, "Are you okay, Damian?"
"I'm fine, Mommy." Tears brimmed in Damian's eyes as he felt nervous and scared. "I'm fine, Mommy, but Uncle Callum seems
to have been severely injured. Is he going to be alright?"
Before Elspeth could answer, the nurse explained, "The man had protected the child from all harm, so the child is perfectly fine.
However, he..." The nurse didn't finish her words, but judging from her pained expression, Elspeth knew Callum was severely
injured.
Her heart leaped into her throat. "I understand."
After the nurse bandaged Damian, she left the room. Elspeth looked at his injuries and said softly, "Does it still hurt, Damian?"
She gently caressed his face.
"No." Damian shook his head, looking guilty. "It's all my fault, Mommy. Uncle Callum got hurt because of me."
