Chapter 12
Chapter 12: A Little Warmth
She turned around and walked in the direction of Boston High School. From a distance, she saw that the spaghetti store she used to go to frequently was still open, but it was not as lively as usual, with three or two customers sitting sparsely. This aghetti shop was not far from Boston High School. After self-study in the evening, a large group of students came to have a lively supper. The boss and the boss lady were very nice and can remember each student’s preferences.
Serena liked to drink soup and eat vegetables, but didn’t like to eat vermicelli. The boss put in a lot of vegetables every time, and only a few vermicelli were used for decoration.
Jenny liked to eat spicy food, but because it was a late-night snack, the boss always persuaded her to eat lighter meals at night. Even if Jenny was dissatisfied, the boss insisted on putting less chilli on her.
Nate was a big boy with an amazing appetite. Every time Jenny couldn’t finish eating, he didn’t blame her for it and poured it all into his own bowl. He even drank the soup.
Penn, was he there? Serena suddenly remembered at this time that Penn would go out with them every night for supper for a while, but he didn’t eat and just sat there quietly waiting for Nate.
Once Nate said, “what will you do if you don’t eat?
Penn said, “I will wait for you.”
Nate smiled sarcastically: Why are you waiting for me? Our family are not the same, and I’m sure you have ulterior motives.
At that time, Serena still thought they had such a good relationship, and it would be good if they could get along for a while longer.
It was probably because Penn was very qt at that time, and he didn’t eat late-night snacks, so Serena hardly remembered that he had participated in it, but now standing opposite the door of Spaghetti’s store, it seems that there was his shadow back then.
When the boss saw a guest coming, he asked with a smile on his face, what do you want to eat?
“Spaghetti.” She replied, and successfully found the seat by the window where she used to sit.
There weren’t many people in the store, so the boss quickly prepared and served it up and chatted with her when he had nothing to do.
“You are not a local, are you?”
The boss has completely forgotten about her.
“Well, I’m here on a business trip.”, Serena replied.
“You don’t come from Boston just because you have an accent. But you look a bit like a little girl who used to come to our store. That little
girl has no conscience. She never came back after graduating from high school. Her face is as beautiful as a doll. Every time, my wife secretly adds a fried egg to her and puts it at the bottom of the spaghetti. My wife has talked about it for several years, saying that she dreams of having such a beautiful daughter. When she grows up, she will be more beautiful than an idol. ”
Serena was taken aback for a moment, and then realised that the little girl the boss was talking about was her turned out that the fried egg was specially given to her was not something that should have been in spaghetti. Jenny said she was always belatedly aware of other people’s kindness.
“Honey, come over and have a look. Does this girl look like the little girl who always came to our shop?”
The proprietress came over after hearing the sound, and took a closer look at Serena, then shook her head in disappointment.
“The facial features are similar, and they all look so beautiful, but no, the temperament is different. That little girl is so arrogant that she looks like she doesn’t care about anyone. This girl has calm eyebrows and is friendly.”
The proprietress pointed out the difference straight to the point.
Serena just smiled. She didn’t expect that when she returned to Boston for the first time in many years, she would meet someone who missed her. In addition, they were two strangers who had nothing in common with her and she didn’t remember. Is it just that the proprietress misunderstood her? She was not arrogant in high school, but she was
not sociable, so she talked less.
The taste of spaghetti was as delicious as I remembered, but the fried egg at the bottom of the bowl was missing. On a whim, she took a photo of spaghetti and a photo of the shop just now. She sent Whatsapp Moments with the text: A little warmth.
