Love Is Colder than Death

Chapter 17 Deep Self-accusation

Sparrow was changing clothes for Phoenix and Jun Mohan was waiting behind the door. After she finished, she sneaked out with tears in her eyes.

Then she walked to him and knelt down on her knees. She made a kowtow and said, "Your Highness, please save Her Phoenix Highness... She lost her phoenix bone because of you. She loves you deeply. Although she made a mistake by opening the gate of Asmodians the day you were to get married, she used all her force and even lost her phoenix bone to seal the gate again to keep the world safe... Her Highness was already wounded at that time. Her power has been diminished a lot. She could never have the possibility to hurt Princess Snow!"

"Phoenix bone was destroyed..."

Jun Mohan was stunned and stepped back, "Her phoenix bone was destroyed, how could that happened?"

He knew what it meant for a Celestial people to lose their phoenix bone.

But why he didn't have any idea before!

He didn't dare to think of the consequences.

"Sparrow always know that you have been misunderstanding Her Highness. She didn't allow me to tell you the truth, nor did she want to go back to her home. She just persisted in this Fairy Palace. A phoenix bone is more important than a phoenix girl's life. She could never have the chance to become a real Phoenix after she lost her phoenix bone. Ever since then, she has to suffer great agony..."

Jun Mohan listened without saying a word.

He didn't know any of these.

"Your Highness wanted to cure Princess Snow, so you took her blood constantly... But Your Highness didn't know, she was at the blink of getting vanished. She was extremely weak, and theses of blood were killing her. Jun Mohan's heart ached badly that he felt it was cut deeply by a knife.

He fell into extreme remorse. He wouldn't have taken her blood if he had known that her life was in danger.

He never wanted to threaten her life.

"Then one day when I was combing her hair, I found Her Highness had some gray hair! We, Celestial people, are immortal... but I discovered that Her Highness was getting older and older and she was gaining more and more gray hair. I was really scared. But Her Highness didn't allow me to inform you. She's afraid that you would be more... disgusted toward her when you saw her aging face.

Sparrow didn't care how Jun Mohan responded, she just continued speaking.

"Princess Snow frame Her Highness for numerous times. But Your Highness never found out the truth, Her Highness could do nothing..."

"Alright, I see. Sparrow, you may stand up... I know she's been through a lot. I'll see to it that she's gonna be okay. No matter what it takes, I will bring her back to life."

Sparrow bit her lip, nodded, and looked at him, "Please give Her Highness and our Celestial people a good remedy! You can't let her be framed in vain!"

Lots of Fairy officials rushed into the Phoenix Hall and grilled her about allying with the Asmodians. They even took her to prison. But she wasn't locked with Phoenix, so she didn't know what had happened next.

If the Fairy Emperor didn't make up for her well, she would not let it end easily. After all their people came, she would tell them everything that happened to Her Highness.

As if he had seen through her mind, Jun Mohan frowned, thinking, "She is a perfect maid to her. They even have the same temperament.

"You may leave. I'm here to look after her."

Jun Mohan did make himself clear, but Sparrow looked at him wobbly n distrust. "No, she's in a coma. I won't leave her even one second."

So both of them stayed here to accompany Phoenix. The atmosphere was once very awkward. When Sparrow soaked the towel with hot water, twisted it, and was to scrub Phoenix, a big firm hand reached out and took the towel away.

Sparrow watched as Jun Mohan took her hand gently and wiped it. She pouted for she didn't know what this guy was thinking.

He hated her a few days ago but now he stayed there and looked after her all on his own.

Jun Mohan gently held Phoenix's hand, and the affection in his eyes is almost indulgent to anyone.

Didn't sure what he was up to, Jun Mohan took the flute out and asked Sparrow when he saw her stunned expression, "Have you seen it before, Sparrow?"

If Snow was telling the truth that the flute was grabbed by Phoenix when they were at the cliff, Sparrow couldn't have seen it before.

"Of course, this flute belongs to Her Highness. But why Your Highness have it?"

Jun Mohan was stuck, and hissed, "You mean this belongs to Phoenix? Are you sure?"
