Love Comes To Me

Chapter 98: Don't take him away

Hearing Hector Rogers ask himself to check the surveillance, a difference flashed in Rupert Rogers' eyes, "Brother, are you suspecting that Esme Lawson is telling lies?"

He thought that his brother was going to let Esme Lawson off the hook after he had just dealt with Gordon Basil.

Hector Rogers grunted, "A man who says he's not lying knows it when he sees it."

With only Esme Lawson's one-sided story, how could Hector Rogers believe that she had nothing to do with it, and anyone who wanted to hurt Eloise Thompson, he would not let go. "Okay, I've got it, right away." Rupert Rogers nodded, and then left.

After he left, Hector Rogers went to Eloise Thompson's room.

Eloise Thompson had not long finished her shower when she looked at Hector Rogers and spoke again to say thank you.

"You're welcome, I should be the one apologising for letting all this happen to you here." Hector Rogers spoke up in response.

It was his negligence that led to the Gardner family getting on the cruise ship and to Eloise Thompson accidentally falling into the sea. "How can I blame you for that!"

If it wasn't for him, I don't know where I would have been swept away by the sea, so how could I be standing here unharmed now! Hector Rogers sighed, "Don't think too much about it, it's getting late, go to bed first."

"Hmm."

Eloise Thompson nodded and, after sending Ken Feng away, lay down on the bed next to Solomon, who was sleeping soundly, and Eloise Thompson's gaze softened as she wrapped her arms around him and fell asleep.

...

In the middle of the night, Eloise Thompson slept in a daze, dreaming that she was lying in a clean white bed with a throbbing pain in her abdomen as the baby was born ...

That day five years ago came back over and over again, Eloise Thompson's whole body was cold and there was a choking pain in her chest.

"No, don't take him away..."

Her child, that's her child.

"Don't ..."

Solomon woke up rubbing his eyes at the sound of the voice, he got up from the bed in a daze and called out, "Auntie Eloise."

No response.

Solomon sensed something was wrong and reached out a small hand to touch Eloise Thompson's face, the hot temperature came and he was in a hurry.

The little one rushed out of bed to knock on Hector Rogers' door.

Hector Rogers had just gone to bed when he opened the door to his room to find Solomon standing in the doorway, dressed in his pyjamas, his face anxious, his shoes uncovered, and looking as if he had come out in a hurry. "What's wrong?" Hector Rogers asked, speaking with a slight frown.

"Auntie Eloise has a fever and it's hot!" Solomon spoke up, anxiously

At this, Hector Rogers' face changed and he rushed to pick Solomon up and carry him to the next room.

As it happens, Eloise Thompson is running a high fever and not only that, but seems to be in a nightmare, talking incessantly.

"Daddy, what can we do, Auntie Eloise looks so uncomfortable!" Solomon looked at Eloise Thompson's face with distress.

Hector Rogers rushed to call Jensen Walker, the phone rang for a long time before it was answered and Jensen Walker's sleepy voice came through: "Young master, it's late at night, can't you talk tomorrow about what's going on here?" "Eloise Thompson has a fever, come and see if you can hurry."

In one short sentence, so angry that Jensen Walker almost vomited blood, he spoke with a displeased look on his face, "I'm a fucking psychiatrist, can you please respect the profession and not use it as a doctor?"

The point is that it's the middle of the night, is this how you torment people?

Grumbling aside, though, Jensen Walker got out of bed, got dressed and made her way to Eloise Thompson's room to see her.

After a quick check, Solomon spoke up sharply and asked, "Uncle Jensen, how's Auntie Eloise? Why is she so hot?"

Jensen Walker looked at the worried look on the faces of father and son and said, "I've got a fever from the cold and shock when I fell into the water, so I'll take some medicine to reduce the fever, and then take them to hospital if they're still burning tomorrow. The cruise ship will have docked by then."

Hector Rogers nodded without speaking.

Solomon, who had fallen asleep early, was puzzled as to how Auntie Eloise could have fallen overboard.

He went over to the bed and looked at Eloise Thompson's face, then spoke again, "Daddy, what is Auntie Eloise talking about?"

Hector Rogers moved closer only to hear Eloise Thompson, lying on the bed, seemingly mumbling, "No, don't take him away..." The dream was indistinct but very real.

Eloise Thompson vaguely saw a little five-year-old boy standing in front of her, opening his mouth and shouting, "Mummy, Mummy... why did you abandon me, why didn't you want me?" The sound of crying came and Eloise Thompson's heart cut to pieces as she struggled to see the child's face, but he was far away.

"No, don't go, don't take him ..."

Hector Rogers frowned slightly, what was this man she was talking about? It certainly looked like this man was important to Eloise Thompson, was it something to do with that part of her past? This feeling of not knowing anything makes Hector Rogers' heart clog inexplicably.

"This girl, it seems, has quite a story to tell?" Jensen Walker smiled and looked at Hector Rogers with a playful expression.

Hector Rogers ignored it and waited for Eloise Thompson to finish her medication before speaking straight away, "You can go now."

Jensen Walker: "...?"

"I owe you fucking millions in my last life! Can't even say thank you?"

"Uncle Jensen, you're so loud! It's disturbing Auntie Eloise's rest." Solomon looked at him with a disgusted look on his face. Jensen Walker: "..."

Thus, after being used, he was ruthlessly thrown out by the two fathers, and Jensen Walker had a solid feeling.

...

In the room, Hector Rogers put Solomon to bed, then fetched hot water and wiped the dense beads of sweat from Eloise Thompson's forehead before sitting down to watch over the two. Solomon held his heroine's hand obediently and was not sleepy, just looking at Eloise Thompson's face with his eyes so open.

After a while, Solomon could only be heard speaking worriedly, "Daddy, Auntie Eloise's hands are so cold!"

Hector Rogers went over to take a look and found that Eloise Thompson's hands were indeed cold, and not only that, her lips were white and her whole body seemed to be shaking, when it was clearly hot just a moment ago. "Daddy, what should we do? Should we go get Uncle Jensen to look at it again?"

Jensen Walker would be furious if he heard that, what does he think he is! You can find it whenever you want!

Hector Rogers pondered for a moment and simply lifted the covers up and wrapped his arms around Eloise Thompson.

Eloise Thompson, in her dream, the pain of having her child taken away still spreading throughout her body as she lies in a cold hospital, the world a grey place.

Somehow she felt vaguely as if something was holding her, reassuringly, and her knitted brow gradually relaxed.

Hector Rogers looked at Eloise Thompson's face and couldn't help but feel a twinge of heartache in his eyes.

Did she just dream about the past?

What did the former Eloise Thompson go through to make her look so miserable just now?

With that thought, he wrapped his arms around the person even tighter.
