Chapter 335: She's no slouch
Hector gently stroked her back, his sword brow furrowed slightly, his eyes full of heartache.
If he had known this would happen, he would have stopped her from seeing Reeva's father anyway. But...
He turned his head to look into the resuscitation room.
How can a person faint for good reason?
I don't know how long it took before Eloise's crying slowly stopped.
She sniffled and left his embrace, noticing that his suit was wet with her tears.
"What about it?" She lifted her face, her eyes red and her voice a little muffled.
Hector looked down and smiled slightly, "It's okay, it'll dry in a minute."
Hearing this, Eloise couldn't help but blush, how embarrassing, to be crying like that at such an age. "In a better mood?" Hector asked.
She nodded, "Much better."
Hector sat down next to her and turned his head to look at her, "Can you tell us what's going on?"
Eloise told him word for word what Reeva's father had said, and about Reeva's father kneeling to force her.
The more Hector listened, the harder his face became, and finally, he snorted coldly, "He's really putting his face on the line for Reeva."
"Hector ..." Eloise bit her lip, hesitating a little.
"You can say whatever you want to say."
"I'd say ... or how about we just don't sue Reeva?"
Hector frowned, "You've been convinced?"
"No." Eloise shook her head as she looked towards the resuscitation room, the corners of her mouth curled and a hint of envy passed over her brow, "I envy Reeva." "Hmm?"
"Her father didn't even want his own face to save her, so you can imagine how much she was loved in the family and how much her father loved her."
A look of despondency crossed her face as she said this.
Hector knew she was thinking of her father and he put his arm around her, "You have me enough."
At that, Eloise smiled, "Yeah, it's enough with you."
Hector smiles gently.
"We could ask the Lawson family to send Reeva abroad so she doesn't come back, what do you think?" Eloise asked.
"Are you sure you're not going to press charges against her?" Hector asked instead of answering.
"Hmm."
"Thinking about it?"
"Think about it." Eloise shrugged her shoulders, "People's dads are on their knees, would it be unkind of me not to say yes?"
"It won't. It's what she Reeva asked for."
Hector doesn't want to let Reeva off the hook, and the pain she inflicted on Eloise should be returned a hundredfold and a thousandfold.
However, he respected her decision.
"It's true that she had it coming." This Eloise agreed.
"But there's nothing wrong with the Lawson family."
Although he didn't take on the Lawson family again, the Lawson family is not what it used to be and has paid a considerable price for what happened to Reeva. She felt that this was enough.
She was still too kind, and perhaps Reeva's father had caught her at that point and sought her out.
Hector nodded, "I know what to do."
He had done so much for her, but in the end, she was going to let Reeva go, so what he had done was all wasted.
Eloise was a little overwhelmed, "If it's barely possible, you can do whatever you want without my thoughts." "It won't be forced."
To Hector, he cared more about her and would do anything he was asked to do as long as she was happy.
"Thank you, Hector," she said, looking at him gratefully.
Hector gently stroked her face and said, "Don't ever say thank you again."
She curled her lips in a smile, "Good."
Reeva's father was rescued by the doctors and released from danger.
"The patient had a sudden cerebral haemorrhage, fortunately he was brought to the hospital in time, he is no longer in danger, take care not to let him get emotional again, take some time to recuperate and he will be healthy again." Eloise bent towards the doctor, "Thank you."
"You're welcome, it's what we should do."
After the doctor left, Eloise looked at Reeva's father, who was still unconscious in the hospital bed, and asked, "Should we inform the Lawson family?"
"I'll make the call." Hector walked out.
Eloise walked over to the sofa and sat down, thinking back to what the doctor had told her and grimacing, it seemed she really would have to agree to Reeva's father's request.
Forget about it, let's be merciful.
...
Hector contacted Reeva's mother who arrived at the hospital shortly afterwards.
As soon as she entered the ward and saw Reeva's father lying on the bed, her face turned white and she ran up to him, covering her lips with her hands and looking at Reeva's father in disbelief.
"Tristan, what's wrong with you?" Reeva's mother couldn't help but cry at the sight of Reeva's father's face so pale that there was no trace of blood.
Eloise couldn't help but feel sad too, and she held Hector's hand tightly.
Hector gave her a sideways glance and squeezed her palm, signalling that she should not be upset.
I'm fine.
Eloise smiled down at him and mouthed a silent message to tell him she was fine.
"What the hell is going on here?"
Reeva's mother wiped her tears and turned her head to look at them.
There was a flash of disgust in his eyes at the sight of Eloise.
"Uncle collapsed out of nowhere and it was Eloise who took him to the hospital." Hector said.
Reeva's mother narrowed her eyes and fixed a stern gaze on Eloise, "Tristan was there to plead with you, why did he suddenly faint? Did you say something?"
Eloise turned her head to look at Hector, then denied, "I didn't say anything, and there's nothing to say."
"Is that so?" Reeva's mother snorted coldly, "Who doesn't know that you hate Reeva and our Lawson family?"
"Auntie, watch what you say!" Hector said sternly.
"Hector, auntie advises you not to be fooled by this woman's appearance, she is no slouch."
Seeing that Reeva's mother was saying things about herself that were not true in Ken Donelson, Eloise was upset and said, "Since I am not a saving grace, Hector, let's proceed with the case against Reeva and I take back what I was going to say before about giving up."
At that, Reeva's mother was dumbfounded, then reacted and asked after her, "What are you talking about?"
Hector explained coldly, "Eloise was prepared not to prosecute Reeva because of her uncle's plea, but because of your ungracious words, she decided to do so anyway."
How did this happen?
Reeva's mother was a little incredulous, "You guys aren't lying to me, are you?"
Eloise sneered, "Why would I lie to you?"
"You ..."
Reeva's mother was momentarily speechless, unable to think of a reason for her to lie to herself.
"Are you sure you're not going to charge Reeva?" Reevaâ€TMs mother asked uncertainly.
"It was before, but not anymore."
Reeva's mother realised that she had offended someone by saying the wrong thing and hastily apologised, "Miss Eloise, I'm sorry, it was a slip of the tongue, please don't take it personally."
"Do you think it's appropriate to stab someone and say you're sorry?" Eloise looked at her coldly.
"I..." Reevaâ€TMs mother panicked, what was going to happen?
People weren't even going to sue Reeva, but her words changed their minds.
Suddenly -
"Snap!"
The ward suddenly rang with the sound of a crisp, loud slap.
