Chapter 16
Chapter 16 Win
Eleanor was so angry and anxious that her face turned red. “Who’s picking a fight with you? My bank card is missing. There is only me and you in this house. If you didn’t take it, who did it?” Wesley frowned. “What bank card?” “The black card Alfred gave me.” Wesley froze. He thought, “Grandpa gave Eleanor his black card?” That was a bank card with no credit limit, and there were no more than ten of them in the world. Wesley knew that Alfred liked Eleanor, but he didn’t expect that Alfred would like her to such an extent. Wesley said, “I didn’t take the card. You didn’t just stay at home after you came to Burville. Think about where you’ve been with the card.” Eleanor frowned in disbelief. Wesley added, “I have sixty percent of the world’s wealth. Do I need to care about your money? “You spouted nonsense without proof. You’re brainless. “I thought you were smarter than Arianna, and I didn’t realize that you were no better than her. You idiot.” Wesley finished and turned to go to his study, leaving the upset Eleanor alone in the living room. Wesley was in a good mood after finally winning an argument with his wife. He walked into the study in high spirits, took out his cell phone to call the bank, reported the loss of the car, and requested a replacement card. The next day, just after he arrived at work, the bank president personally delivered the card. Since Alfred’s card was from Wesley and was registered in his name, the new card was sent directly to Wesley after it was processed. After the bank president left, Wesley took the card and pondered. Considering the way Eleanor had treated him, he didn’t want to give her the card. He thought, “Grandpa said she was from the countryside and had no money, so if she needs to count on me to pay her living expenses, she should just do as she is told and not make me angry.” So Wesley just threw the card into the safe. He didn’t give it to Eleanor or send it to Alfred again. After all, if he gave it to Alfred, Alfred would give it to Eleanor. However, this was Wesley’s wishful thinking. Eleanor confirmed that she had lost the card when she ran into the fire the other day to save the child and that she could never get it back. Immediately after that, she took out an old cell phone and sent a message. “I’ll take orders now. Who has jobs for me?” Then, her cell phone was bombarded with new messages. A few moments later. 999+ missed calls. 999+ Unread text messages. 999+ Line messages. Eleanor thought, “One should not accept others’ things for no reason. That will bring him trouble. I don’t like Wesley, so I won’t spend his money. “If I use his money, I will have to listen to him. “It’s not like I don’t know how to make money.” *** Wesley waited for a day, yet his wife didn’t contact him for money. He guessed that she still had some money in hand and that when she spent it, she would definitely ask him for money, and then he would lecture her. At night, Wesley came home and noticed something unusual in the bathroom. He didn’t know what Eleanor was doing in there, and every now and then, she gasped like she was hurt. As much as he didn’t want to care about her, he didn’t want anything to happen to her. A nominal husband was also a husband, so he had to take the responsibility. At least for the next two years, he had to protect her well. Wesley walked over to the bathroom door and knocked on it. “Eleanor, what are you doing in there?” The sudden voice startled Eleanor, and she unconsciously pressed her hand. The pain made her scream out. Wesley frowned and kicked open the bathroom door. Eleanor wasn’t wearing a top or a bra.
