Chapter 15

Chapter 15 Eleanor’s Accusation

Without being angry, Wesley opened the box for Eleanor. The next second, a limited-edition bag that many wealthy ladies wished to possess appeared. Growing up in the mountains, Eleanor had no idea about branded bags. She glanced at the bag soon before withdrawing her gaze, evidently not liking it. Wesley’s brows furrowed deeply. It was the first time he had offered to buy a bag for a woman. What did she mean by looking at the bag like that? If it wasn’t for the fact that she almost got hurt, he wouldn’t have bought her a bag. Wesley held back his dissatisfaction and handed her a bank card. “Here’s what you can live on this month, 160 thousand dollars.” Wesley didn’t know that Alfred had given Eleanor a black card. Eleanor glanced at the bank card and frowned at Wesley. “What on earth are you trying to say?” She found Wesley strange. He had never thought of sending her anything before. Wesley forced himself to be patient. He said, “It’s Arianna’s mistake to try to hurt you. I apologize to you on her behalf. I have educated her. She will never do that again.” Eleanor squinted her eyes. She was surprised that he knew who was at fault and had come specifically to apologize to her. Without saying a word, Eleanor looked into Wesley’s eyes. Being looked at by her in such a straight way and close distance, Wesley felt a little uneasy and asked, “What are you looking at?” “Your eyes.” “Is there anything in my eyes?” Eleanor continued, “Your eyes are quite large and bright. I even envy you for your double eyelids. Why…” Wesley was puzzled. Eleanor went on, “Why is your judgment so poor when it comes to choosing the women you like?” Wesley was shocked. Eleanor added before he got angry. “Arianna is stupid and vicious. Besides, she is average in appearance, figure, and disposition. What do you really like about her? Wisdom? Appearance? Neither of them she possesses.” Eleanor could hardly restrain herself from looking down upon Wesley because of Arianna. She didn’t think that an excellent and intelligent man would like Arianna. She wondered if Wesley was love-struck. Wesley was furious at Eleanor’s words. Except her, no one dared to scold him like this. He didn’t explain his relationship with Arianna to her. He only said, “It’s none of your business.” Eleanor curled her lips. She then said, “Well, then, I hope you two are happy together. In fact, in some aspects, you are quite a match for each other.” Wesley was dumbfounded. Didn’t she just belittle Arianna? What did she mean by saying that he and Arianna were a good match? “Eleanor Basford!” Eleanor curled her lips and rolled her eyes at Wesley before turning to go upstairs. She didn’t take the bag or the bank card. Wesley’s face clouded as he watched her leave. Instead of venting his anger, however, he could only stifle it. After all, he felt guilty about what had happened. He increasingly disliked Arianna, who was malicious. Meanwhile, he realized that Eleanor was not as sample as she looked. She was not easy to bully. Although she seemed to be weak, she didn’t allow anyone else to insult her. What was more, she was clever. Wesley was still deep in thought when Eleanor suddenly charged at him in a rage. “Wesley, did you steal my money?” Wesley was confused. “What?” Eleanor clenched her fists tightly as if she was about to fight him in the next second. “Did you steal my money?” Wesley asked in astonishment, “What? Steal money?” He found it extremely incredible. Did she know how much money he had? It was impossible for him to use her money. How dared she accuse him of stealing her money? What sort of a man did she think of him? Wesley’s face turned gloomy. “I know you are in a bad mood and it’s Arianna’s fault. I have said sorry to you, haven’t I? What else do you want?”
