SWNOVELS Chapter Chapter forty two
After my weird encounter with Lucy, I went back inside the house to eat. I ate late lunch before going to bed. Rip and I could not meet like we both promised to. She was busy all day but I didn't mind. I understood she had her own things to do so I just slept early to avoid me overthinking anything going on with me.
I know I should not just trust Lucy but I believed her and I really don't know why. Maybe because the vampire mentioned something about it? Or the fact that my dreams that weren't manipulated showed me the same thing.
I really don't know so in this situation I just have to believe Lucy is being honest. Like Ri said, Jack was here now so she won’t cause me any more troubles. She explained why she did the things she did which she obviously overreacted but I tried to see things from her perspective too. Can't wait to talk to Ri about everything happening.
These were my last thoughts as sleep engulfed me in its embrace. I had a good night sleep.

I woke up kinda early today so I quickly brushed and washed my face before throwing a big shirt on before leaving the room. I was tempted to knock and check up on Ri but I didn't want to disturb her. She has been tired lately and if I woke her up she will insist to help me bake. Yes, bake. I decided today was the day to make cakes for Lucian. I knew he wouldn't eat it but I need to do something to take some time off my hands so I made my way to the kitchen.
I met a young brunette in the kitchen so I asked her for help.
“Good morning” I greeted to get her attention. I turned to face me quickly as she gasped in shock.
“Luna!” I sounded panicked.
“Call me Raina please” I corrected. She didn't like the idea of that so I just ignored her constant calling of Luna while I talked to her.
“What do you need Luna. Are you hungry? I can make something quickly” She offered. I shook my head, no.
“I will make my food myself if I am hungry. Actually, I need your help to find some items then I'll be fine on my own” I said to her.
“What do you need Luna?” It was really uncomfortable but I understood how uncomfortable it would be for her to call me Raina.
“Uhm_ I want to bake cupcakes” I informed. She nodded quickly as she walked around the big kitchen bringing out every possible thing I would need for the cupcakes.
“Anything else Luna?” She asked. She looked tired so I said,
“I know you won't stop calling me Luna so why don't you join me and have some fun” I proposed.
“I don't think that will be appreciated by the Alpha” She mumbled.
“And I am his Luna so join me” That sounded very odd for me to say but I had to if I wanted this beautiful young lady to join and relax a bit.
I started with the batter.
“I should mix that” She offered.
“I like to do this part” I smiled at her. She sighed but nodded either way.
“So, what's your name” She looked around first before she answered me.
“My name is Charlotte”
“Charlotte. I love your name” I complimented. She smiled politely.
“Thank you”
“How did you get here?” I asked curiously.
“This is my pack. I was born here just that I was born an Omega” She said sadly.
“Are Omegas treated badly here?” I asked.
“No. It's just not fun knowing you are of no use to the pack but to work endlessly to prove to others that you can do something” She quickly cleaned her tears looking up at me.
“I’m sorry about that Lu_”
“It’s fine Charlotte. I know how you feel. I'm here if you need someone to talk to” I said hugging her careful not to stain her with the batter. She went still against me before pulling away.
“The old Luna needs me. Thank you, Luna” She smiled before leaving.
I finished the rest of the cake making process alone which I didn't like but I also did not mind being alone thinking about how got myself in this situation. If I had not run that night, will Lucian have brought me here?
I poured the batter into the small cake pans and placed the twelve cupcakes inside the oven. I cleaned up the items I used before leaving the kitchen to go and have my bath.
This time I wore something different. I wore a jean mini skirt with a white bodysuit, can't blame a girl for being in love with bodysuits. I put on my flip flops before going back down to the kitchen to check on the cupcakes.
I had to wait twenty minutes before the cake was ready. I didn't see the need to decorate when I knew I would be the one to eat most of the cupcakes. I removed the cakes from the pan and placed six on a plate. I covered it and made my way to the third floor.
Already tired from all the climbing I was really anxious to go into Lucian’s office to drink some water. I stopped when I heard Ri’s voice.
“She’s going to leave if you don't start acting like you want her to be here” I sighed. Not again.
“She has nowhere to go” He responded to her.
“That's what you think. Don't underestimate what she would do to make sure you suffer for how you are treating her” Ri yelled at me.
“Can everyone just stop telling me what to do!” She shouted at her. Ri went quiet before replying to him.
“Maybe we will when you act like the Alpha we know not someone who doesn't even know whether he wants his mate or not” Before he could say another stupid thing from his mouth, I barged in.
I slammed the cake on his table and looked at him.
“Fuck you!” I screamed at him walking out.
I went to my room angrily. What Ri said would have been true if I didn't have a reason to stay. Maybe if she had said that last week? But right now I can't imagine leaving her, she's my only friend now. As much as I hated Lucy we have similar stories and j could relate to hair she reacts to certain things. I love his mum. That woman is so nice. How did I let all of them grow on me?
