“Lucian” I called. He sent a glare to his mum and pulled me out.

“I don't understand what is going on!” I screamed at him when he kept pulling away” He stopped and started taking deep breaths.

“I don't know why she just told you that” He finally said.

“You didn't expect her to tell me? You don't want me to know?” I asked.

“No, not that” He denied.

“Why are you so angry then?” I questioned.

“Can you just leave it be Raina” He scolds. Angry he was treating me like I stranger I turned away from him and started making my journey to the packhouse without him.

“Raina” He called after me but I did not answer. He caught up with me very quickly. Damn him and his alpha speed.

“You can't understand Raina. I just want you to trust me” He begged

“I need you to trust me too. Why don't you want me to know anything about this pack?” I asked.

“What difference does it make when you do?” He threw the question at me.

“I’ll understand how to help one the way or the other. I won't be so insensitive to how much time you need to work or you don't have to keep whispering or leaving the room when you want to talk about certain things.” I answered hurt that he didn't even trust me yet.

He held my face in his hand staring at me with his beautiful green eyes.

“When all of this is over Raina, I promise everything will make more sense. For now, I need you to trust me and you don't need to change. I love spending all my time with you” He said. I nodded gently. He left a kiss on my forehead.

“Thank you for coming into my life the time you did” He whispered holding my hand as we walked into the packhouse together.

Entering the packhouse only to meet Jack, Lucy and Henrietta seated at the dining table.

“Hey guys” I greeted still shocked they were sitting waiting for us.

“Hi Rain” Jack replied. Lucy smiled while Ri looked like something was bothering her but I paid no mind to it. She's been like that all week. Nobody understands why she was suddenly the way she is.

“What did your parents say?” Jack asked. Lucian helped me sit and then he did the saw beside me.

“Well, so far we know to find the sword we need to find pieces of puzzles that lie with witches, dragons and seers/guardians. This is the only way to find the sword” He explained.

“What do we do after that?” Lucy asked.

“I don't know. Wait for new instructions” I said with a shrug.

“No,” Ri said loudly out of nowhere. We all turned to face her with worried looks.

“No what, Henrietta?” Lucian asked his sister.

“Why dig up the process of this war when nothing good comes out from it? Why do you all badly want to fight in this war against what you don't know! Do you think this type of war ends with peace?!” She screamed at us, her eyes red and stained with tears as she talked.

“I lost my family, my whole life to this so-called war. If this war is really for peace why do we keep losing the ones we love to it!? The moon goddess is fucked up for her own ways. Forcing us to comply with whatever she wants. She's sick!”

“Rietta_” Lucian tried to talk to her but she wasn't having it.

“No Lucian. I know you all love me but j can't help but think how good of an alpha I would have been if I still had my pack and my parents. It's not the same. “ she stood up pushing the chair with great force that it fell. I turned to Lucian when she left.

“She’ll come around. We just need to be understanding that this is hard for her” Lucian assures us. We nodded. He was looking at Jack. It took me a while to realize that they were mind linking. Sometimes I can't but hope to become a full pack member so I can do that too.

“I hope” Lucy kissed Jack’s cheek.

“See you” Ahe murmured in his ear.

She gave Lucian and I a hug each before she left. After minutes of not talking, I realized whatever they were saying was important. Deciding to save them from the trouble of mind linking I stood up. Lucian pulled me back down without looking away from his beta. I sighed as I sat down with my head on the table.

“Luna” I young boy called holding a white envelope. I stared at him wearily. I have never seen his face and I don't even know what he wants. Jack and Lucian, were already paying attention to what was going on.

“What’s that?” Lucian asked for me.

“Alpha it is a letter sent to the Luna” The boy answered.

“From?” Jack asked.

“Silver blood” My entire body went still on hearing the name of the pack I was before Lucian found me.

Lucian held my shoulders collecting the letter from the young boy who left immediately.

“That will be all Jack. Thank you” He dismissed his beta leaving us both alone. He handed the letter to me.

To Raina,

I recognised that handwriting anywhere. Suddenly I didn't want Lucian reading this with me because I knew how Wren could get. I took the letter from him in an attempt to take it elsewhere to read.

“Who is it from?” Lucian asked.

“Uhm_it’s not important,” I said.

“Not exactly the question I asked” He already had a frown on his beautiful face.

“It’s nothing” I snapped not actually meaning it.

He snatched the letter when I started reading it.

“Hey!” I frowned bit he ignored all of my protest. I sat staring and watching every of his reaction as he read the letter Wren sent.

“You two had a relationship?” He asked. I nodded, no.

“Why is he writing to you like this then?” He questioned. Angry he was talking to me like I was a child I turned to face him well.

“You do not have the right to get angry. You read it even when I said no” I said angrily.

“Answer me!” He yelled. I took a sharp breath, scared.

“Fuck it! Stop talking to me like that.” I was already standing .

“Youre acting like one and I will treat you like one”

“Fuck you!” I walked away. As soon as I got to the stairs I ran up to the room. I walked around unable to sit because of how angry I was at him. I didn't even know what to do. Like what? Did he have that low regard of me not to respect me? I heard the door open. I turned to the door to see Lucian standing with the letter in his hand. I walked closer to him and snatched the letter out if his hand. I turned my back to him to read the content of the letter.

To Raina,

I hope you're fine. I'm sorry I sent a letter this late despite my promise. I want you to know that I miss you so much. I love you Raina. Expect me in two weeks. I hope Alpha Lucian is treating you right?. Be safe Raina. Don't let him hurt you.

Wren.

I folded the letter. I walked to the bed to lie down.

“You can't avoid this conversation Raina” Lucian said angryily.

“You don't get the right to he angry. You didn't respect me when I told you not to read the letter”

“And you don't respect our relationship enough that a letter from your ex is changing everything!” I laughed.

“I can't believe you right now Lucian. Whatever happened with me and Wren was way before I met you”

“So something did happen”

“You won't believe me if I tell you nothing happened so why waste my time?” I asked rhetorically.

“I will. I trust you” I scoffed.

“If this is what you think trust is then you have no idea what it means to trust someone,” I told him.

“Maybe I was a little out of line. The idea of you having someone before me got me jealous. I shouldn't have spoken to you the way I did. I am sorry”

I sat up.

“A little?” I mocked.

“I’m trying Raina”

I didn't say anything. He sat beside me and pulled me into a big hug.

“He was just trying to take care of me. Nothing happened between us” I assured him.

“I don't need his help to take care of you. I'm doing just fine” He disagreed.

“Shouldn't I be the judge of that?” I asked. He sighed relaxing on my shoulder not saying anything. I could feel how sad he was with what I had just said. I ran my hand through his hair slowly massaging his scalp.

“You are doing fine,” I told him. He didn't say anything to that. A minute later he looked up.

“Do you think I'm a good mate?” I hated myself for making him doubt himself. We both had a lot to work on to make this work. We are going to do it because I can't imagine myself living without him in my life.

“Yes of course. I didn't mean to sound like that” I apologised.

“No, no you can tell me. Is there something I'm not doing that you want?” He asked.

“No. You're fine just the way you are” I promised him. He flashed me his usual perfect smile. Lucian carried me to make me sit on his lap. He was resting on the headboard while I was on his lap. He cupped my face in his hand and kissed me.

His lips were warm and soft. They parted slightly, allowing my tongue to slip inside.

Our bodies pressed together heatedly against the bed, breathing heavily as our lips pressed together. I could taste our shared breath. The feel of our combined heartbeat as we fumbled to take off one another’s clothes.

“Rain, rain” Lucian murmured against my lips holding my hand down. I stopped confused why he held my hands down.

“You should get some rest” He suggested.

“Are you serious?” I was baffled.

“I’ll take you to see Wren. I'm sure you must miss him very much” He avoided my question. I smiled.

“Are you sure?” I asked. I knew he definitely didn't like Wren.

“Yes. Anything to make you happy” He kissed my hair helping me off his already thick member. The idea of being intimate with him turned me on more than I'd like to admit.

“Thank you” I appreciated him wanting to take me back.

“Tell me when you want to leave, I'll send you with_”

“I want you to come with me,” I told me. He looked surprised I said that.

“Sure?” he confirmed my decision.

“Yes. I want you there with me” I repeated.

“Anything you want” He wrapped his body around mine urging me to sleep. I closed my eyes even though I didn't go to sleep.

A while later I felt his hand brush against my breast. Not sure if this was accidental or not I didn't move. My breaths were already held because of the feel of his breathing being close to me and the feel of his body this close to me. Still, in my thoughts, his hand brushes on my breast again but this time his hand remained on it. I closed my eyes right to stop myself from giving any physical reaction to his touch. His he sleeping? I thought.

His hand wandered down getting under my shirt cupping my breast in his hand.

“Mmhm” I moaned not able to stop myself from feeling the sudden wetness and contraction in my genitals. My heartbeat already increased I tried to slow it down but I could not help it.
