Chapter 504

Chapter 504

Joanna was shocked. She felt her feet leaving the ground.

Millie was acting crazy, and Joanna wondered whether Millie truly intended to kill her.

“Millie, you can’t kill me… It’s against the law!” Joanna shouted.

Millie narrowed her eyes. “Law? After everything you’ve done to me, how long will you be in jail?”

Joanna remained silent, desperately gasping for air. “Millie… please… don’t…”

“You not only pushed me into the sea, but you also falsely accused me and ruthlessly attacked me without showing any mercy.” At that moment, Millie tightened her grip.

Joanna tried to pull her hand away from her neck, but she wasn’t strong enough. “Millie…”

Millie smirked at her. “It’s a shame you have to die first.”

“Millie… If my parents and Logan find out about this… they’ll never let you go!” Joanna sobbed in distress.

Numerous passersby observed the scene, but none had the courage to intervene. They merely glanced before hurrying off.

Millie wasn’t afraid of Joanna’s threat at all.

Joanna begged for mercy desperately, “Millie, I was wrong. Please, let me go…‘

Millie was unsatisfied. She clicked her tongue disapprovingly while looking at Joanna’s face.

Joanna didn’t understand what Millie meant.

Suddenly, Millie released her. She immediately gasped for breath with her back against the car. As she looked up, she was perplexed to see Millie standing before her. The next second, Millie swiftly removed Joanna’s coat.

Joanna screamed. “Ah! Millie!”

Millie ignored her. Then, she pulled off Joanna’s coat and saw the same scar on her back. She was shocked and finally understood why Winston believed Joanna,

Joanna instinctively reached for her shoulder, as if realizing something. Gradually, she stopped struggling and lowered her head.

“You really put on quite a performance. You were harsh to yourself, yet I still naively hoped you would show me some kindness.”

Millie caressed the scar on Joanna’s back. Despite Joanna’s constant fear of pain, she willingly inflicted a scar upon herself.

She forced a wry smile. “Is it really worth putting in all this effort just for a man?”

Joanna lowered her head in silence. She had done all of this for Winston, all these sacrifices. Without them, she wouldn’t even have had the chance to be with him.

And yet, even after all her efforts, she still failed to win his heart.

Chapter 504

Why was it so easy for Millie to win over Winston, the man she had worked so hard to pursue? He was the man every woman longed to marry.

“Joanna, you’ve destroyed all three of us,” Millie whispered. In an instant, her nails mercilessly dug into

Joanna’s scar.

Joanna cried out in pain, and tears started flowing down her face.

“Alas. No matter how hard I try, I just can’t seem to scrape off this scar.” Millie sighed as she gently patted Joanna’s scar morbidly.

Joanna felt a strong sense of oppression from Millie that she couldn’t even bring herself to look at her. This reaction might have been fueled by a lack of a clear conscience.

“Joanna, I had completely underestimated you.” Millie grabbed Joanna by her hair and forced her to look

  1. up.

Joanna was in tears, looking pitiful. Millie found it amusing. Playing the victim was always her specialty.
