Chapter Chapter Eleven
So, she sent a text and now found herself anxiously awaiting a response. Flint had ordered a couple pizzas and was just now arriving upstairs.
He pushed the door open and saw Eve poised in the lotus position with her cell phone in her hand. She was so deep in thought that she didn't notice the door opening.
"Baby." He took the phone from her and tossed it behind her onto the mattress. "Eat."
"But I-"
"No buts." Flint handed her the box of chicken wings in his hand. "I got you a double order."
"Honey barbeque?" Eve smiled and smelled the lid.
"Of course. Boneless too." He kissed the top of her head before sitting beside her.
"Ah, you are the perfect man." She giggled and opened her food.
Flint watched as she stabbed into one with her plastic fork. He could feel how nervous she was to talk to Ellie. Yet, his warmth being beside her was like a reminder that all would be well.
The Alpha was worried about his mother, the pack, the upcoming Beta tournament, and Bastian... Yet, the loving mate and expectant father took joy in simply watching Eve. She was able to eat again and all seemed to be going in the right direction. At least, in that part of his life.
"Have I told you lately that you're beautiful?" Flint asked with a half-smile on his lips.
"I'm not sure." Eve grinned at him. "But thank you."
The Alpha opened his mouth to talk but suddenly "With A Little Help From My Friends" by the Beatles began blaring. The Luna jumped and hastily grabbed her phone out from under the pillow.
"Hey. Where have you been?" Eve greeted the caller.
"I was in the shower. What's going on? Your text was weird." Ellie replied.
"I need to know if you've heard of this foundation in the valley. Maybe from your dad?" She stated.
"Okay... Shoot." She was curious.
"Stardust Hope." Eve spoke quickly.
"Let me think for a minute..." Ellie was silent for a few moments. "It sounds familiar but I can't remember where I heard it. Why? What's going on, Evie?"
The Luna turned her eyes to her mate. He silently shook his head to give the answer to his mate's silent question.
"We were going to donate and heard the last name Ford. I just thought he would know if it was a scam." Eve felt uncomfortable lying to her best friend but her options were limited.
"Oh. I don't know. It does sound familiar. Want me to give him a call?" Ellie shrugged.
"No. No, thanks. Uh..." The Luna thought quickly. "It' not a big deal. If anything, Flint will get in touch with him."
"Okay..." She paused. "Are you okay, Evie?"
"Yeah. Just tired. You?" Eve turned the conversation away from herself.
"Yeah. I'm so excited for the wedding." Ellie could be heard smiling blissfully. "I can't wait to be Missus Austin Neilson."
"You don't have much longer to go. I've already planned your doe party. We're all set up." She could nearly see her friend's eyes light up.
"Where?! I want to go somewhere with people! You know how they fascinate me!" Ellie exploded with excitement.
"No hints. It'll spoil it. Listen, I have to go. Flint just got back with food." Eve fibbed.
"Okay. I love you, Evie. Come back soon, okay? The pack is weird without you and Flint." She replied.
"We will. I love you too. Bye!" She hung up the phone before she got caught up in another conversation.
"You're still a terrible liar." Flint shook his head, clearly amused.
"I am not." Eve denied it though she couldn't help but smile.
"I can prove it if you prefer." His hand grabbed her shoulder and tugged her backward.
The Luna laughed as she fell onto her back, sinking into the squeaky mattress. Before she could blink Flint loomed over her and silenced her giggle with a deep kiss.
"How does this prove anything?" Eve probed as his lips sent electric jolts through her throat to her very core.
"You'll see." He spoke with a predatory grin.
Eve's breath hitched in her chest as Flint slid his mouth over the mark on her shoulder. It was like a wave of ecstasy the she couldn't rise above. Couldn't and didn't want to.
Flint wasted no time in stripping her bare. Her honey blonde hair and sun kissed tan always seemed glowed with possibility in his eyes. He lifted her thin ankle to his lips and placed an open kiss there.
Eve's eyes widened slightly and a small smile pulled at her lips. Her mate was changing the game again. And she was positive that it would continue until he got the proof he wanted. Flint tugged off his shirt and slid his mouth down her calf.
He paused on the sensitive skin behind her knee. Eve barely restrained the shiver threatening to roll down her spine. His every touch felt like lighting, boiling her blood. The Alpha smiled to himself as if he knew the urge she was resisting so well.
Flint nipped at her inner thigh with his teeth. Eve gasped and her leg trembled in his hand. Her mate looked at her with a playful, ravenous glint in his eyes. He thin ran his tongue over her most sensitive skin, causing a quiet moan to erupt from her lips.
"Wait!" The Luna whispered. "We're not alone in the pack house!"
Flint hesitated to stop. He tasted her several more times, distracting her entirely before he spoke.
"So you don't want it?" His hoarse question was teasing.
"I-Well, now is-"
"I told you." He slid his finger into her, stirring her entrance. "You're a bad liar. Want more proof?"
Eve opened her mouth to retort but Flint's tongue caressed her again. This time firmly. He stole the breath from her.
"Now be honest... Because your body is always honest with me." His coarse tone sent a shiver through her body.
"I want it..." She breathed in a whining whisper.
Flint tongue penetrated her a second later. Her hips lifted themselves off the mattress. She couldn't think, her mind had been wiped blank. It felt like Flint was pouring heat into her, a pulsating warmth that robbed her of sense.
He must have taken off his pants while he was licking her, though she hadn't noticed. When his hips slid into place between her thighs, his erection was prodding her. Flint buried his face in her neck, inhaling the scent of her skin. Eve wrapped her hands around his shoulders.
The Alpha's lips barely muffled the sound of her moan as he entered her. Eve bit her lips to silence herself but it seemed that with each thrust of Flint's hips, he moved with more ferocity. Flint didn't care about the grunts he was producing. His world view had narrowed to Eve's writhing and her trembling depths.
Her fingernails were digging into his lower back, pulling him closer. Fling growled and threw her hand away before pulling her knees apart. He lifted his torso to watch her hips buck instinctively to his rhythm.
Eve yelped, unable to prevent the squeal from bursting from her lips. Her fists wrapped in the blanket beneath her. It felt like the electricity his every move produced could tear her apart.
"Flint!" She whined for him to slow his pace.
An aggressive growl was his response as his hand slid down her thigh to press on her mound with his palm. Eve shivered uncontrollably when he put pressure on the throbbing bundle of nerves hidden within her lips.
Eve released a shrill, cry as pure pleasure set her every nerve on fire. Flint felt her hot flesh convulse around his hard length, pulling him in deeper. The Alpha groaned in a deep tone, as ecstasy raged through his every muscle. Eve pulled him down to kiss his lips after his hips shuddered and stopped moving.
Flint collapsed beside her on the bed. He wrapped his arms around his mate and pulled her into his grasp. Eve sighed happily, absorbing the smell of his sweat and the feeling of his skin against her.
"It's been a long day..." She gazed up at him with still flushed cheeks. "Are you okay?"
"I don't know." Flint breathed honestly.
"We'll get through it. I'll help if I can." Eve tried to comfort him.
"You are helping. Just be here, Eve. That's all you need to do." He placed a kiss on top of her head.
"That's easy. I'm not going anywhere." She smiled.
