I'm the Alpha's World

Chapter 9

"Henry how do you put so much syrup on your pancakes? They're practically drowning in sugar." I laugh and grab some strawberries and make room on my plate for them.

"Hey, I don't judge your strawberry tower, you don't judge my syrup river." He scarfs down his pancakes and I roll my eyes at him and sit down at the table. Sebastian is typing away on the laptop, Henry is eating like an animal, and here I am, at home. I take a deep breath before starting on my strawberry tower and laughing along at Henry's stupid jokes. I even spot Sebastian chuckling at a few.

"Evangeline?" I look up from my strawberries to see Marina standing in the doorway. "Can I talk to you?"

"Sure." I smile and set down my fork.

"Well maybe in privacy." She almost motions for me with her eyes and Sebastian looks up.

"Yea, of course." I stand up and follow to the hallway as she leads me towards the laundry room.

"I was just doing the laundry and I found some things in your pockets, I didn't know if you wanted me to talk about it in front of the Alpha." She hands me three tampons and the test. The pregnancy test I forgot about. Immediately I look at the test and see two lines, clear as day. My heart stops and my lungs seem to stop functioning.

"I've had three kids myself Evangeline, and if you need anything at all, any advice-"

"Is this accurate?" I manage to get out of my throat that seems to slowly be closing.

"Well, is this the only one you took?"

"Y-Yes."

She nods. "It's always best to take more than one test before going to a doctor to get the for sure result. Is there anymore you can take, do you need me to go out and get more?"

I shake my head. "I have some, I just need to go to Fiona's, t-thank you Marina."

She gently squeezes my shoulder before I fly down the hallway and past the kitchen. I grab a coat to cover up my night gown and head straight out the front door after slipping on a pair of shoes that were near by.

My heart beat seems to only move quicker the longer I wait. I can't think, I can barely breathe.

I hurry up Fiona's front steps and ring the doorbell twice. Seconds feel like hours and I feel as if I'm having a panic attack.

Finally she opens the door. "Evan?" She sees the state that I'm in and rushes me inside. "What's happening?"

"I-I-I"

"Come on, you need water." She leads me to the kitchen and I pull off the jacket. Quickly Fiona pours me a cool glass of water and I desperately drink it down and then another glass, then another.

Finally I can feel my body calm down enough that I can speak. "I made a mistake, I didn't mean to, I thought it was for fun." I spill and reach into the jacket pocket.

"What, Evan what are you talking about?"

I slap the test into her hand and her eyes nearly pop out of her head. "Holy crap."

"I need more tests."

"Come on, I don't care take the entire box." She takes me upstairs and into the bathroom. "Do you need me to get more?"

She hands me the box and I see three left which should be enough. So I grab the first one and Fiona turns around while I take it. "This is crazy." She mutters with her arms crossed.

I finish up and hold the test in my hand. Now I have to wait.

My heavy breathing turns into tears forming in my eyes. "I don't know what to do."

Fiona pulls me into her arms and rubs my back. "You're going to be fine, you're just a little shocked and worked up right now."

I nod and rest my head on her shoulder. "What if I, what if I am pregnant?"

She pulls away and looks right into my eyes. "Then that's great news, you should be happy Evan. You have Sebastian, Henry, obviously me, Andrew, Marina, we're all here for you. And I know Sebastian is totally going to freak out when he finds out and he'll spin you around just like in the movies, okay?"

"Okay." I mumble and rest my head back on her shoulder. "Fiona, you're the best friend that I wished for ever since I was little."

I hear her sniffle and she continues to rub my back in soothing circles, helping calm me down. We stay like that for a while before she pulls away again. "It's probably time, but you look when you're ready."

I take a deep breath in and out before picking up the test.

Two lines.

I show Fiona and a small, sweet smile lights up her face. "Do you want to take one more?"

I nod and we bring the test with us downstairs so I can drink some more water.

"How long has it been since you think, ya know."

"Maybe a few weeks since the first time but I started taking the pill." I rest my head on my hand.

"When did you start taking the pill?" She asks.

"Maybe a week after the first time."

She looks down and back up at me. "Five days after the start of your period?"

"Oh no." I mutter and cover my eyes with my hands. "I didn't think the directs would be so specific."

"Hey it's okay, but look what that little mistake lead too, a possible baby and babies are a gift. Just think about the upside of things right now okay? Remember how we were talking about having your own little piece of you, raising a child, being a mother?"

"I remember." I can't help but wear a small smile myself.

"Plus Henry is going to freak out right? Him and those baby noises." I can't help but let out a little laugh.

"So do you have to pee yet?"

"Maybe one more glass with do it."

I drink another glass of water and we wait by watching cute videos online of women showing how they're breaking the news to their partners. Also pregnancy video diaries, home videos after the baby is born, and many other ones that tug at my heart strings. I can't help but want to hold their little hands. They look so precious, so innocent and dependent on their mothers to protect them.

When I get the urge to use the toilet I take the test and go into the downstairs bathroom. I take my time and finish up before coming back out with the test in hand.

"Even if this one says negative you should still go to the doctor." Fiona advises and I agree before looking at the little screen like area on the test. I take another deep breath and look up at Fiona.

"Two lines."
